'My Heart Overfloweth' as the saying goes ~ Thank you Richard and Julia for filming this truly WonderFull interview with Simon at his WoodLand Paradise ~ Synchronistic that I am watching this on the evening of the New Moon, which represents, the start of another chapter, new beginnings, fresh opportunities ~ Whilst listening to this I'm thinking about my Son and his Partner who have for many months been trying to find a way to keep their own flock of rare breed Chickens, 3 Turkeys, 2 Dogs a Budgie and her chicks and a few other little four legged furry house pets from being evicted from their small bungalow and garden which they rent from a housing association who are not too happy about them keeping livestock in their garden, despite having visited them and being very impressed at the way they are being cared for !! I will send them the link to this video as it might just give them some InSpiritation and a sense that there is Allways Light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how dark it might seem to be for them currently ~ ✨
This video was so up-lifting. It can become very tedious listening to all the doom and gloom ( which we are undoubtedly experiencing in this crazy world at the moment .... although we definitely have to address the tyranny ) Simon seems such a wonderful human being and I would imagine just being around him and his beautiful homestead evokes a true sense of peace and serenity. We all need to be gravitating towards this kind of " natural "existence. Contentment is imperative to every human being and connecting to Mother Earth resets us upon our intended path. I understand there are those who prefer the " modern, " technological world ( or rather ; they are programmed to believe they do ) but personally, I most definitely yearn for Simon's way of life. The natural woodland sounds produce the most beautiful symphony, played by the most accomplished musicians .... unlike the mayhem of City life and its chaotic insanity. Lovely stuff. Thank you Richard, Julia and Simon for bringing a wee piece of sanity into my week. 🙏
Just brilliant! Thank you gents! We have developed a children and families outdoor learning space over several years. We build our curriculum/themes/activities around each character and their inbuilt fascination and synergy with nature early on. It builds skills and early understanding for our youngest children for all of their lives. Come visit with van when the time feels right, you would be so welcome, TT
I love how on Simons channel he has addressed the issue of finances. These corporations that have grown too big and too greedy are gradually swallowing everything up. We must take action and stand behind our actions ❤
We need to recapture much of what we have lost since the period of Merry England between 1400 - 1700. What Simon is doing is very much a big part of that.
Think about it for a moment. If you have kids, there's a LOT more to take into account if you're planning to find somewhere remote to live off grid. More food security needed, proximity to schools (unless home schooled). The fact that the kids may be very unhappy about the prospect if all they are used to is a modern lifestyle with all the mod cons & indoctrinated by tv/internet/school/friends etc. Also, it's one thing choosing as an adult to "rough it" in the initial stages while starting from scratch, but not trivial to drag your kids into - even though it may be much better for them long term.
@@christhesnaildriver That's very true and Richard is just being realistic. I do hope Julia's children have been brought up with nature to some degree in which case they will adapt.
Simon said “just being” and I totally agree. What could be better for our mind, body and spirit. Thank you gentlemen andthe lovely Julia! from the US Susan

The most important 'Grid' to get off is the legal grid. Because that is how the 'state' control you. after that It takes a bit longer to get off the fear'grid'. But is worth it in the long run.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. Henry David Thoreau

Would defo need to stock up on Long Johns!!! Another excellent interview. Thank you Richard, Julia, Simon and birds 🪶
Compulsory purchase is a factor, they are chipping away at the farm land local to me using CP to build motorways and housing. There’s not a jot the land owners can do unless we push for a complete system change.
@@annapachaclarke2392 Where’s the evidence I don’t see it. We’re getting to the end when digital currency will be implemented and at that point you can barter but they will control what you buy and sell.
Your right Simon about chickens being jungle birds, South East Asian woodlands are full of them, they have a wonderful gamey taste as opposed to domesticated ones.
I think you may have found your niche Richard and Julia. He has a beautiful set up. I have lived this way for the past 34 yrs albeit much more rustic and rougher due to lack of finances and losing my husband in 2006. I CAN'T live in a town or city. Everyone always said I should have been born a hundred years ago and just couldn't understand why I chose this lifestyle as it's so much work and lacking convenience's😂. I told them I didn't think about choosing it, it just felt right and came natural to me. I'd honestly take living in a tent in the woods before I'd ever live in a city or town.
