The VH Platform on which all Astons from this era are built, was originally developed by Lotus. They’re known for building some of the best handling chassis ever made. Weight distribution is even and you find double wishbone suspension in all four corners. (The new double wish bone front axle is something the new 992 GT3 gets praised for currently as no 911 ever had it before). This superior chassis is the reason why Aston Martin won everything in the early 2000‘s in long distance racing including Le Mans also besing Porsches. On Top Gear the DBS went around the track quicker then the Zonda. Never underestimate the performance of an Aston. They’re beautiful, luxurious AND capable.
Good assessment have owned and driven both including variants including the 12S, I currently have a V8S Aston, I appreciate the novelty and thumbs up of its rarity. While I love the flat 6 sound, it was still better in air cooled 911's, so for me the nascar like V8 is a better sound, no losers with either and Aston resales have gone up a lot during the plague so depreciation is not the killer it once was. not comparing apples and oranges maybe guava and mangoes. Both tasty.
aston martin but with upgraded clutch and upgraded suspensio n( bilstein) remap then a contender on the trak oh and dbs brakes :) otherwise the porsche wins
Holy crap! This is the perfect video for me. I have been considering both the cars for the last few months!

I think the motor in the AM is solid, but there clutches are mondo suspect! Thanks for watching and chiming in. Be well. D
You still got your spyder ?
Oh yes, of course! Bought the AM V8V in January and still enjoying the Spyder. Not sure I could part with it - at least as I see the world today.
AM > Beetle
