at 22:40 when you're wondering what "all the touting girls call me ppippi" means, ppippi means pager in korean so it basically just means hes got girls blowing up his phone
When it comes to J-Hope I feel like you can hear that he's a dancer in how he flows. He's a big J Cole fan and modelled his name after him, he also called his mixtape Hope World and just before enlisting for his military service a few months ago he got J Cole to feature on his goodbye track to army, On The Street. My favorite rapline tracks: Outro Tear (Suga wrote this when they considered disbanding) Ddaeng Ugh Paldogangsan 💜
31:00 Im SO glad you asked this. As you mentioned before in Cypher Pt2, it sounded like Hobi (Jhope) had the flow of many influencial and talented rappers like JCole. Hobi's main inspiration was in fact JCole, he's literally his idol in life. Hobi even did a song with JCole ("On The Street" With JCole) which you should definitely check out along with more of Hobi's solos. I love your interest in Jhope! The rapline also has a few more songs that arent cyphers. "Ddaeng", "Outro: Her", and "Outro: Tear". Also a bonus "Hip Hop Phile"!!!
30:58 If you listen to BTS' song "Hip Hop Phile" you will underestand. It's such a good song where the boys talk about their love and appreciation for hip-hop! Please listen to it.
That flow of how JHope raps is called cadence. All the rappers have a gift when it comes to cadence. They can switch it, speed it up or slow it down. They are MASTER RAPPERS!
Now you need their live cypher medley. It’s a mash of all four and amazing live. Also, Ddaeng is one that you’d really enjoy, but it’s one that absolutely needs the explanation video (from DKDKTV) to accompany. It’s so full of insults that can fly over the heads of us English speakers. Aaaand, there’s a performance live of Ddaeng, where the vocal line raps it. Fully entertaining to follow up with.
Jhope is a lead dancer and naturally has an unmatched musicality and sense of the beat. He really brings special cadences through his musicality and will change his voice tone and inflection to tell the story of the song. He is really amazing… and I say that as a Suga bias ! ❤
I was at suga’s solo tour in NYC earlier this year, and he did a section of cypher pt. 4. He stopped this whole show to get in some crowd engagement- bro imagine being in a crowd of 14 thousand people, screaming “I love, I love, I love myself!” Over and over again 🤯 I will never forget the joy I felt for as long as I live
31:23 why would it be so hard to believe that he has enough musicality to come up with good cadences? He loves wu tang, biggie, fugees, j cole, drunken tiger, etc. He’s a street dancer so of course he knew what kind of music made him want to move and could pull creative flows out of himself.
He sure can and does, and i think in his later solo work hos style polished more, but he for sure got inspiration from all those who you listed in the beginning, he liked smth he for sure would sing thoae verses or try to mimic it and then he'd twist and chop and adapt them to create his music and style. That's how anything is created, you are always inspired by smth, whether it's just a flower in your garden or another work of art. People always create with set of references, they pool when they create whether it's a form or a particular colo combination, nothing exists in vacuum
@@AlexaOleksa yessss. To be inspired is normal and common; to translate all of that inspiration into your own voice/style is talent though. Hence, Hobi.
If you want actual rap songs then I recommend ddaeng, ugh( plus ddaeng and ugh explains by dkdktv) some solo songs of the rap line are Rm- joke, do you, flower field, and still life J-hope- arson, more, chicken noodle soup, and equal sign Suga also goes by August D- haeguem, August D, and daecwita. I hope you check out all the songs I’ve listed hear, thank you for the reaction.
Suga is savage! They say that Suga will tell you you're shit, RM will tell you why you're shit and J-Hope will tell you it's ok to be shit. Also Suga's speed is insane.
J-Hope has one mixtape "Hope World" and one full album "Jack in the Box". His inspiration always was J-Cole. They recorded song called "J-Hope in the street"
J hope rap has many influences, making his own style with time, that's why is so difficult to pinpoint what is it that makes him so unique and fresh, also he was mainly a dancer so that's another reason why his cadence feels like he's dancing on the beat, he sees music with a different perspective, i suggest you to listen to both of his albums or watch his performance at lollapalooza, where he picks song from both albums and also his solo projects, thank u for your reaction
I'm seeing so many good recommendations of the rap line but HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU FORGET "UGH"? Thats one "masterpiece"! Please do yourself a favour by watching them perform Ugh! They go crazy on that (especially J-Hope)! P.S: I hope you also get to check out their solo albums. The difference between the three will probably surprise you. Have a great day!
31:44 jhope is absolutely king of flows and adlibs! Like his tracks are pure ear candy! You don't even need translation to enjoy his tracks, cllaude they are so tasty💜 his vocal fluctuations are such and eargasm.
There is a famous filmed meeting between RM, Suga and members of the underground Rappers. Both RM and Suga both performed at 13 years old and had respect in the underground RAP scene but when they became idols they were torn apart to their face...told they were not rappers and wore make up like girls etc. ...these are their answer to all that.
