If a tidewall ever finds its way into an actual competitive GT/Supermajor winning list, GW will curb stomp that turd down the shower drain so it never sees the light of day again.
Can you put a drone port on both ends of the tidewall? Or gunrig on one end instead? I had this vision of railsides, being infantry, at either end of a line of bleachers on the wall advancing up the field. But then I woke up.
Hey man, I think missile pod crisis suits with an enforcer commander is going to be our best unit in montka. They were crazy good for me yesterday at my rtt for so many reasons.
Love the shorter video!! Was initially confused on the Thumbnail as it didn’t immediately say to me that it was “warhammer” related Recommend thumbnail to have your face pointing at a speedy crisis suit. Most popular TH-camrs these days have their face on the thumbnail. Always good knowledge man! Keep it going
I think it is still a damage buff overall. All your units can now advance and shoot. That means Observers, Kroot units and several units that could not(or didnt want to) take a weapon with the Assault keyword are now able to advance and shoot. Lethal on everything is nice, but it is an effect that still only happens on 6s. And if you do not get to fire the weapons, it does not matter much. You still get Lethal on your big damage units(because you will make an effort to guide them). And you will be able to get more units into good positions and shoot. Seems like a big win for me.
At first I thought Mont'ka got nerfed, but after considering Assault on everything like you, I did end up on it being a weird form of buff, especially being very capable of doing secondaries the first few turns. I will likely "miss" Lethals on overwatch though. About the rules: Mont'Ka Errata states that all the RANGED WEAPONS have assault, so you need any amount of ranged weapons. Edit: This is wrong - Breachers inside a Shieldwall outside Mont'Ka does confer assault to the shieldwall in the nature of the weapon that's conferred having assault written on it.
About firing deck giving assault, I was wrong actually, it only activates when selected to shoot, so due to the Tidewall not being eligible to shoot, you can't actually gain the assault weapons, my bad... It weirdly works on drone ports since they have any amount of assault weapons. I also believe Mont'ka still doesn't work for Tidewalls then, since there's no weapons to give Assault before being selected to shoot... Unless you run... THE GUNRIG. BAM BAM BAAAAM
The montka errata says models from your army have the assault ability, it doesn't say ranged weapons they're equipped with have assault. If the model has it it follows the same rule in the rules commentary for "models not equipped with ranged weapons" still being eligible to shoot