Another great video, cracking setup This, love the work You do Richard and Simon the woodlander is a lovely bloke. It’s long overdue community and collectivism, we all have a power to do this, but these communities are vital. 💪🏻🇬🇧
I commented on Simons actual channel and said I want to join in! I grew up in the country with horses and I have always wanted to go back! Haven't been able to afford to buy land! This is such a good idea! I'm in the US but I would move there in a heartbeat to join in on a collective land buy. Ive thought often about how great it would be to live in an "Intentional Community" or commune if you will, where everyone has a job and contributes based on their skills/knowledge. Where everyone relies on each other but also helps take care of each other.
I love the idea of it too. I think people who are willing to chip in and help each other, it would form a strong community bond. We have lost this in our modern world, for the most part.
This looks like heaven to me! I know it's harder work living this way but the benefits to our health and wealth of wellbeing and are untold 🌳🐔🌱 Thank you for sharing. I live in the middle of nowhere already but to live in a cabin in the woods is the dream 🏡
You are so good at waxing lyrical Richard. You could sell anything with your natural enthusiasm. What a wonderful life out there. I want to do this so much. I am on the cusp using your enthusiasm Richard and Simon. Thank you for my sweet dreams that will push me forward.
He makes a good point early on about different people having talents in specific areas, e.g. someone is good at growing vegetables, someone is good at rearing chickens. There is this recognition of the individual and the collective. It seems to me that the opportunity cost of developing a talent both makes us individual specialists, and makes us dependent on each other, therefore brings about a collective.
Thank you, Richard and Simon, and the beautiful Julia, thank you! a great interview, you are all giving hope to many! Trying to stay hopeful in Manitoba, Canada
You’ve got to get fit. Strong back and a good work ethic is hugely important. It’s a go go go lifestyle for periods of time, and then feet up and planning for the next go go go period. Bless you.
Good stuff. We bought 10 acres a few years ago,no water electricity or gas. Water was a problem especially for our animals lived on it for about 6 months in a caravan but the problem was the local council (planning "laws") and envious neighbors who were snitches. I might add country folk were brilliant but yuppies resented we were going to live country life for a fraction yes we're bitter. I might say poultry,Polly tunnel for vegetable growing are the best way also consider a couple of pigs a good hardy animal. Yes we should return to the soil and beat this wicked system.
Richard u look like u have been a city person i could be wrong its good to see u asking questions about lifestyle changes animals gardens water using technology finding our path of rewarding journey love your show hope to see more of this thanks NZ
This woodland reminds me of the Cathedral in Barcelona. Sagrada Familia. Inside that Cathedral it looks similar, plant-like and organic and this seems (on camera) to project a similar serenity. To live like this, if you are that kind of person, is living a dream. Well done sir. It is interesting that the establishment seems to always want to find obstacles they can throw in our way, even when you want to be alone on your own land, they cannot leave you alone. The human species, as we have seen in the recent "pandemic" has been literally polluted by regulation, big pharma, fast food, big farming, bad health guidance and over regulation, whilst we have been squeezed into little boxes and new builds where the garage is actually too small to park your modern cars. Architects (if they are even qualified) should be ashamed of themselves.
I watch all of your videos and think you are a credit to the people! Your delivery and sense of humour is refreshing! I’ve really enjoyed watching this and long to do what this very resourceful man is doing. Another great video Richard 👌

Loved seeing your place in the woods. Living the dream! :)
This is many a dream made real. ✨️ respect to this man. Oh wow trying to change it from 4 to 10 years....
Wow!! Finally Woodlander made it to Richard! All hail to Simon
Wonderful interview with Simon. Thankyou for sharing your wonderful life with us. Thanks gentlemen.
It is good to see you paying Simon a visit, it makes all that he and you say all that more real to everyone, keep positive.
HE'S ALSO A VESPA 🛵 MAN , GOOD ON YOU SIR ! 👍🏻😎
We do need a pre "civil war " renaissance
Nature feeds the soul, you'll never know anything more pure, more true or more perfect!
It's lovely that Julia has children! Not awkward Richard naughty. Very rarely do you messup ☀️👍🐝🌾🌱😊😊😊😊
Everyone tells you who they are, and when they do, listen.
@@christhesnaildriver Most children actually adapt very well, as long as they are loved and cared for.
Yeah I caught that too…..”Unfortunately Julia has children” 😳
Kids would love it, they can help with the chickens too
Brilliant! Fascinating retreat. Well Done 👏 🎉
Simon said “just being” and I totally agree. What could be better for our mind, body and spirit. Thank you gentlemen andthe lovely Julia! from the US Susan
Richard Vobes is unbelievably good at this.
