Mad respect for Korbel. He played brilliantly. Ma didn't hold anything back and almost got beat by the much older but very experienced Korbel
He losed the match with 1:4. What ru talking about?😂 It was not even close to it.

Korbel's attitude at the end was justified. Ma long made him wait before every serve. This irritated korbel because it destroyed his focus.

Petr Korbel started TT club in Ostrava - the name of the club is TTC Ostrava 2016, he returned to Ostrava because he was born in Ostrava and he is 50 years old now, we have the highest competition in Czech Extra league, in TTC Ostrava 2016 is Jakub Kleprlík, our Czech table tennis proffesional gentleman player 😉, Filip Delinčák (SVK), young talented player and Petr Korbel - 3 players

In the end his coach said :“Chinese always wait”--Oh come on, malong should keep ur focus for let you wining? If malong intentionally “wait” and slow down the temp of match he deserve a yellow card, but he didn’t. According to Chinese analysts from Chinese national team-which funded by government and Harding working staffs and players they had strategy on controlling time during the crucial point and it didn’t violates the rule. I respect korbel for his style for many years,but now I understand the reason why he didn’t had step in top players group because he didn’t had a great team or a professional coach which he should be. And also, if you cannot change you must live with it, complaining will not bring any good for you-it will only stop you from progressing.

Initially I was impressed by Korbel strategy even tho he had a weak receive which killed his game. He tried to overpower Ma long on the rallies and that's what made him lose. His placement game gave the inexperienced Ma long much more trouble than his power shots. He lost my respect at the end with his attitude, seriously. We need more people like Timo or Dima who actually gets along with the Chinese team and play at the Super League.
What did he do?
Yeah,more players like Boll and Ovtcharov,the ultimate one trick ponies.That way the Chinese will never lose.
Korbel actually beat China in the team event in the 1991 WTTC.It was the ultimate humiliation for the CNT,the coach and all players except Ma Wenge were dismissed.

A lot of people used to beat China back in the days, just saying... Korbel wasn't the only one. Everybody hates China I get it, but they are not going around showing off or hating on others. Timo Boll is a notoriously lazy player who lacks fighting spirit and always comes with passive aggressive excuses like being unlucky playing against the Chinese who are stronger than ever,having inferior rubbers and boosters etc.In his younger years he used to have a PR manager.He is not good example of an athlete except for making good money from sponsorships,attracting fans,networking with sports patrons etc.
Ovtcharov is a very obnoxious player,don't know why he is praised.Maybe because he never took a medal from a Chinese player in a serious competition and Ma Long didn't have to devise any gamesmanship tactic against him.
By the way,Korbel beat Liu Guozheng in 2003 WTTC(Boll was ranked no1 in the world at the time) ,the same player who beat Boll in 2005 WTTC.So despite being way past his prime he still bothered the Chinese and even the ''inexperienced'' Ma Long(LOL at 23 years old he was anything but inexperienced he had received almost 10 years of CNT top coaching).Korbel's 2005 WTTC match against Ma Lin is another blatant example of gamesmanship from Liu Guoliang.
Sorry,I have nothing against China I just despise everyone riding the CNT bandwagon without any perspective whatsoever on the situation.
Korbel went through tough times with the break up of Czechoslovakia.He ended up as a Bundesliga journeyman.Comparing his attitude to players like Boll, a guy whose whole career was pretty much shaped and financed by very powerful patrons doesn't make sense.
Timo Boll at the age of 14 had a whole team of players moving to his town to help him with the development of his game.Not many players had this level of support.He made millions in sponshorships from a really young age, he never experienced any uncertainty in his career.
Korbel was born 1971.
Ma Long does not know yet, what Korbel has achieved.
Youngsters allways think, old people are uncool.

on this match , I thought Ma Long was holding back his power and speed, since he did not take seriously with Korbel. just like he did with Waldner and Schlager.
He just gave away many good chances. i thought he was saving Korbel's face not to lose badly from him or he put respect on old man. Humble guy he ??? i don't know....
IMO ma long just struggled with the old fashioned styles that no pro uses today.
