Great video! I like all the details and tips you provided . The kid’s attractions look like so much fun even for adults . :-). I hope to visit Tokyo soon .
8:01 lovely video! Please be careful eating fresh sashimi right off the fish! Sashimi needs to be properly frozen for a few days to make sure all parasites are dead. You won't be able to visually inspect all the parasites before eating it right off the fish!
We were there during the last week of November. It was quite pleasant (compared to the weather in Toronto!) and only needed a light jacket. We had one day of rain.
Hi there! Thanks for such a helpful video. May I ask how do you make reservation for Kura sushi? I can’t seem to find the info on it anywhere. Thanks so much!
The Kura we went to is a flagship location in harajuku. It has plenty of booth seating available when we went at around 6pm. I think you will be ok without a reservation. its rather complicated to make a reso for foreigners. You have register as a member first.
The fishing restaurant (link in description) was a highlight. Overall, I wouldn’t say there were any others from this trip that were particularly “must-do”. Try to focus on places that have a larger seating area and go at off-peak times to avoid the crowds as best as possible.
This is what I was thinking. Not going to disneyland right away coz i know jetlag is gonna ruin it. Hope you can share where you book your airline tickets too. Were from sfo btw
I don’t recall. We didn’t seek out a particular shopping centre, just stumbled across them. We’ve been to multiple, and they are all similar and located in the lower level of some department stores or office buildings.
Thanks for the informative video ! Do you mind if I ask how old your child was at the time of this trip? Hoping to go next spring with our then 1.5 yewr old!
Our son was ~2 yrs old at this time. In general, I’d say the older the better for Tokyo but it’s doable with any age! We’re heading there again soon with our now 3.5 yr old and our 0.5 yr old. 😌
@@lifeatlarge1 thanks a lot for the video! we are planning to go there in november with a 2,5 yo and a 4 months old as well :). Did you also visit other places in Japan and have recommendations there?
@@evakunzle9845 We did Osaka, Sapporo and Tokyo with just the one child. Have since done Tokyo with two kids. For us, Osaka has the right mix of things to do/eat/see while still being manageable to get around. Overall, Japan is our favourite place to travel with kids. Good luck! You’ll have a great time.
@@arelyhernandez6066 Have fun in Japan! We just got back from another trip to Osaka...we rented a car this time. Need those car seats if you're driving that's for sure.
@@ValerieChing865 That is a great idea! It’s unlikely I’ll get around to it though…I just have experience staying in a couple areas of the city, but more importantly, making videos is super time-consuming and I just don’t have that time these days. Sorry!
@@lifeatlarge1 How was your stay with kids in Asakusa vs. Akasaka? Would you recommend one over the other? Traveling with our 1.5 year old to Tokyo in the future!
@@TheWolfpackMama We had a change of plans and didn't end up in Asakusa this time. Instead, we stayed at the Mimaru in Kinshicho. That hotel was spacious for our family of four and it was walking distance to a couple of parks (including Kinshi Park which is awesome) and a lot of food/transit options. I would stay in Kinshicho again before Akasaka but would like to try Asakusa too.
@@lifeatlarge1 Would you say the Kinshicho location is more kid friendly compared to when you were in Akasaka? Also curious how you liked Kinshicho getting to attractions compared to Akasaka (as it seemed more central)?
@@TheWolfpackMama I’d say Kinshicho had a more approachable vibe for us. Multiple grocery stores, malls, parks, all close by. Akasaka seemed more hustle and bustle, and had a lot more restaurants and bars. I recall Akasaka was well connected to multiple train lines which is a plus. Depends on what your plans were. On our most recent trip, we didn’t venture too far since we were travelling with the baby too, so we didn’t use the train too much.
Wow, great content. So informative!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the recos! My 4yo will have a blast. I can hear her squeals of excitement already. Travelling to Tokyo soon.
We're excited for you too 😆 Enjoy!
Very well done. Really enjoyed the video!

teamlabs looks like a fun time!!
It truly is! Such a unique experience. They have other locations across the world too!
For Tokyo, of course Disneyland/sea, also Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. But in Kyoto, definitely the train museum.
This was super informative and well made! Thank you!

Definitely leave at least two days to sort out jet lag before you book anything!! We fly in/out of Toronto and use Air Canada mainly :)
Kindly share the name of the shopping with food court. I saw you posted the picture with lots of salmon roe. Wow. May I know where is it? Thanks

Train is expensive?! It's nowhere near the cost of owning/driving a car in the US!
I don’t believe I said trains were expensive. Taxis are pricey that’s for sure. But to each their own!
