Good stuff man, been watching these as I’m starting as a Crown tech in the next month. My only recommendation is to wear just anything to cover your nose and mouth when dealing with brake dust. I’ve seen what that stuff looks like under a microscope, and I don’t mess with it. I use a 3M respirator rated for Asbestos handlers.
@@joepacheco4038it's actually faster to replace entire assemblies including backing plant and park brake cables, plus it's a complete brake job, versus going back to replace park cable, labor isn't cheap, around $175.hr, dealer rate
Those axles have two threaded holes that you can run the same bolts into to pull the axle right out. Also, when the brakes can be "pumped up" that usually indicates air in the system and/or the shoes need adjusting out.
Very good point. I use that as well with other components, but never on axles. I’ll give that a try next time. Do you use the loctite brand or a different brand?
@@joepacheco4038 potentially, yes. Once you pump it up, does it hold the whole time? Or does it go back down to the floor? In that case, the master cylinder or wheel cylinders are bad. Wheel cylinders could be leaking internally.

whoa that's a fancy dark titanium impact you got there. New truck, new impact? Elmer over here making moves eh?
Real G’s move in silence like lasagna 😂 🤫 thanks man.
Full watch Party this morning at the Office! Nicely done
What an honor! Thank you Josh!
24:13 OH DAMN YOURE THE MAN ELMER!! We gotta send you our new hat crew pack!!
Instead of beating on the axle hub, Yale/Hyster has spots were you can run the bolts into to pull the axle hubs out.
You’re 100% right. I noticed that as I finished the second side. Good catch.
Faster with BFH. Jack bolts last resort @@theforkliftguy
awesome work yet again and very detailed. 👍👍definitely need one of those impact drills though for real! waiting patiently for that truck tour lol 👍👍
LOL around here we call brake jobs just bj's so I couldn't stop laughing throughout the first minute and a bit of the video hahahahha
😂😂😂😂 I wish I would have known this before filming. I used some poor choice of words.
Keep doing these videos man, I’m still learning and your content is a gold mine of information. Practical application gold. Thank you!

When you find out that brakes can be purchased back plate full assembly then your day gets way better🎉
@@bravodad62 where do you buy that???
Maybe for a plant mechanic. Hard sell for field mechanic. 48 yrs as a field mec very few customers want to spend extra, they have a yearly budget.

Elmer is making moves 👀🔥🎥
Only recommendations are anaerobic flange sealant and using a reverse bleeder will make it easier to one man bleed the brakes
I work for mhs. Great company . .imma road tech
Nice! Yes, they are great people. Tanner is the man.

Yes sir! 👍🏼 you’re 100% correct. Thank you for catching that.
I find anaerobic sealant does a pretty good job for axles as well.
Very good point. I use that as well with other components, but never on axles. I’ll give that a try next time. Do you use the loctite brand or a different brand?
Me personally i use the Permatex brand works pretty well, i use it alot when im re sealing drive units, drive motors etc! Btw love the videos man
@@dannyperez9917 nice! i appreciate it Danny.
Official hyster is to use loctite 515 but
@@lewisdonald766 I have some 515. I use that next time for sure!
Instead of hammering the axle out there are two threaded holes offset to allow bolts to push the cover out. It's a lot easier.
@@nathanmack5514 you’re right 💯 i noticed that a little too late
If you can pump up the pedal and it holds , wouldn't that be a brake adjustment needed?

You’re correct. No worries, I’m actually really bad at remembering technical terms and I’m trying to get better at it as I’m filming lol.
