I carry the supertool 300 everyday for work. It's a fantastic multitool. After work I switch it out for its little brother. The Rebar. The Rebar is also a fantastic multitool.
After the 3rd time the jaws fell out of my Gerbers, i switched to Leatherman. Ive owned the wave in the past, & was looking to get another wave. Got to tge store & all they had was the Super Tool 300. Thank god the wave wasnt in stock that evening. The Super Tool 300 is very robust & durable. The jaws not flexing was where i fell in love!!!! Super Tool 300 has became with edc tool now. I wear it everywhere i go. My only regret.... i didnt learn this sooner
I just bought a super tool 300. I like it. I bought it because my dad has had a supertool for almost 20 years. His had USA stamp on the pliers, and Portland Oregon on the side. I was slightly disappointed that mine doesn't have these stamps. But I agree with you, supertool is one of leathermans best!
I've been carrying a Super Tool, since about 2005, I often think I want something else but the super tool is a very strong tool and does everything I need. I really think that the super tool is the best leatherman they make.
All you need is a 1/4 generic adapter to attach to the Philips on your ST300 and you'll have an even more powerful tool. I just ordered one on amazon that even uses ball bearings and paid half of what you would normally pay for the Leatherman bit adapter and it's better quality.
I've had this tool since 1998. Lost it earlier this year, while working on a vehicle on roadside at night. I felt lost. Went to buy a new multitool last week. Tried them all, and wasn't happy with anything other than a ST300, which I then bought immediately. These things are super tough !
I have the 300m super tool. I feel the same way. I would say for work and to carry for work everyday U can’t beat the supertool. It’s tool set is exactly what I would need in a pinch, any other tools u would need a tool box. The tool set is perfect for edc. Far superior to the surge imo. Slimmer more streamlined and efficient
I had its grandpa the Super Tool which I bought second hand and made in 1997 but I lost it 3 days ago. I still feel sad up to this day. It was a classic and durable.
I originally owned the Surge. It is a badass tool. Recently picked up a Rebar and love how small and easy to carry it is. The Rebar is very tough for how small it is. I will be buying its big brother ST 300 soon.
Nice video ! I have the rebar and the supertool 300 in Germany one hand mode is forbidden by law , so to be sure to stay away from trouble both are perfect that being said , they are great the rebar is easier to carry. but you get used to the supercool 300 as well and it is not a big problem. for heavier tasks definitely the supertool 300 ! But the rebar gets 90 % of the jobs done if not more. the options from Victorinox are also pretty good offering amazing quality. but for now I am happy with my tools.
I have a Wave for work, mostly because I need the interchangeable driver bits for my glass breaker. I carry a Rebar as EDC but i was doing my kitchen renovation and I wanted something a little more stout for some tasks there and ordered a Super Tool 300 for my tool box.
You can put the Rebar pliers i. The wave (if you do it and the straight edge knife had issue opning or closing take apart and turn the pliers over / switch the handles and it works )
I use the Supertool 300 every day. I also broke the small flat blade screw driver, but I just re-ground it into the shape I wanted, worked out pretty well. Good review!
I bought mine almost 20 years ago after loosing the original one which I like too very much, and found it in my truck years later so I have two now the original it’s a bit smaller but very good
I was already planning on getting this one, especially since there is a military and explosives expert version of this, although this one is the most useful for the average Joe. Might get it in Black if they have it, but I like my tools and knives heavy so I don't mind. If I buy something that's metal I want it to feel like metal, I don't like the lightweight stuff that feels like it's plastic. Of course my bags are always unbelievably heavy because of that. Nice review. Maybe mention the price and that it's made in the US, or maybe post an Amazon link below, or better yet one to an independent hardware store. Knife stores like Blade HQ and Blade Ops sell them as well, they probably need the money more than Amazon.
It's a great tool. The flat blade screwdrivers do seem to break easily though, but with the warranty it's not a worry for me. Thanks for the advice. I decided one day I wanted to try doing youtube and eagerly made this review. I realized after I could have done it a whole lot better but that's the fun in it. I was going to delete but I think it will be fun too look back on it as I progress. Thanks Again!
That tool that you didn’t know the name of is an “Awl”. Literally made for poking holes in things… like leather belts. 😂. The hole is for a way to stitch things with thread or cabling of sorts. Many videos on this. Also used as a stiff, sharp pokey thing. 👍
I have the surge and wave plus but I want a supertool300 because theres no tools to lose people dont know how wonderful that it. Of they lose thier bits for the exchangers or even the surges jigsaw adapter if u lose ur saw and u need it then ur screwed.
Your comment is hilarious because i dont lose anything and very particular on where things are OCD is a terrible thing, iv never even lost the bits but iv heard of people losing them and if im hunting in the woods i dont want the possibility of losing anything for emergencies. @assordante2205
@@devatwell334 iv also heard that but it is bs since the t shank adapter blades physically cant just get lost unless someone would purposefully take it off and the bits from the bit exchanger can fall off but it requires extreme impact (11feet i know from experience) and only when the tool is out.
Just got this one last week. Wanted a surge, but those were out of stock. Tried the wave then the ST300. Must say that the wave felt like a flimsy toy compared to the ST300
I have this and also surge. I decided to keep this and sold my surge. Surge is just too heavy for my carry. I have several other leatherman but speaking of big tool...i think sp300 is really nice! Not too heavy but pretty solid.
The leatherman super tool 300 is a very good multi tool very strong 💪 it will last for years all leatherman multi tool's are good i go back and forth between the leatherman surge and leatherman super tool 300 my leatherman surge comes with bit kits and ratchet driver so what ever I'm doing that day but both are very good multi tool's
I have one and carry it next to my wallet every day. It is large and I use it often, 'it would feel odd without it. I had a smaller Leatherman but wanted that wood saw.
Is this any different in quality from the Rebar? I had seen many rebars that had uneven handles especially when closed. Also the tools had a lot of movement when locked open. These things drove me crazy and sold all of them.
My Rebar is like you've said. Slightly movements of the handles when closed and not perfectly alligned when closed.. hard tools on one side and almost loose on other. I ve read of many people had these same problems with rebar and super tool 300.. I think its a trouble of these models and a lack in quality control of " cheapers" model, that arent cheap