3:24 I could be wrong but I think the term you were searching for re: j-hope is rhyme scheme... He smacks those vowels around with such finesse... Hobi raps how he moves. He hits the accent marks like nobody's business... it's the musicality for me. 🔥🔥🔥 To think he had never rapped prior to becoming a trainee?! 😮😳🤯 It's astonishing. 😎💜 P.S. The fact that you mentioned our Hope in the same breath as Eminem, Jay-Z, Drake, Kendrick n J. Cole made my freaking DAY!!! 💯
In Korean 삐삐, (that some hear as ppippi or bbibbi) Bbibbi,” a title that means “pager” in Korean and appears to refer to the messages that people leave after the beep of a pager. Basically all the girls are calling his pager
RM basically schooled the BtS members on hip hop during training . He would create playlists of 50 +songs that they would listen to at night...discuss and try to rap. Suga was already a known rapper and produces. Jhope a dancer who loved Cole World and danced
BTS debuted in 2013 as a Hip Hop Idol group. RM and SUGA were underground rappers before signing with their agency Big Hit Entertainment. And J-Hope was a street dancer from underground. He learned how to rap after signing with Big Hit, from SUGA and RM. The whole group are students of hip hop. They have an interesting story. They have been together over 10 years, and they have mastered their craft. The cyphers were in their early days as a group, from 2013 to 2016, when they were getting the most hate. J-Hope's verse just means that all the girls call him, beep beep. it isn't Pippi, that's a translation error.
Can't believe im here within a minute but i just want to say i love all your reactions ♥️ If you want more rap I'd suggest Agust D for Suga, Joke for RM, and arson or more for Jhope. They also have a few more all rapline songs like UGH! and Outro:tear if that interests you
Hobi listen to many artists but his flows are unique coz he is naturally talented and is one of the best rapper and raps in such amazing flows. we all are always looking forward to his rap part in group songs just because he brings something new in them. Creative KING ❤ listen to RUN BTS 😊
Suga and RM were underground rappers before joining BTS and Suga is one of the fastest rappers in Korea, 8.9 SPS (syllables per second). Hobi's flow is musical and soothing. He is a HUGE J. Cole fan and last year actually did a collab with him ('On the street' - J-Hope and J. Cole).
Here is a playlist that he is dancing to in his spare time, while livestreaming with ARMY. I do know that his muse is J-Cole. j-hope dance during his vlive (2021.07.26) BTS VLIVE 2021 - th-cam.com/video/DkbYNczqPns/w-d-xo.html Here are some songs. Outro: Tear - Live w/Eng subs - th-cam.com/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/w-d-xo.html BTS Rap-line - Ddaeng live w/Eng. subs - th-cam.com/video/Jsfi1PUEQWA/w-d-xo.html
BTS’ rap line never disappoints & their dedication to the craft is evident in all their songs. Some of my fav rap line songs are UGH, Ddaeng, & Outro: Tear. One of J-Hope’s biggest inspirations is J Cole & they actually have a song together called On the Street, i think you would like it. Side note if you didn’t know already: Suga also goes by Agust D with his solo work
You have to see and hear them live oh boy the stage presence is top notch. I saw they at Wembley Stadium fecking fantastic. I love how they so easily slip Rap into the group songs. There's a live concert where the Vocal line Rapped while the Rappers were encouraging. They debuted as a Hip Hop group.
all of the rap line members have their own solo careers as well, where they showcase more of their own musical sides and interests in rap! RM was underground rapper even before debuting in BTS (and actually jungkook was huge fan of him and joined the same company because of that lol). RM has his own solo songs, like Do You, Joke, Forever rain, Moonchild and Intro : Persona J-HOPE is definitely one of the most underestimated rappers in BTS, since he is one of the best dancers with great rhythm and flow in his dancing. Some of his solo songs are Outro : Ego, Daydream, Arson, HANGSANG Then there is SUGA, or also his solo/rapper name Agust D. His raps are usually more self reflecting and he talks openly about darker subjects like depression, selfharm and poor family backgrounds. He comes from very poor family and neither his parents trusted and supported his dream. He has been writing lyrics and composing for over 15 years now. Some of his solo songs are Agust D, First love, Daechiwita, Give it to me, Haegeum I hope you check some of them out!! My favorites out of these are Joke, Arson, Agust D and First love!!! They also have other songs together like UGH!, Tear and Ddaeng BTS itself has also tons of rap-sided songs like Hip Hop Phile, Spine Breaker, Ma City and Run BTS 🕺
Give it up for Hip Hop Phile! Rap line listing their influences. (I am amused that no one puts in for Outro: Her, even though rapline adores that song.)
