Totally agree. I’m 57 and rap was never my thing, until BTS. Their lyrics are just so deep and meaningful, I love all their music. It’s always nice to know other older people share my experience. 💜

RM’s tracks are always amazing but they don’t tend to hit me so I don’t return to them much, but THIS is not only my fave RM track but one of my all time faves. It’s got everything; meaningful, catchy, fun to bounce around to & so hype. Good lord what a hook, and a full rap from start to finish, how badass is that? I can listen to it literally every day lol it deserves way wayyy more traffic💜

This song is actually like you said! It's a nod to their beginnings, this song uses parts (the underlying beat) of Intro on their Skool Luv Affair album which, coincidentally, is the first album I became a fan.
For the dog and pigs reference, there's a scripture that says (paraphrasing) "give the dogs what is holy, but don't throw pearls in front of a pig or they will tromp them and attack you", so he's questioning if he deserves the greatness or is he really undeserving. Interesting coming from someone who is atheist. But, Joon is deep, always!

I love how raw these lyrics are, how relatable they are. No matter your age or the stage of life you're at, if you are at all introspective, the question of what is the real, honest you comes up. And it isn't a question that ever gets answered for most people. As a southern lady would say 'Bless your heart' if you think you've figured yourself out thoroughly, because you really haven't. Also, the song is straight fire.

Reading through the other comments, remembering your face in the Smokin Out the Window reaction, and your face here, wanna say. Namjoon is a literal genius, and can get highly abstract, a quality not well-served by a semi-abstract video production like this one. The live Persona intro from the 2019 MMA's, recommended by others, is a better version. Even that was based on this concept, but Namjoon busted through that with his passion & sweat.
On both In the Soop's, Namjoon's paintings directly interpret nature - imho his fix to balance out his somewhat abstract nature. That's why his song Bicycle is expressive of who he is, and helps with intepreting him: he's on the road, any weather, no motor, moving in direct contact with RL, riding through it, sweat flying off, in the moment, mind getting grounded, heart and mind synched.
Have seen a clip of him solving a math + logic puzzle that was HIGHLY complex. For all his strong leadership he's like a kid sometimes, reflected by a slight disconnect or de-synch with the physical world, such that he doesn't drive yet, doesn't cook because he's had too many fails, and is known within BTS as the God of Destruction since sometimes he just touches something and it stops working or falls apart. When he comes to Weverse to read and answer fan messages, you know it cause your device starts dinging like mad - he can churn out 40 mini-convos in 10 minutes. He gets openly nervous behind-scenes. But he never loses it.
Contrast that with the molten fire of 70 years of layered, interwoven social and musical history in Smokin Out the Window, with its behavioral metaphors so real and grounded and funny-genuine. No wonder the difference in how you look, comparing the two reactions. Emotionally, it must have been tough to hang with this till the end. The live 2019 MMA Persona intro will partly mend the emotional gap between the two videos. Nothing will bridge the artistic gap. Imho Bruno and Anderson are the only multi-artist present day performers who can turn my head from BTS & its members.
Don't know if you saw the BTS x Megan Butter remix 3J's brief choreo. BTS and Megan will be live at the AMA's and will perform together. A dream for me. Their meetup in NYC last month was funny, and delicate, tender, with genuine intention on both sides. While the remix choreo was j-hope's idea, the remix connection was strengthened by Jimin's public warmth & respect for Megan on Twitter.

It's kind of funny - I have a bias, but ALL of them are my bias wreckers, they regularly come for me and it's NOT - ah, who am I kidding, it's perfectly OK! ;)
But that's the thing - even if your bias isn't my bias, I can totally see why he's your bias; I can understand why ANY of them would be your bias, because they're all good people, strong performers, with a unique and impressive skill set.
Back in the day when I was young and boybands were "in", I remember watching some group or other and I couldn't understand why ANYONE would have a different favourite than mine, because in most groups only one or two members were really talented/good looking/charismatic/skilled, and the rest were just sort of "there", in the background, and I could never really remember them as individuals.
