In this video I go through how to record voice overs direct to premiere Pro in 2021 using the inbuilt record function
With Premiere Pro it is possible to add your voice over audio to your videos without having to record it using a seperate recording software. This means you can record high quality audio straight into Premiere Pro. Grab yourself a USB mic, plug it into your PC or Mac and you should be good to go!

Mine wont go RED when I click de R button. There is no earthly explaination for this and I cant get it to work. Premiere Pro is HELL.
Which version of premiere are you using? The newest version is super glitchy!
I had the same problem but I had in and out so I cleared mark in and out and I was able to record
Am i crazy or did you record just the left side of the stereo and then it became mono. I have the same issue but i didnt see how you fixed that.
im making a video with adobe premier pro. in my video im adding pictures along with audio me narrating. Would recording on adobe premier be just as good as recording with adobe audition and then just importing the audio to premier pro??
Recording in Premiere Pro should be just as good, adobe audition is more beneficial for treating audio after recording but in terms of recording quality there shouldn't be a difference 👍

I need help everytime i try to record, it only lets me record about 1 second and theres no youtube i can find that fixes that
Have you tried the Adobe support dept? Also try deleting the media cache. Also check there is plenty of room on the hard drive you are saving to?
50 seconds in… video hasnt started yet. Everything else is great but can’t tell people to subscribe before they have even watched it. Think of a better way bud. Edit. 1:18 still yet to start

Right clicking on A1 or A2 audio doesn’t pull up any of those customizing tools in Premiere Pro 2023.

Hmmm, that's a tricky one, not 100% sure! Maybe just record the audio seperate and then you can cut it to the video?

Whenever I record audio directly in Premiere Pro it's coming out as stereo and only in the left channel. How do I set it so my microphone only records in dual mono? Thanks!
For reference, I'm using a M-Track Duo interface and a AT2020 Audio Technical microphone
I'd need to look into this but you can change the stereo track to mono tracks and pan the left one centre? Right click on the audio track and it should give you some audio options?
@@neilcollinsrecording thanks for reply! Yes I am able to change the track after it’s recorded so that it plays the left channel in both ears. I right click on the recorded track and choose audio channels. Then I check off L for both channels.
The issue is that I have to do this for each recording which is a tedious process, I’m curious to know if there’s a way to make it so that the microphone by default records in dual mono… if that makes sense ?
what a pain in the arse :( i cannot record from the last point. if i stop recording and start again the recording cursor moves back to the beginning. what a senseless system of premier pro. crap.
or may be there is a stupid setting for that.

I'm not real savvy with computers, but I like to sing and record over a song, resulting in a recording with music and my voice. I was using creative labs soundblaster audigy fx sound suite with EAX. It had that capability and more. I was able to change keys, use different effects , it had a karaoke player. Creative labs doesn't support it anymore and i got a new computer and the computer and the program didn't transfer from the old computer. Can you help?
when I did the voice over using Premiere Pro & at same time listening my voice with headphone while recording... my voice was like in echo and like repeat what I said...

When I try a voiceover recording on PPro it starts recording / playing at the start... So I hear wharever was recorded at the start of the video. Strange.

how do I make it that I can't hear my voice slightly delayed while I record the audio?
Great video! How would I adjust the audio gain so that the audio does not clip? My usb microphone keeps clipping and I can’t find the answer anywhere for adjusting the gain so reduce the peaking / clipping
Nevermind I figured it out! Found it online after like 1 hour lol. For those of you who need to know how to adjust the gain or your microphone in Adobe premier pro 2022 BEFORE RECORDING
You have to adjust the gain in the system settings, as you can not adjust the gain for premiere pro 2022 BEFORE RECORDING THE AUDIO for mac
Directions for adjusting audio gain on mac :
System settings > sound > under “output & input “ select input tab > adjust the “input volume” which in turn will adjust the input level which will adjust the level of gain in premiere pro 2022

Hey neil how do I start recording with two channels instead of one, each time I’m recording i need to change the channel settings of the track to left and right. Is there a way to automatically start recording with two channels?

Can you meter the audio like record at -18 dB for instance?

Hi Neil. Thank you for the tuto. Unfortunately it doesn't work. Each time I depress the mic icon the recording lasts half a second.
Neil I do have one question, it seems like my audio when I'm recording is never very good. I am using a Canon EOS 50 and I have an external Microphone. Do you have any suggestions?
