Gay Powerment w/Juan Castillo | The Queerness Diaries

Today I am joined by Juan Castillo for another incredibly moving story about embracing who we are, learning to live in the present, confronting anxiety and he´s amazing journey into becoming a life coach and podcaster in Barcelona.
Being born gay in a traditional family and environment, he talks the masks and defense mechanisms that came along with it, out of fear of rejection and in order to be accepted. He tells his courageous journey to self-acceptance and coming out of the closet, the liberation it brought him, and how it lead him to Barcelona with it´s chapter of healing and transcending wounds.
Childhood wounds can lead many of us to adopt anxiety and control as survival mechanisms. I know how exhausting it is to always be thinking of the ´what ifs´ ahead of time rather than being present, imagine all the possible scenarios, and be afraid when there is uncertainty and no control. Juan talks about the true reality is that the only sure thing in life is change, so the only control is in managing our emotions.
