Thank you for your very useful video. Hyundai wanted to charge me $250 to change my cabin air filter. And thanks to you I did it for $14.99. I appreciate your help!
Ashley Crisci , That seems like an awful lot. I was just at my dealer for service and they wanted $35 to change the cabin air filter. Still too much in my opinion. I got a Bosch filter for $6.07 from Rock Auto.
Thanks Ozzstar. Great video. Repair process very well described and the replacement made to look clean and simple. The repair shop wanted $45 for this service and all it really takes with your mentoring is an $8 part and 5 minutes. I appreciate your help.
Thanks for this video! Just did a test run through the steps and it was super easy. Dealership would've charged me $60. Gonna pick up a new filter this weekend and get it done.
My dealer advised me that this was something I could easily do myself, and it might add a few extra degrees pf coolness to the AC. I have been reticent to start this, but after watching your video, and actually getting it done, (the hardest part was finding the filter at one of the Mart stores) my nephew was assisting and prompting me with his Iphone, Now, this 15 year old youth considers himself learned on the subject and task and he has decided that instead of mowing lawns for spending $, he will knock on the retired folks doors in our neighborhood and offer this service to them...(ha!) He especially scrutinizes those elderly that he sees wearing oxygen or using inhalers as his target audience and touts the "it's good for your health" approach!
Glenn Talbot that's what my channel is all about Glenn....glad the vid was helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take it easy - Ozz (Glen with one N) lol
Thanks so much! I recently took my 2022 Santa Fe for its first oil change ‘complementary’ 7,200 miles new. Service writer tells me there are mouse droppings in the cabin filter area, and it needs to be replaced… for $75. I said show me, after delaying 30 minutes and I found the Service writer asked if the mouse did damage, he said no. I told him, leave the filter, blow out any mouse poop and finish. I think he tried to SCAM me. Thanks to your video, I can check myself
I can't stand ripoff's! Glad the video was helpful. Keep in mind that even with synthetic oil that 5k mile intervals is the max mileage I would suggest. I usually will change the oil at 4500 miles and that stuff looks like tar. Enjoy your mouse turd free Santa Fe! haha
Hello. Wondering if you have a video for a 2013 hyundai sante fe on how to replace a windshield washer pump? Thank you for responding to my earlier comment. Eagerly waiting for your response.
Thanks for the video ,,,,,the last part of the video you said speaks about the differences between the original one and the dealership filter . I bought my air filter three weeks ago and still the air is sometimes smell bad is like on and off sometimes so i better check it with the dealership next time the only problem i threw away the original filter....
The original factory OEM filter has a gray charcoal style filter. This eliminates smells much better than just the standard white paper filter. Thanks for your comment IPB
hi ozzstar. thanks for your reply..i own a Santa fe 2013 and its a AWD... my km is reach 102 because i drive a lot, i dont understand why these things happen like this but its a new vehicle and i always take care of my car and im the first owner i will take to another shop service
I dont know what "km is reach 102" but you need to go to a competent dealership to diagnose the issue. I know some models also had clunking in the steering shaft. The vehicle in this vid has had some popping when turning left to right and right to left.....front differential. When the problem is fixed please let me know what is the cause of the issue and what parts are effected. Thanks
Thank you so much for posting this video. Great video and directions! Clear and straight to the point. I do have a question though; could a dirty air filter cause an AC to blow warm air? Thank you in advance.
hi there.... im from australia i really appreciate your video and it helps me to save money instead of taking it to a merchanic which cost me 300 for changing this thumbs up please do you have a video for emplacement an air filter
Thanks for the thumbs up. There is already a video online on changing the engine air filter. It is very easy and only take about 1 minute to do. Glad I helped you save money, cheers!
Thank you for posting an awesome DIY video. It looks easy enough for someone like me to try. One question for you is where did you purchase the genuine Hyundai air filter? Thanks!
I buy most parts these days online. Shop around to get the best deal. The most recent cabin filter i replaced i purchased from ebay, charcoal filter just like the oem, the price was right and it appears to be working perfectly. Take it easy - Ozz
Timely! They just tried to get me to pay 45 bucks for this. But if my other filter was only 17 bucks and 5 minutes I knew there was no way that filter cost that much.
"take your junk out" ... Fot me that took more than actually changing the filter :))) I love this car, nice and easy to maintain... until you have to change the disel filter 😉 Thanks for the video.
Yes and you are welcome. Here in the US it is called a Santa Fe (6-7 seats witha 3.3L V6), the smaller version 5 seat four cylinder is called a Santa Fe Sport.
you don't really even have to buy a new one just vacuum the old one out and really shake and pat out the dust trapped on it. And its not even a matter of mileage or time that determines when you need to change them, its a matter of how much you use your AC/Fan/Heater system, that filter cleans out the outside air. If you live in a hot place and run your AC everyday I would clean that out every 2-3 weeks.
Im not getting enough airflow through my vents i wonder if the filter is dirty but beyond that im wondering if theres any other mode of DIY filtration that i could use to greatly increase the airflow thru the vent while filtering it. dont need such an intense filter im thinking.
hi ozzstar... today i got a problem on my santafe 2013 while im driving i heard like a wobbling sound or like a pop sound under my car when i turn left at the round about from the back left wheel i call the road side assistance he came and couldn't find the problem i call the other mechanic and he came and said that is a sound of a wheel bearing it must be warn out or running out of oil which oiling the inside of the bearing,,,,,so pls do you have any video of how to fix or replace a wheel bearing?
The wheel bearing does not contain oil, it is contains grease. Most likely the issue is a defective CV joint with the axle shaft or an issue with the front differential. Go to another service shop that is competent. Do you own a Sante Fe or Santa Fe Sport? Is it AWD and what model year is it? Sports had a recall on certain produced halfshafts which could fail.
Here is a link to the Hyundai Santa Fe cabin filter amzn.to/2GKcx8Q. Thanks for checking out the Ozzstar channel. -Glen

Hi ozzstar again sory but i want to ask a question is 'defective CV joint with the axle shaft' a big service or does it cost a lot?
Aftermarket axles are much less expensive than factory OEM. Hyundai in the USA warranties the powertrain for 10 years or 100k miles.
Thank you nice work and explanation.

Restricted air flow, clogged cabin filter and possibly a mouse nest and or blower motor not working correctly and won't go on high speed.