Keep this up man. Your personality is easy going which makes this video easy to watch. Get after it buddy. Enjoyed it.

You got right to the point, no messing around. Good Job!
I also have a ST 300 it is fantastic I use it a lot best leatherman made if you have big hands it makes a perfect fit!!! 😊
I went the surge for outside accessible tools an smooth handles when open in use.

I carry a wave for EDC, tge Supertool 300 for work and use around the yard.
Keep the good videos Sir, nice job!... I'm going for a ST300 soon.
great review, helped me make a decision on which leatherman to get
hi from Italy, I agree with you and I'm going to receive my st300 in few days. I already have a Rebar that I use everyday, great multitools.
Great video, great content, very helpful n informative. Thx for sharing mate

You just voided the warranty by doing that
@@infunerous666 - Yes, I did, but it's an older tool and was given to me, so not too worried about it.

Great video, thanks for making it :)
Once you use a st300 you can not go back to smaller models
I know it. The smaller ones seem like toys after you use these. 👍
I don’t know what an awl is called but atleast u know it’s used for making holes lol
You from Massachusetts?

Yes, this is a heavy duty tool and is made with higher build quality. I can guarentee that this tool will make it through about anything.
The Supertool isn't the only big unit I carry on my person.
That loop is a carry ring for a lanyard
Nice video
I was gonna get this one then I saw the surge, both are great.
yes but not taking price into consideration the surge IS much better(I own both)

Made in USA!??????
Oregon I believe
In chinese USA...!

It's a Remer an awl
Go the surge… way better
Not true....
Surge you can lose tools off it then the exchangers are useless