Ugh (a BTS Rapline song) is amazing! I love that you pay attention to their lyrics, in my opinion I think their lyricism and message is their biggest strength. They’ve got substance, and while the cyphers are definitely more boastful a lot of their music talks about things like societal pressures and mental health. If you like BTS I think you should watch A Guide to BTS: the Bangtan 7! It’s a longer video but it shows you their story and I think will help you appreciate them more. It’s also one of army’s favourite videos to see reactions of!
That was a really fun reaction! I'm always interested to see folks take in all four Cyphers in one go, 'cause once you get past Cypher 1, all those songs are really meaty. Fun fact: Cyphers 1-3 were recorded over the course of, like, 16 months? right at the beginning of their careers, with Cypher 4 coming out in 2016. It's interesting that you could really see the growth in that time; Cypher 2 is next level for RM and SUGA both, and then j-hope steps up with them on Cyphers 3 and 4. Their Cypher medley is a really good showcase of that, too, and is worth watching in your own time. BTS's rapline are my faves, so I am trying to not just link you a two hour long rapline playlist and be all THAT LISTEN TO THAT. One thing I'll say is that BTS is bonkers good live, and the rapline are no exception to that; Cypher 3 becomes a whole different experience when you watch RM tear into his verse with j-hope and SUGA's ad-libs to go with it. So I'm gonna drop some maybe rarer suggestions with links, leaning into links to live performances, 'cause they're worth watching. YEAH YOU DID THESE (but LIVE) - Cypher 3 stage mix - th-cam.com/video/uk8hkK97tYk/w-d-xo.html Cypher 4 stage mix - th-cam.com/video/D_GzE2XeRzw/w-d-xo.html MUST WATCHES - UGH (live) - th-cam.com/video/6XfEDepFpAU/w-d-xo.html Hip Hop Phile/Lover (full group, live) - th-cam.com/video/a_3KCRAYAFQ/w-d-xo.html Ddaeng (live) - th-cam.com/video/Jsfi1PUEQWA/w-d-xo.html Outro: Tear (live) - th-cam.com/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/w-d-xo.html FAVES - Outro Her - th-cam.com/video/aifk9PmXfmQ/w-d-xo.html The Stars (live) - th-cam.com/video/dV2_hCe4Ecc/w-d-xo.html Rain (group, live) - th-cam.com/video/jTw-dBGb-9g/w-d-xo.html Dis-ease (group, live) - th-cam.com/video/UW8nHFQRiMA/w-d-xo.html THREE EARLY INTROS Intro: What Am I To You (RM) - th-cam.com/video/qK6VSbKLmIs/w-d-xo.html Intro: Nevermind (mostly SUGA) - th-cam.com/video/wGI0ScNzt0U/w-d-xo.html Intro: Boy Meets Evil (j-hope) - th-cam.com/video/iJJSh-eEdRk/w-d-xo.html And I'll stop before I do unintentionally make you a two-hour rapline playlist with these videos. And that's not even getting into their solo work, but I think others have got you covered there :D Thank you for your time!
Songs that only have the rap line in it together are: "HER", "TEAR", "UGH", "Ddaeng". Songs with the individual artist on the albums are: Suga: "Nevermind", "First Love", "Seesaw" J-Hope: "Boy Meets Evil", "MAMA", "Just Dance" RM: "Reflection", "Love", "Persona"
Oh hon - in addition to rapline songs on BTS albums, RM and Suga have three solo albums and J-Hope has two. Plus other non-album collabs! They are brilliant. RM's and J-Hope's are wildly different from each other. RM and Suga were underground rappers before BTS; J-Hope was a street dancer and you can hear that in the way he approaches his rapping. Lots of fantastic tracks to check out - have fun! My favourite rapline BTS track is probably Ugh! personally.
Man they have SO MANY excellent rap songs. Outro: Tear, UGH, Outro: Her, not to mention their solo mixtapes. Going by what you’ve been saying, you will probably enjoy react/listing to “Strange” by Agust D ft RM or UGH
They had a lot of wordplay, double entendre, and references too. If you wanna dissect the bars you can search “doolset cypher 1” and the same for all the cyphers. They have a lot of punchlines, even though it’s ear candy, they’re very lyrical. Especially RM 🤓
11:54 oh there is sooooo much lost in translation here. There are explanations made in the comments under reactions to these cyphers from years ago and those explanations are soooo long because there is so much meaning and double meanings, sayings, metaphors and references in the lyrics here in the cyphers but it gets lost in translation. I would link to them but I don't remember where. But I think it was in reactions from 2020 or 2019 that that user left explanations in the commetsection under a few reactions to the cyphers, I haven't seen them lately though. The user with the best explanation was "clint" something I think...
