I bought a Hover by mistake 4 months ago and all my gold was gone, but I don't regret it because I upgraded it to mk2 level 4 and I'm getting very good results :)
Those last minute comeback wins are the most satisfying wins of them all. I used to run all of these bots at one time or another with the exception of the Kumiho. I have a couple of them but I've always found it to be a little too weak for my liking. I used to really enjoy using the Inquisitor. I used to run Tarans/Ember on mine. It's cool to see these bots back in action now and again. I saw a video the other day of a player running the Rhino but it was equipped with Dampers, Tamer and Trickster with Kestrel drone and it shocked me at how well it did with the new weapons!! It was fun to watch. Players would charge at him thinking it would be an easy kill only to get smoked!! Lol.

I wouldn't say there was more diversity - it just seems that way. For my Dream Hangars when I pick which one to feature I actually have in the instructions that I want hangars with 5 different robots preferably. During the Dash Bot era it was definitely the most pay2win I think the game ever was too. I remember on average it cost you around $300 per dash bot because of how the Black Market worked (which is basically like how we have the Data Pad Delivery now but it was far worse). We had someone in our clan spend over $2000 to get his Dash Bots - this was just to get it, I'm not sure how much he spent to max it out on top of that.
This is actually more of a myth and more something that players would "want to have". For most I don't think they will really benefit from pushing things to MK3. MK3 honestly is more something you need when you play in high Champion League against other squads. Players get too obsessed over levels or even what robots they have - they should really be focusing on the basics first. My Baby Account is a perfect example. It only has MK1 level 6 robots and MK1 level 8-9 weapons and is currently in Master League. I had a 74% win rate at one point and that's me going up against MK2 and MK3 players. This isn't by luck either - it's because my opponents while they have high level equipment don't really have a clue about beacons and their inexperience shows. Think of it this way. You could be a basketball player and demand that you get the best equipment and gear - best basketball shoes, best shirt/shorts for performance, best energy drink etc. While these things are nice unless you actually know how to shoot a basketball it's not going to make much difference. The reason why the pros are so good is because they practice for hours - they know their craft and they know it VERY well. War Robots is no different.

Hover was my first decent beacon bot. I freaking loved it. I wish they would use the hovering system in a new bot. It's so much fun!

This isn't by luck either - it's because my opponents while they have high level equipment don't really have a clue about beacons and their inexperience shows.
Think of it this way. You could be a basketball player and demand that you get the best equipment and gear - best basketball shoes, best shirt/shorts for performance, best energy drink etc. While these things are nice unless you actually know how to shoot a basketball it's not going to make much difference. The reason why the pros are so good is because they practice for hours - they know their craft and they know it VERY well. War Robots is no different.
