Jo lad saka hai wahi toh mahan hai doesn't mean that go and unnecessarily fight when it is not required, it only means the one who fought when needed is great.. Yudh hi toh veer ka praman hai doesn't mean the war is the first resort, but when challenged and needed, accepting the challenge of war is the proof of bravery.. A song cannot be too explanatory but seriously no one is taking its meaning in the sense you are interpreting.