Thank you for checking this out! Thank you for giving our boys a chance! 💜 *BTS rapline is best in the k-pop industry imo, argue with the wall😂🗿🚶♀️* *Let me briefly explain BTS rapline to y'all!* *RM* is a poet. You can not change my mind. His lyricism reads, sounds and works like poetry: a few words have multiple meanings and derivate in multiple chains of thought. Every time you listen to them, you discover new details, new ideas, new insights. Even when he's being straightforward, there's still some some philosophy or revelation or a big question or an aesthetic behind them. A poem is full of passion, but every word is chosen carefully, with intention. They're puzzle pieces, every piece has a place to create the full picture. It's a form of ART. WORDS WITH INTENTION. *Suga's* lyricism is like "an arrow straight to the heart": you immediately understand the emotion he's trying to convey, you don't need to even know what he's saying to know "what you're supposed to FEEL". What he says is always interesting too, and it has layers too, but, from the first listen.... You usually feel that same way after listening to his song 1000 times. Even when the song is sociopolitical or when it displays an idea, your first impression is a STAB OF EMOTION forever tattooed in your memory. *J HOPE's* lyricism is like a playground, an amusement park. A place where magical things happen, where you are encouraged to bend the rules. It's full of bright primal colors, you walk around with bounce in your steps and inevitably feel the childlike impulse of starting to dance around, or start imitating his onomatopoeias and alibis. There's a quirky creativity in his choice of analogies and a pure-hearted kindness in his message. Even when he expresses anger or sadness, there's this sense of DYNAMIC RHYTHM that is always moving, always unpredictable and ALIVE. *EDIT: Some examples to illustrate my description:* *RM:* - "From the time everyone is born / Life is more beautiful because it uses death as the collateral payment." (Life) -"I grew a flower that can't be bloomed / In a dream that can't come true." (FAKE LOVE) -"Why do you keep trying to hide under your mask, / when even the scars made by your own mistakes mark your constellations." (Answer: Love Myself.) *SUGA:* - "If you think you're gonna crash, accelerate even harder, you idiot" (Intro: Nevermind) "Hip hop came to me gently / Like a little child looks for his mother, /it naturally permeated into my life (...) If loving this culture was a sin, would have died hundreds of times." (Hip Hop Phile) - 'To be honest, I miss you, but I'll erase you now / Because doing so hurts me less than resenting(blaming) you" (Spring Day) *J HOPE:* The standard of happiness is you, and you walk that path / I wish to fill up faith / Like a piece of cake that is simple and filling (...) I wish, could be a Piece Of Peace." (P.O.P) "Oh, I'm on top of the beat beat, wiggle wiggling. jingle jingling/roll rolling, beagle beagling (...) This is just for tasting, still a snack / My rap is a Korean meal that fills your stomach." (Cypher pt. 3) "My sin, the dog that bites and tears my resting self/ "Don't do that," although shout it out, every day I'm hung up on accomplishments." (Dis-ease) -"It's just that for once I want to draw a different picture of my life / A canvas dream // Beyond the boundary over there, let's feel it / Like the hole Alice fell into, like the path leading to Hogwarts, it'll be a world of mirages (Daydream)
If you want more from the rap line I would say watch AgustD Daechwita video. It’s my favorite from Suga as it’s both a great song and a great video. I also love D Day from his new album. My favorites from JHope are Arson and More. Both have good videos as well. As far as RM my favorites are Persona, Joke and Still Life. Still Life is half song/half rap but will show you RM’s slower more lyrical rap. Also a great video. I honestly never liked rap until I discovered the rap line in BTS(with the exception of a couple of Eminem songs). As a woman I found American rap to be way too derogatory and trashy to women. Even the female rappers in America tend to make women look trashy. I will never understand that. I have actually gone from disliking rap to being partial to the Rap line in BTS although I LOVE all 7 of them and have a huge BTS list in my Spotify. They are all multitalented and I don’t think anyone can compare to them. They are at the top of the food chain for a reason and clearly deserve to be.
Thx for an awesome reaction! I think you'd enjoy 'Ugh' live from their Busan concert and Ddaeng. :) Outro: Tear live from Wembley is amazing you will thoroughly enjoy J-Hope. That man is a born performer. th-cam.com/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/w-d-xo.html This is the link to Outro: Tear with English subs.
Doolset Lyrics has great translations with context for some cultural references in all of BTS songs! Your reactions were so great, and it was great hearing your thoughts on their styles :)
Each one of the rapline have their own mixtapes and albuma RM RM (mixtape) mono. (mixtape) Indigo (album) SUGA (Agust D) Agust D (mixtape) D-2 (mixtape) D-day (album) j-hope Hope World (mixtape) Jack In The Box (album)
J hope favorite rappers is j Cole and Kendrick Lamar he always listening to them the most 💯 🔥 Other rapline songs Outro tear Ddaeng UGH Nevermind RM songs Persona Joke Monster Do you Change ft wale J hope songs Hansang Arson Airplane 1 Daydream Baseline Suga aka AgustD songs AgustD Daechwita Shadow Haegeum First love
Psssst - the rappers have 8 solo albums out. Yes 8. Five are mixtapes, really high quality original albums, self produced and released for free on SoundCloud for ARMY. Three are albums produced with their label. ~ RM ~ RM (mixtape) Mono (mixtape) Indigo (album) ~ Suga/Agust D ~ Agust D (mixtape) D2 (mixtape) D-Day (album) ~ j-hope ~ Hope World (mixtape) Jack in the Box. (album) Jimin also has a solo album out called Face. They also all have other original singles and covers released free on SoundCloud which are not on their albums. They have also all done a bunch of collabs with other artists.
