Oh yeah, I do anywhere from 2 to 3 vids a week, so I am always on here. This weekend might be light as its my birthday lol but I always upload stuff :)
Wow! Very thorough and interesting. This is great! Thank you for doing this video. I am looking at buying this digital Geiger counter as I live 14 kilometres away from the Pickering Nuclear Power Plant near Toronto, Canada.
Thanks, yeah these are pretty decent units, I have tested it a few times with a friends check source, it was dead on. Trick is to keep it charged so I take it out every few weeks, run it for a few and then top off the charge. All in all I am please with it, thanks for watching!
was just going to do same as you charge while they last and keep few spare non rechargeable in reserve in case i was not able to regarge. but thanks for reply lets hope we never need them, apart from accidents that is....
Good review. Interesting product, worth checking out. Radiological emergencies are definitely something many folks are ill prepared form and this would address some concerns. Thanks for sharing.
Quick question about geiger reading. My geiger started at low 0.01 usv/h and went to to high 0.18 usv/hr. Should I consider 0.18 usv/hr. Should I consider 0.09 usv/hr
Thank you for the video. Which device is good for measure radiation hazards in contraction materials like countertops, ciramics, bricks...? Thanks in advance
Ha! I belonged to that same site years ago & bought the same black Russian meter. Last year when I had a iodine dye CT scan my russian meter would just scream when I was within 3 feet of it. I've always wanted a -717. interesting device may have to add it to the list of items for the nuke tote.
I'm looking to buy a small tool from Japan and I'm concerned about radiation. Will the GQ meter be good to guarantee there are no traces of radioactivity coming from the item?
Yes, that is why I picked it up, it will pick up normal background radiation and using the computer program with it, you can track that and see when its higher or lower than normal.
Do you have to set anything, for example, a minimum level for safety? We adventure ride and often explore old mines and other things we find and are always concerned about radiation and other problems.
nice video. after I bought the gmc 300e I found your show of it compared to others. my brother is all freaked out about Fukushima. he thinks all the cooling water is being dumped into the ocean and we're doomed. I wanted to show him that the news media has no clue what radiation is and that it has mostly decayed before getting here. He seems to think of it as a poison. One that doesn't decay and is just as deadly as when it left Fukushima. We fish a lot and there was a dead whale on the beach this last time. He's all about dead sea life now. Whales die. now that I know that this is a very sensitive instrument, I'll get a background reading. then I'll have him go up to the rotten whale and get the same reading. I'll have to get some sea salt for a true comparison. I would imagine.
Cool, glad you enjoyed the vid, It is a handy device, and pretty darn accurate as well. When I want background readings I will hook it up to my computer with the included software and let it run in my shop for a while, it records it all and I can review it later. Thanks for watching!
I didn't get it to pinpoint sources but to be able to know how much radiation might be in the environment after a disaster or nuclear attack. Its super fast, and can be attached to a computer for a bigger display and record keeping. Its certainly one of the better ones out there and at an affordable price too.
Iridium242 oh cool you should also keep an eye out for any Xrays. They sometimes leak out of nearby clinics and people experimenting with them at home on occasion.
Great video ! Have you been to the Trinity Site ? Also Nevada had some surface Atomic Tests so down wind you may have some readings... Have the GMC-300E Plus with the Li-Ion 3.7 V rechargeable battery (14500) and the Glass Tube and still going strong after two years. Have you opened the slots over the Glass Tube ? Also can get a reading from Sodium-Free Salt by No Salt (TM) ! tjl
Honestly I would not know. I didn't even know people hunted for uranium. I would assume it works being that many people use Uranium Ore as a check source.
well i am a rock collector but i cant buy a little sample of uranium because im in canada and i want to look for a small rock like i do use the gmc 300 plus but at the same time i am wanting to buy a new geiger counter but not expensive like $500 and that
What do I need for this Niburi issue. The Australian Government wants me to prove this conspiracy theory and I notice that these things are used. I have the money to buy the best one. What do I buy for this project?
Iridium242- I want an instrument that will detect alpha, beta, gamma radiation. I want to be able to detect how much radiation I'm getting from the router, computer screen, keyboard, tv, cell phones, & house cordless phones? Anyone please...I want to be able to show people what they're exposed to.
There are two types, the electromagnetic radiation that is inoffensive and the nuclear radiation that hurts your DNA The electromagnetic comes for example from your router
Great I was thinking about buying one of these and you provided a great scale tipper review! Thanks from a newly converted prepper in Costa Rica!
Thanks, I charged it up recently and tested it out, it still works great. Welcome to the channel!
@@Iridium242 Thanks man, I have a long way to become a proper prepper so I hope to pop in often as I binge on your video history!

@@Iridium242 Well happy bday then sir! Time off well deserved!

good video very clear and easy to understand, just bought one of these feel bit happier about it after watching your review ,, cheers.

Thanks. Just bought one.
Does gmc-300e plus still has any advantages over newer gmc-300s? worth modifying it with soviet SBM-20 or other tube?
So are these good for 60$ or should I get a 500plus for 168
Good job !
Quick question about geiger reading. My geiger started at low 0.01 usv/h and went to to high 0.18 usv/hr.
Should I consider 0.18 usv/hr.
Should I consider 0.09 usv/hr
Could u share some budget geiger counter which can measure alpha too ?
Does this click like other Geiger counters?
Thank you for the video. Which device is good for measure radiation hazards in contraction materials like countertops, ciramics, bricks...? Thanks in advance
do you know if you can use this for uranium hunting like for rocks that give of radiation
Yes it should work.
You wont be able to tell its uranium with it but you will see what is radioactive
14.55 μSv/h not great not terrible.
Pretty cool stuff

Cool.. a good bunch of us got that one! I think it was a guy named Pavel on Ebay who sold them. Thanks for watching
yep that's him Pavel! Glad I stumbled upon your channel tonight. Thank you.
I'm looking to buy a small tool from Japan and I'm concerned about radiation. Will the GQ meter be good to guarantee there are no traces of radioactivity coming from the item?
Yup. It's great.
What will display in this device if radiation is overloaded?
Now That is Interesting!
Do you know any good, cheap geiger counters that detect alpha radiation $150-$200?
It is this one 79$
Tatiana Rockford this one does not detect alphas
will it detect background radiation
Yes, that is why I picked it up, it will pick up normal background radiation and using the computer program with it, you can track that and see when its higher or lower than normal.

I'm doing some research on radioactivity of different products used in dentistry. Do u think this is a good device to measure it ?

So can we get an update on this 😂 what was your readings om the whale/sea
Can you replace the tube?
Lambda Videos yes, if you want a more sensitive one go for the sbm 20. there are videos on how to do it too
Should I get one of these? I saw it on amazon and have been wanting a detector for a while now. Is it fast enough to pinpoint a source?
I didn't get it to pinpoint sources but to be able to know how much radiation might be in the environment after a disaster or nuclear attack.
