In this episode I travel to the East coast of England to Lincolnshire, to a very special place called 'Donna Nook'.
Donna Nook is actually an RAF shooting range but from October through to the following year the RAF give way to a Wildlife Extravaganza!
Atlantic Grey Seals come here in there thousands to give birth to their young and also to mate.
I stayed at a 'The Old Manor' guest house,
www.theoldmanorhouse.net
I can thoroughly recommend this guest house, small, intimate and an incredible breakfast well worth the money.
So come along for the journey and see what I see...........

Fabulous video Dan, love this place. My second visit last Friday, first in 2016. Got there early 9am, well early for me, the count that day, which the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust provide weekly on their web site, was 1607 pups, 1568 cows and 404 bulls. Light was very good but cold wind, nevertheless got some lovely photos. Found my 100-500 was more than adequate often having to rein it in. Your evening video of the birthing, and the stills, were so beautiful. Would recomend a visit to any nature lover ,even if they are not photographers; but get there early in the day . Numbers peak late November, seals, and people!
Cheers Rob, appreciate your comments and updates on the seals 🦭 sounds like you had a great time 👍🏻
Dang Man! That's cool!
Cheers Jon, missed them this year but will definitely be back next season 👍🏻
Great video Dan. Fantastic images and great information about the Seal Colony
Cheers Brian, appreciate it 👍🏻
Brilliant video and content Dan. I'm on the fence re: Z9 ... decisions, decisions !
Great video Dan. Love to see them, hopefully I'll get their over the xmas break.
Thanks very much. I love going too, we try to get over there at least once a year 👍🏻
Cute
Thanks 😊
Great shots from a great spot.
The closest I've been to pinnipeds is about 50 metres from Australian Sea Lions on Kangaroo Island. Terrific experience, but I couldn't hear them breathing! 🙂
Thanks Shane, Sea Lions at close quarters sounds exhilarating and something I would love to do 👍🏻
Amazing. What a great experience and some lovely shots.
Thanks Brian and thanks for your continued support 👍🏻
Cracking videos, as always, I was just wandering where you park. I’ve been looking at the map and the car park doesn’t look very big
Thanks Alun. Parking is not a problem at all, the car park on the map is used for disabled badge users only everyone is is guided onto a farmer’s field for £5 👍🏻
@@danwillis_photography Fantastic, thank you
Nice. What settings do you use for video?
I use the setup that Hudson Henry recommended on his TH-cam channel, definitely worth checking out how he sets up his Z9 👍🏻
Yahoo.htat is pro upload,👏
Thank you