Each album and mixtape has at least two high quality music videos off of it. BTS as a group has about 20 albums out and there are many more music videos you didn’t watch. But where they really shine is live and you should really watch live performances.
Thanks, Brochia for your Reactions. 💜 Psst: J-Hope looks up to J. Cole 💜 Here's the LIVE Cypher Performance with English Subs, but watch on your own (don't react in case of Copyright Strikes): th-cam.com/video/FT930XF1vzA/w-d-xo.html
Hip Hop Phile will answer your influences question. Born Singer, a J Cole Born Sinner remake, continues [They made this within days after their 2013 debut, with updates through the years at major performances in 2015, 2017, 2022. There is a stage mix of 2015/2017 concerts that is a favorite recommendation to reactors, but just know that the "choreography" was intentional and opposite in the two different performances(it always bothers me about the stage mix that this intentional choreography move gets lost because there was a solid meaning behind it.)] Gotta see Cypher Medley now, and Outro:Tear Live at Wembley(black outfits). There's absolutely nothing like 60,000+ people all singing along with Cypher 4's "I love myself"/"I know myself" lines
Just stumbled upon your channel... If you haven't already you should definitely check out Hip Hop Lover/Phile, a shout out to all their Hip Hop role models. It'll tell you a lot about their love of and background in regards to the genre. These guys are the real deal. 💜
There is so many. The rappers have their own mix tapes and albums as well as together. I recommend DDEANG, UGH, Tear and Baepsae for solo work I recommend wildflower by RM, Heageum by Agust D and airplane by Jhope.
i love watching full album reactions so I'd really appreciate if u could react to their solo albums🤗🤗 I'd also watch love yourself and map of the soul series too but i don't want to overwhelm you lol
Also for all non-official videos of their music (such as lyric vids) the audio quality on the uploads are usually lesser (if not downright bad sometimes) so for some songs defo give em a go on official streaming for the full sonic experience
J-hope is the dance leader of BTS so he mostly a dancer and you can feel it in his flow that he ride the beat in a unique way and he has his own style.. You should definitely watch j-hope live performance at Lollapalooza where he's headlining Lollapalooza and Army called it Hobipalloza (j-hope = Hobi = Jung Hoseok = Jay) J-hope Lollapalooza eng sub part 1 th-cam.com/video/BDhHGIYY5HY/w-d-xo.html J-hope Lollapalooza eng sub part 2 th-cam.com/video/ler3CbM9aoI/w-d-xo.html
Might be late to the game with this answer, but you were asking about who they (or specifically J-Hope) listen to in their spare time. You should check out Hip Hop phile, in that song they name their inspirations, so it won't cover them all, but you'll get the chance to know some of who they draw inspiration from.
The BTS rap line was looked down by the Korean hip-hop community, and these cyphers were their testaments as what you would say "I rap better than you. I would chew you out and spit you out." :D
j-hope is notorious for making non rhyming words rhyme . And the one that sounds perfectly like studio sounds live … dancing and hiking with no hearing any breathing unless he wants it .
I just binged watched all your reactions and you do a great job understanding their lyrics. I also love your honest love for their music. Also jimin, in fact all the members, have solo songs you should check out too. They’re still in bts but they let the members release their own stuff on separate and group albums. Welcome to the rabbit hole called bts content.
FR LIKE If I was those haters or those "people", those so-called "seniors", I would def cry my eyes out bro ain't no way you can escape from the BTS Rap Line's bars especially Suga lol
j-hope listens to every kind of music out there but j-hope is old school rap . He is true blue hip hop. he is j-hip hop hope. His cadance is incredible and his writing is just as versatile and his financing is same way. Not only is he considered one of the be rappers in the world and has been for years along side the other 2 rappers but he writes his own music as well as BTS Ku is just like the other 2 rappers and he composes and produces his music and BTS music . J-hope is perfect in all dance . Hip hop, acrobat , ballet etc . I agree and so glad you said this about Suga. He is awesome but some people don’t know hip hop and think hard and fast is hip hop . All 3 can do this but only Suga does it alllll the time . Yes listen to j-hope versa and baseline , more , arson . Listen to j-hopes Hope World and Jack in The Box and chicken noodle soup . And Blue Side !
