  • As our last stop in our Belizean Adventure, we found what we think is the BEST place to stay in Caye Caulker. Iguana Reef Inn, is ideally located where all the important points in the island are just few minutes away by foot or by golf cart.
The Resort also has a pool, a private beach and its own wharf, a trio that is hard to find on the island.
Most importantly and I think the coolest feature too is the fact that the water surrounding its immediate shore are teeming with Marine Life. It has resident Nurse Sharks, Tarpon Fishes, Sea Horses and other Tropical fishes just lurking under the wharf.
Also, at exactly 5 pm everyday, lots of Sting Rays, the big ones visit its private shore and mingle with the spectators who would troop to the resort's beach front just to see them.
Such an epic experience that you will never find anywhere else in Belize or even in Central America!

I liked the tip jar. Nice little nod to fellow Canadian Carly Rae Jepsen and her song Call me maybe.

You should . I suggest to stay at this resort. They have more animals lurking in its backyard water. They’re all amazing

I’m glad you visited Caye Caulker. But I’m sorry to burst your bubble… that place is NOT a marine sanctuary… the only reason the stingrays go there is because they are fed. It is basically using the animals to make a show for human entertainment, which is disgusting, there is no need to feed these animals as they can do so on their own, they don’t go there to “ interact “ with anyone…

Yeah I am aware of it Amado. But thank you for pointing it out. I’m just amazed how protected the marine creatures are, in other countries those could easily land on restaurants and turn into different dishes. Are you from Caye Caulker? I love your island, I want to come back to do more activities. Do you have any suggestions?