Yes, I feel lucky of found this channel and his other one THE ENGLISH COUPLE
Thank you Richard, Simon and Julia for a walk around Simon's homestead, its very lovely, very refreshing and relaxing, albeit very hard work, but not hard work when you take so much pleasure in maintaining such a lovely lifestyle. Many blessings to all and much ❤ .
Beautiful beautiful beautiful! So soothing! 😊
Fabulous - 👌
After spending many years of school hols working on a dairy farm in Dorset, this is really appealing ... except I do remember those freezing early mornings during the winter months ... Brrrrr ... Would defo need to stock up on Long Johns!!!
Another excellent interview. Thank you Richard, Julia, Simon and birds 🪶
Wow, that is an amazing set up, well done!! Seriously impressed! 💪
Compulsory purchase is a factor, they are chipping away at the farm land local to me using CP to build motorways and housing. There’s not a jot the land owners can do unless we push for a complete system change.
We’ve got farmers threatened with compulsory purchase for Ginormous windmills and ginormous electric pylons… that are known to cause c ancer
People are misguided if they think they will be able to own land in the future.
@@jeanporter5092 Not misguided, but prepared to fight for what is ours 👊

Where’s the evidence I don’t see it. We’re getting to the end when digital currency will be implemented and at that point you can barter but they will control what you buy and sell.
@@toiletrollholder they are not going to stop you driving, mores the pity. It is too lucrative for the Exchequer.
What a wonderful interview, so uplifting. We need more of this, thank you, Richard!
I agree. I’ve lived in a tipi and it’s very comfortable.
i was most fascinated by his hand rings! 🥰🥰
Well done Julia with the camera, that amazing shot when you drew the camera up to the trees! ❤
Another great video, cracking setup
This, love the work
You do Richard and Simon the woodlander is a lovely bloke. It’s long overdue community and collectivism, we all have a power to do this, but these communities are vital. 💪🏻🇬🇧
Living the dream just bliss thank you for showing wonderful would love this 😊
I could watch and listen to you gentlemen all day! Love from Aus 💖🇦🇺
I’m looking in eastern Washington. Northeast part, Okanogan. It’s possible. Prices for land are dropping.
You are both INSPIRATIONAL!
💪🙏🙌💚
Love the birds. 🐓🐔🐤🦃🪿
All that wild life is beautiful but that vespa is nice
Freedom is essential ❤
I chucked a bunch of sprouting potatoes from the cupboard into the grass pile and they unexpectedly grew wonderful spuds
Absolutely beautiful, just perfect 💜 I would love to live like this
Thank you, Richard and Simon, and the beautiful Julia, thank you!
a great interview, you are all giving hope to many!
Trying to stay hopeful in Manitoba, Canada
More stuff like this please Richard, with connections and organisations.
✌♥️🇬🇧
Lovely setting and set up. It seems to be chickens mostly and a pack of huge dogs somewhere to keep order and unwelcome visitors out, no doubt
I wonder what he feeds the dogs?
trespassers I would say.
Watching this with the incredible natural surroundings, chilled me right out!
Gonna subscribe to the Woodlander now. xxx
great content, and I have to say enjoyable to watch thanks to the lovely Julia camera work.
Richard u look like u have been a city person i could be wrong
its good to see u asking questions about lifestyle changes
animals gardens water using technology
finding our path of rewarding journey
love your show hope to see more of this
thanks NZ
Thank you you very much for bringing - Heaven on earth to us - ...
Thank You For The Video 👍👍👍
Enjoyed that! 😊
Understandable and enjoyable and all what he said. Wonderful. Than you for sharing
I wish had done something like that years ago.
Beautiful interview, thank you kindred hearts.
💖🙏💫
I watch all of your videos and think you are a credit to the people! Your delivery and sense of humour is refreshing! I’ve really enjoyed watching this and long to do what this very resourceful man is doing. Another great video Richard 👌
Terrific show Richard
Great to have found this channel, I've been and still am, living in this way for 7 yes. There is a natural pace of life which you're showing .. exactly my experience
I love how this guy doesn't seem fully comfortable, but he's sharing his time and knowledge regardless, good man ♥️♥️
Wonderful life, obviously tough at times and tiring but as Simon mentioned every effort you invest is meaningful ❤
So envious, it will never happen for me as i have no means but i grew up in a similar setting and it was a wonderful life ❤ love and light xx
The good life by Helen and Scott Nering is the book written by the grandparents of the back to land movement in USA back in the 1960s. Awesome read.
Bless you sir honourable keep up the good work ❤
Respect love and gratitude 🙏
Such a great set up Simon has created and fantastic co-operative idea. Idyllic but graft to make it all the more appreciated. Really how times should be.