Tear is one of rap songs they have, u should check it out (the live performance), and arm has a song called Love which is similar to what u r looking for
Btw Suga and RM were underground rappers. JHope was a dancer but learned to rap during his trainee days Suga and Supreme Boi was in a rap competition and Suga placed 2nd and Supreme Boi placed 1st
I never knew Suga could rap fast😭😭
BTS rapline is without a doubt to me , the best! In my own petsonal preference ,Suga nailed it from Cypher 2,3,&4! . He is a beast. Okay RM is no doubt fast and beautifully poetically rap. JHOPE is a product of RM and Suga since he started auditioning in bighit as a dancer but not a rapper but he developed his own style of rap learning from RM and Suga and he became one of the best !
But Suga man, to me he is another level!
I love Suga's rap not only because he is so darn a beast when he rap but i also like his style the way he rap and more so he is spitting a bar with his lyrics.

Suga has a lot of beautiful music. Its raw but honest and on point.
he got no chill on the beat which is ironic. when you hear him speak, he's literally taking his time, he talks slow and he's the chillest person ever.
I recommend to you AGUST D by AGUST D
I’m surprised, btw goes crazy but I definitely recommend agust d by agust d

"Suga think he's Jimin" got me. LOL
Pippi could have also been made to sound like a phone Beep Beep” so he says all the ladies call me beep beep. Girls call him uppp 🔥
Jhope is a lead dancer and naturally has an unmatched musicality and sense of the beat. He really brings special cadences through his musicality and will change his voice tone and inflection to tell the story of the song. He is really amazing… and I say that as a Suga bias ! ❤
It hurts my soul everytime someone misses Suga laughing at the end of Cypher 2 😫
Thank you. Had the same thought.
If you want actual rap songs then I recommend ddaeng, ugh( plus ddaeng and ugh explains by dkdktv) some solo songs of the rap line are
Rm- joke, do you, flower field, and still life
J-hope- arson, more, chicken noodle soup, and equal sign
Suga also goes by August D- haeguem, August D, and daecwita.
I hope you check out all the songs I’ve listed hear, thank you for the reaction.
Jhope's 1VERSE, HANGSANG and BASELINE pls!!
By flower field did you mean wildflower? 🧐
@@dysmissme7343 yes I don’t know how I got that so wrong it was just stuck in my head ~flower field~
Suga is savage! They say that Suga will tell you you're shit, RM will tell you why you're shit and J-Hope will tell you it's ok to be shit. Also Suga's speed is insane.
I really like this comment. It's 💯.
As a j-hope bias, I appreciate how much you love j-hope. All our boys are amazing of course.
Borahae!
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
31:44 jhope is absolutely king of flows and adlibs! Like his tracks are pure ear candy! You don't even need translation to enjoy his tracks, cllaude they are so tasty💜 his vocal fluctuations are such and eargasm.
Suga aka Agust D has three mixtapes "Agust D", "D-2" and "D-day"
There is a famous filmed meeting between RM, Suga and members of the underground Rappers. Both RM and Suga both performed at 13 years old and had respect in the underground RAP scene but when they became idols they were torn apart to their face...told they were not rappers and wore make up like girls etc. ...these are their answer to all that.
Sometimes I'm nervous when Suga rap. This man not breathing when he's chewing the haters n he can rap fast as hell man. Love Yoongi 😊
I always heard it as 'call me beep me' but then again I watched Kim Possible as a kid...
If you're curious about the rap line's inspirations I recommend you to listen to "Hip Hop Phile" where they express their love for hiphop
RM basically schooled the BtS members on hip hop during training
So many translation issues 😓
Can't believe im here within a minute but i just want to say i love all your reactions ♥️
If you want more rap I'd suggest Agust D for Suga, Joke for RM, and arson or more for Jhope. They also have a few more all rapline songs like UGH! and Outro:tear if that interests you
❤️I got you
@brochiache early congrats on the 10k btw🎉
I THANK YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE❤️
And Ddaeng too!!
And hip hop phile!!
Cole).
I highly recommend watching the live version of Cypher Pt3 from their recent Busan concert. It's so hype!
Ohhhh fuck yeah!! 🔥
22:28 ppippi is the sound of the phone ringing😂😂💜
J-hope literally has the best flow .. the rapline are so talented and have different styles but J-hope is my favourite
he cutted off Yoongis laugh😭
Here is a playlist that he is dancing to in his spare time, while livestreaming with ARMY. I do know that his muse is J-Cole.
j-hope dance during his vlive (2021.07.26) BTS VLIVE 2021 - th-cam.com/video/DkbYNczqPns/w-d-xo.html
Here are some songs.
Outro: Tear - Live w/Eng subs - th-cam.com/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/w-d-xo.html
BTS Rap-line - Ddaeng live w/Eng. subs - th-cam.com/video/Jsfi1PUEQWA/w-d-xo.html
Side note if you didn’t know already: Suga also goes by Agust D with his solo work
wow i can’t believe i’m this late 😭 anyway glad you’re reacting to the rap line, they’re amazing
You need to listen to Jhope's hard solo songs 1VERSE, HANGSANG and BASELINE please!!!!!!!!!!! You will love it! Cant wait!!
