“Perfect”, a romantic ballad by Ed Sheeran, is a heartfelt
tribute to his now-wife, Cherry Seaborn. The couple’s love
story began during their school days, and they reconnected
when Cherry was working in New York. Since July 2015, they’ve
been inseparable, and in January 2018, they joyfully announced
their engagement.
The inspiration for the song struck Ed while visiting singer
James Blunt’s house in Ibiza. There, in the early hours of the
morning, Ed and James listened to rapper Future’s music.
The memory of dancing barefoot on the grass to their favorite
song-Future’s “March Madness”-stayed with Ed. He promptly
booked a studio, fleshed out the lyrics, and the magic of “Perfect”
was born. Ed knew it was something truly special. 🎶❤️
