  • Pro Cycling Manager 2023 is a sports management and simulation game that puts you in the saddle against the world's best riders. In this tutorial I cover how to get a +5 RDC through carefully planning objectives and race load.

    All of your videos are really helpful. Trying to track the changes from year to year. Seems like now the trick is to have 3-4 objective "windows" maybe stack a few races in a 1 week period in that window and give 8+ weeks to recover and rebuild form. My main question is for '23 how many total days raced would you suggest for a rider on a major pro team, like EF Education? 60? 80?

    Good tutorial, thank you!
    Could you maybe do a tutorial on training which explains, which style of training is effectiv for specific attributes? For example: Which attributes are affected by "puncheur"-Training? Which by "northern classic"-Training? I cant find any informations regarding this.

    I'd love to see a tutorial for some miscellaneous things that wouldn't need a full video themselves. Equipment, injuries, when a rider asks to join your team, team makeup for each specialization, how to find previous scouted talents after the year ends, etc.

    Thanks for the tutorial! Just one more question, how do you manage the calender and how many races do you let riders do before an objective/throughout the year?

      Prior to an objective, I try to keep it to a handful of race days or less. Overall load I don't worry about as much anymore. With the new system it's pretty hard to avoid fatigue kicking in at some point and - for the most part - it doesn't happen till the final couple months anyway by which time it isn't a big deal anymore since the sponsor period is complete.

    Hey can I ask you a question?
    I am having issues with some riders not resting properly while they don't have any objectives. Especially in getting them ready for Giro. For example if I have them early March for UAE and Tireno, so I rest them, and don't give them any objective before Giro, no races driven as well. But their fatigue grows, like they are racing not resting, and by the time Giro starts their fittnes is starting to drop. Can I prevent that somehow?
    Also, can I somhow have better timing on peaks for grandtours. All riders are reaching fittnes peak weaks before grand tour. And they are at best in first week. What if I want them to go with less fittnes to first week and fittnes to grow in following weeks. And I didn't sent any objective just before the grand tour. It's 2, monhts empty and then Tour and they are in top form on Dophine and 2nd week of tour they are declining.
    For me personaly I prefered setting fittnes manuelly like in older versions of PCM where you can set how high peak they are reaching, and you can really pin point the week you want it.. Makes no sens for general clasification riders to have high pick before tour and to decline in 2nd and 3rd week.
    Thanks for help :)

      I am right there with you, I miss the micro-managing of fitness levels. I have yet to find a suitable answer to this as I often suffer from the same issues you are having. One small tip that I've picked up on, when riders have an objective and fitness peak, if they race at all in the following couple of weeks after that objective their fatigue remains extremely high, seemingly even if it was just one day of racing. Make sure they truly have that time off. Otherwise, the new system just doesn't work very well and is an issue that will persist.
      In my game right now, I had four riders in the Giro w/objective, zero objectives between that and their next, La Vuelta, and each only raced a single five day stage race in between. Yet, two are heavily fatigued and the other two are lightly fatigued by the first day of La Vuelta. The open schedule at least didn't bump up their fitness peak too much, they'll hit it at the right time but are still carrying fatigue that shouldn't exist. Five days racing and 65 resting should have them 100% fresh.

      @@DecathlonGamer Yeah I picked up that, so now I am strict with rest period... but still it happens. Can't figure out why. It's like a bug... let's see if they solved it for pcm 2024...

    I've been using your tutorials the last couple weeks, as I just got the game (s/o Quickstep for the giveaway lol), and they've been great, your explanations are amazing, helped me out so much, but I've ran into a little problem, so in my career I am managing Quickstep, just now in season 2, season 1 I misused the objectives and put the Dauphine as an objective, so my guys had their fitness peak then but then for season 2 I made sure to only have the TdF, but yet still Remco had his fitness peak like 3 weeks early, so it ended right the day before the Tour started, any chance you would know why this happened? Could it have something to do with training camps? I sent my whole Tour squad on recon camps during the Giro, but only 2 out of the 8 had the early peaks, for the others it worked like normal, thanks for any help

      The system went through an overhaul for this edition. There's some really strange anomalies that have occurred. Usually a nearly clear schedule will do the most to hit peaks at the right time and without fatigue, but roughly a quarter of the riders will always turn out wrong.

      @@DecathlonGamer ah gotcha, makes it a bit realistic I guess with not being able to perfectly peak whenever you want, thanks!

    I noticed when you were in the planner at the end there was no burgundy bar(rest) after the green bar(objective races). Did you shut off the rest period it usually schedules after the objectives? Thanks for another great tutorial. I’ve been playing for years and always pick up something new in your tutorials.

    • @DecathlonGamer
      @DecathlonGamer  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that was just a glitch, the green bar hadn't been showing up either and I had to go back and reset one of the objectives just to get that to show up.

    For some odd reason I cant delete all goals.. Cant even do it manually... can never put them in the bin. Anyone know how thats possible?

    • @DecathlonGamer
      @DecathlonGamer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like it may be a bug, unless it's because you haven't selected the riders prior to attempting to delete their initial objectives.