22:27 I heard that it’s supposed to be like a phone/pager going off. “All the unnies call me *beep beep*”
all of the rap line members have their own solo careers as well, where they showcase more of their own musical sides and interests in rap!
RM was underground rapper even before debuting in BTS (and actually jungkook was huge fan of him and joined the same company because of that lol). RM has his own solo songs, like Do You, Joke, Forever rain, Moonchild and Intro : Persona
J-HOPE is definitely one of the most underestimated rappers in BTS, since he is one of the best dancers with great rhythm and flow in his dancing. Some of his solo songs are Outro : Ego, Daydream, Arson, HANGSANG
Then there is SUGA, or also his solo/rapper name Agust D. His raps are usually more self reflecting and he talks openly about darker subjects like depression, selfharm and poor family backgrounds. He comes from very poor family and neither his parents trusted and supported his dream. He has been writing lyrics and composing for over 15 years now. Some of his solo songs are Agust D, First love, Daechiwita, Give it to me, Haegeum
I hope you check some of them out!! My favorites out of these are Joke, Arson, Agust D and First love!!!
They also have other songs together like UGH!, Tear and Ddaeng
BTS itself has also tons of rap-sided songs like Hip Hop Phile, Spine Breaker, Ma City and Run BTS 🕺
i was army during 2015-2020 and now i am more of casual listener so i might have missed some newer songs tho ‼️
Give it up for Hip Hop Phile! Rap line listing their influences.
(I am amused that no one puts in for Outro: Her, even though rapline adores that song.)
again really enjoyed your reaction!! :D I laughed a bit too hard when you said: ''The beat going nowhere.''😭
he likes yoongi and jimin now who's gonna tell him about tony montana???
Ugh (a BTS Rapline song) is amazing! I love that you pay attention to their lyrics, in my opinion I think their lyricism and message is their biggest strength. They’ve got substance, and while the cyphers are definitely more boastful a lot of their music talks about things like societal pressures and mental health. If you like BTS I think you should watch A Guide to BTS: the Bangtan 7! It’s a longer video but it shows you their story and I think will help you appreciate them more. It’s also one of army’s favourite videos to see reactions of!
Hobi's CD becomes available tomorrow. Can't wait to order.
They have their solos and their styles are so different! Listen to them when you have a chance!
YESS IF YOU WANT MORE OF THE RAPLINE YOU SHOULD REACT TO DDAENG AND UGH💜🛐
YEAH YOU DID THESE (but LIVE) -

And I'll stop before I do unintentionally make you a two-hour rapline playlist with these videos. And that's not even getting into their solo work, but I think others have got you covered there :D Thank you for your time!
Girls call him pipi as in his phone keeps ringing 😂😂
You have to see the cypher medley live it’s amazing
Songs that only have the rap line in it together are:
"HER", "TEAR", "UGH", "Ddaeng".
Songs with the individual artist on the albums are:
Suga: "Nevermind", "First Love", "Seesaw"
J-Hope: "Boy Meets Evil", "MAMA", "Just Dance"
RM: "Reflection", "Love", "Persona"
Oh hon - in addition to rapline songs on BTS albums, RM and Suga have three solo albums and J-Hope has two. Plus other non-album collabs! They are brilliant. RM's and J-Hope's are wildly different from each other. RM and Suga were underground rappers before BTS; J-Hope was a street dancer and you can hear that in the way he approaches his rapping. Lots of fantastic tracks to check out - have fun! My favourite rapline BTS track is probably Ugh! personally.
Jhope loves jcole, but since jhope was a dancer first, I feel he comes up with very unique rhythms and flows.
Man they have SO MANY excellent rap songs. Outro: Tear, UGH, Outro: Her, not to mention their solo mixtapes. Going by what you’ve been saying, you will probably enjoy react/listing to “Strange” by Agust D ft RM or UGH
JHope is my hope ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
*BTS rapline is best in the k-pop industry imo, argue with the wall😂🗿🚶♀️*
*Let me briefly explain BTS rapline to y'all!*
*RM* is a poet.
*EDIT: Some examples to illustrate my description:*
*RM:*
- "From the time everyone is born / Life is more beautiful because it uses death as the collateral payment." (Life)
-"I grew a flower that can't be bloomed / In a dream that can't come true." (FAKE LOVE)
-"Why do you keep trying to hide under your mask, / when even the scars made by your own mistakes mark your constellations." (Answer: Love Myself.)
