Hi Edward!!! Well done and cool response to Alex's prog tag..... Nice mix of bands some kind of unknown to me and of course the big names too. If Pink Floyd is not a prog band, what the heall are they? a hardcore band?? Cool to see also Dream Theater, killer prog metal band. Also thinks that Marillion as a band that doesn't get much appreciation here in the VC. cheers and be well
Okay.. you convinced me. I need more Can in my life! I have one of those recent live sets (Brighton, maybe?) but I need to explore that early studio material. Dream Theater is my favorite band and Metropolis Part II Scenes From A Memory is my favorite album of all time. Kayak! That's a great album. Great pick with Traffic too - I totally agree with all of these! I've heard of stereolab a lot but never listened.. but this could change that. Great stuff Edward. Thanks for jumping on this - cool to see stuff I'm not familiar with as well!
Hi Alex, You might really enjoy CAN albums. In my opinion, their music is really good. I had fun doing this tag. Thanks for starting it and watching. Have a great week!!
I need to give Brand X and Dream Theater a listen. Monster Movie and Low Spark are excellent. Spot on about Floyd and jazz fusion being progressive. Enjoy your day.
Hey Edward! I've always had a hard time classifying Floyd. With a gun held to my head I guess I would call them prog, but I'd only be giving that answer to preserve my life. Love the first 3 ZZ Top albums. Nice pick with 'Low Sparks.' Love 'Misplaced Childhood.' Really enjoy the new Gilmour too! Chhers!
Hi Steve, I understand where folks are coming from about Pink Floyd. Just like RUSH, some folks have a hard time classifying them too. Thanks for watching!! Have a good week.
@@progrocktommy Good call on Rush. For me both of those bands have "prog" sensibilities, just not sure where to put them. Glad I don't file by genre....
I don't know where the bizarre notion that Pink Floyd isn't prog comes from. I'm with you on that one.
Hello Michael, I have no idea why some folks hold that notion. Maybe to be different. Thanks for watching!!
