Fear of loosing after getting your goal is REAL.
I just started playing DS! On my second ever DS game, I found myself in a DS game where my BM's name was Grubby and he was modded to be OP with a ranged attack. I see childish modding is still rampant.
The trick with BM is to mainly go illus and then just invest in strength and agility items immediately. Neglect the army, BM is your army now. Works alright.
Corruption orb bm shreds everything. Use it with WW. Of course need 6 slot. Balance with helm and boots depending on survival needs. Don't get evasion or kadgar. Only helm or boot and corruption. Try it.
You should not be getting Helm of Valor. Mixing Boots of Quel Thalas and Khadgars Gem of Health will give you just as much (well, less HP regen) but for less cost. I like to get 2 of each, an orb, and a flex item. WW level 1 is excellent, but should be micro'd. Keep it off until you hit the frontline, then micro it on. Your Blade will walk to the backline and take down the hero/range/casters. This is especially good with a fast damage item. After that you can get crit, then max Mirror Image as your BM transitions in to a frontliner.
Can someone point me to a link that explains how the gold-mining in this mode works? I don’t get why someone doesn’t just build 5 gold mines? Do they expire or is there some other limit to it? I am confused.
You get 100 + 10x number of mines + 10 if your team controls middle gold per income cycle. Mines cost a lot of gold and have a cooldown of 90 seconds - Why someone doesn’t just build 5 gold mines? Same reason why ppl don't usually triple expand - it takes a lot of resources out of you and payoff can be delayed to a point where you just lose before it happens. Triple mining only gets equal at 25 minutes, for example. Oh, and you lose middle bonus, which is basically a free mine.
Those area of effect spells should be nerfed, since you cannot micro out of them. Blizzard/flamestrike is super cheap and devastating. Not sure if it is at least scaled for the lower unit HP. Compare to what other heroes have... quill beast?
Hate to say it, the Spartan King in 300, or Achilles in The Troy looked like they were very manly. However the actors themselves can be quite the opposite.
I have 100% win rate with BM - 1/1. And he was actually rather impactful. But I had Cloak of Flames on him instead all these masks. And got a Talisman of Evasion later on for survivability.
@@Khantia I meant bad in a comparitive sense. For some students, 45% marks is good enough. For some even 85% is not good enough. If you are willing to settle for less, who am I to stop you? 😊
Is drafting the Kodo ever worth it when you can just buy they 10% aura for 80 gold more? Assuming you would want the thing you where offered opposite to the Kodo in the draft. edit: it's 100 gold more. The aura item is 520 and kodo + updgrade is 420.
100 gold more, plus you lose out on a body that's like a rifleman but with ~520 ehp and the option of devour realistically, the only time drums are better than kodo is when you don't actually care that much about drums aura, and would rather just leave it as a late-game luxury pickup. so, you shouldn't give it much weight when it comes to deciding between kodo and the alternative, as there's a realistic chance you'll never find a good opportunity to buy drums unless a game drags on ( esp. since an ally could end up picking kodos anyway )
Kodo gives 10% at base and 10% more (total 20%) after upgrading. So kodo is quite a bit stronger than the aura item, is cheaper, and provides a body for small damage and tanking as well.
most games have heroes with high spell dmg with late game destro, chims, wyrms as main dps. their buffs are also easy to dispel and you dont want to have your buffers die too quickly serving as the tanks
@@-grumpygold1155 spell damage isnt magic damage, its equal vs heavy armour as it is vs any other armour type while destros chims wyrms etc are all significnatly more expensive then a bear for the price of 1 wyrm you can get a bear and 4 hypos, which will shred the wyrm while the bear is killing stuff on the ground as for buffs, if you have 10 bears they can dispell everything unless they go absolute mass dispell, at which point they dont have a strong damage dealing army, and your bears will demolish them WITHOUT buffs imo bears are absolutly overtuned at the moment, bear based armies basically always win
priests heal a unit for 25 hp every 1.1s for ~23 hp per sec, regardless of armor or armor type. headhunters deal an average of 25 damage every 1.5s for ~17 damage per sec, reduced by armor and modified by armor type. this means that as armor is researched, the disparity is further increased as headhunters' effective damage goes down while priests' effective healing goes _up,_ heightened even further as priests have inner fire to give their army even more armor. the 2 armor from each armor upgrade, for example, increases the effective healing per cast by 3 'course, getting headhunters berserk _does_ even things out. i'm not sure about direct strike's numbers on berserk, but assuming the standard 50% attack speed bonus, that would put ds berserkers at 1 attack per second exactly and make their dps equal to their attack damage. of course, this cuts their survivability significantly and makes them even more vulnerable to focus fire or splash, but it's still a significant dps increase nonetheless. one that does not quite catch them up to a priest's heal per sec when armor's involved unless attacking a unit weak to pierce, but it _does_ close the gap significantly but what's really important here is that this wasn't a comparison between priests and headhunters to begin with, but a comparison between vanilla priests and ds priests. which also goes for vanilla hh and ds hh; they're attacking units with less health, so each attack does a greater % of the target's total hp. in fact, the %hp per second is even greater than the difference in hp pools alone, because ds hh has _significantly_ lower attack time than vanilla hh, improving its dps drastically. which is to say: priests op, _and_ headhunters op. fortunately, they're in completely different buckets, so you never have to choose between one or the other
@@hi-i-am-atanThank you for the detailed reply. There are a lot of details in your comment that I'd like to stay away from, to focus on the more general concept, which is that if you cut all units health in half and ignore effects that Grubby didn't mention, that all units benefit/suffer equally I think the main effect this would have, if all units had their health exactly cut in half (no additional balancing through health), is that ranged units would be relatively better melee units, because melee units would spend relatively longer (compared to the duration of combat), trying to close the distance. Likewise ranged spells like fire breath or Starfall are then relatively better. But Grubby didn't say anything like that. He just suggested that if units have less health, healing heals more percent.. and therefore priests are a good unit in this mode. Why not buy amulet of evasion on blade?
Wouldn't it be better optimization to buy the +10 Agi item with a +225 HP item instead of the +5 Str +5 Agi twice?
Generally, yes. Technically the +10 str gives some regen, but probably not worth 75 more health on blade + illu

Nope, only Vamp aura