*SUGA:*
- "If you think you're gonna crash, accelerate even harder, you idiot" (Intro: Nevermind)
"Hip hop came to me gently / Like a little child looks for his mother, /it naturally permeated into my life (...) If loving this culture was a sin, would have died hundreds of times." (Hip Hop Phile)
- 'To be honest, I miss you, but I'll erase you now / Because doing so hurts me less than resenting(blaming) you" (Spring Day)
*J HOPE:*
The standard of happiness is you, and you walk that path / I wish to fill up faith / Like a piece of cake that is simple and filling (...) I wish, could be a Piece Of Peace." (P.O.P)
"Oh, I'm on top of the beat beat, wiggle wiggling. jingle jingling/roll rolling, beagle beagling (...) This is just for tasting, still a snack / My rap is a Korean meal that fills your stomach." (Cypher pt. 3)
"My sin, the dog that bites and tears my resting self/ "Don't do that," although shout it out, every day I'm hung up on accomplishments." (Dis-ease)
-"It's just that for once I want to draw a different picture of my life / A canvas dream // Beyond the boundary over there, let's feel it / Like the hole Alice fell into, like the path leading to Hogwarts, it'll be a world of mirages (Daydream)
You should definitely watchh agust D solo songs (suga) and the other members also have their solo songs
That man is a born performer.
th-cam.com/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/w-d-xo.html
This is the link to Outro: Tear with English subs.
The cyphers were a response to haters and the rapline killed it
Doolset Lyrics has great translations with context for some cultural references in all of BTS songs! Your reactions were so great, and it was great hearing your thoughts on their styles :)

Everyone in the rapline has solo albums and many songs...
Really recommend checking them out
You should definitely check out the live performances..they're even better live!
"Pippi" is an onomatopoeia, if u see before that he says "all the touting girls call me" so its like the sound of a phone 😭
Psssst - the rappers have 8 solo albums out. Yes 8.
Five are mixtapes, really high quality original albums, self produced and released for free on SoundCloud for ARMY. Three are albums produced with their label.
~ RM ~
RM (mixtape)
Mono (mixtape)
Indigo (album)
~ Suga/Agust D ~
Agust D (mixtape)
D2 (mixtape)
D-Day (album)
~ j-hope ~
Hope World (mixtape)
Jack in the Box. (album)
Jimin also has a solo album out called Face.
Cole 💜
Here's the LIVE Cypher Performance with English Subs, but watch on your own (don't react in case of Copyright Strikes): th-cam.com/video/FT930XF1vzA/w-d-xo.html
Suga (aka Agust D) is one of the fastest Rappers in South Korea
If you listen to Hip Hop Phile. The rap line mentions who their inspirations are. Its no secret though that JHope is a fan of J Cole.
Hip Hop Phile will answer your influences question. Born Singer, a J Cole Born Sinner remake, continues [They made this within days after their 2013 debut, with updates through the years at major performances in 2015, 2017, 2022. There is a stage mix of 2015/2017 concerts that is a favorite recommendation to reactors, but just know that the "choreography" was intentional and opposite in the two different performances(it always bothers me about the stage mix that this intentional choreography move gets lost because there was a solid meaning behind it.)]
Gotta see Cypher Medley now, and Outro:Tear Live at Wembley(black outfits).
There's absolutely nothing like 60,000+ people all singing along with Cypher 4's "I love myself"/"I know myself" lines
90’s Hip hop, ur exactly spot on!! 💯🎤
WELCOME TO THE RAP LINE! So looking forward to you seeing more...and they have more!
i love watching full album reactions so I'd really appreciate if u could react to their solo albums🤗🤗 I'd also watch love yourself and map of the soul series too but i don't want to overwhelm you lol
You should definitely watch j-hope live performance at Lollapalooza where he's headlining Lollapalooza and Army called it Hobipalloza (j-hope = Hobi = Jung Hoseok = Jay)
J-hope Lollapalooza eng sub part 1

Might be late to the game with this answer, but you were asking about who they (or specifically J-Hope) listen to in their spare time. You should check out Hip Hop phile, in that song they name their inspirations, so it won't cover them all, but you'll get the chance to know some of who they draw inspiration from.
I wish you had done ddaeng by them in this video. I’ve been obsessed with that song for a while haha
BTS RAPLINE ON TOP FR
j-hope is rue blue hip hop rapper but he does come up with his own as well and is incredible .
The BTS rap line was looked down by the Korean hip-hop community, and these cyphers were their testaments as what you would say "I rap better than you. I would chew you out and spit you out." :D
The best revenge for haters is success💜💜💜
j-hope is notorious for making non rhyming words rhyme . And the one that sounds perfectly like studio sounds live … dancing and hiking with no hearing any breathing unless he wants it .
Yessir, w reaction🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just binged watched all your reactions and you do a great job understanding their lyrics. I also love your honest love for their music. Also jimin, in fact all the members, have solo songs you should check out too. They’re still in bts but they let the members release their own stuff on separate and group albums. Welcome to the rabbit hole called bts content.
FR LIKE If I was those haters or those "people", those so-called "seniors", I would def cry my eyes out bro ain't no way you can escape from the BTS Rap Line's bars especially Suga lol
23:18 if it's the Pippi I'm thinking about then it's Pippi Longstockings or Pippi Långstrump, a swedish book character. Look her up ☺️
j-hope listens to every kind of music out there but j-hope is old school rap .
