Age regression is a coping mechanism but also a trauma response; it can happen involuntarily. I and plenty of others who regress, especially when it's involuntarily, are often SO ashamed of it (shouldn't be, but it's hard to convince yourself of that) because of people like this.
DDLG, ABDL, and other similar things sexualize things age regressors do to seek COMFORT when we feel small and afraid, when we genuinely need someone or something to help us. It's fucking repulsive, and that's not even going into how fucked up it is to sexualize childhood.
Edit 2, but it’s above the first one lol: The original couple are confusing to me bc the terms they use definitely are sexual? Idk, it’s uncomfortable and inappropriate, and it does seem like some weird combination of regression and age play. My original comment was expressing distaste for the couple, not the commentary. I just wanna say that you are not disgusting for regressing. You’re not the same as people who fetishize childlike behavior. A lot of people don’t understand regression; other people’s misconceptions, whether from malice or a genuine misunderstanding, do not and should not define you.
You have to remember that the things these people are doing were never sexual, they’re just sexualizing them. You’re allowed to do what you need to to help yourself, even if that includes “cringe” things like using pacifiers, calling your caregiver (if you have one) “daddy/mommy”, whatever. Allow yourself the same considerations you’d give a normal child when you’re regressed, especially if you have to go through it alone.

Age regression is where someone acts as a child, either because they preferred their life as a kid or for trauma reasons. Age Regression is a documented and valid way to cope with trauma, but it is not what this video is showcasing, just fyi!

As someone who works with kids, she is acting way younger than a five year old. More like two or three. And I don't know why that makes it even worse somehow.

What you're describing as ABDL. Not all are DL though. Age regression can also be a coping skill that people do for trauma reasons.
Ddlg is where the CG is also part of it and looks after the little.
There is a side that turns it into a kink. But that's because it's the vulnerability of the little that becomes the kink.
The little is just a sub and dom scenario when it's turned sexual.. and the little is giving full control to the dom. Like a sub dom scenario in most bdsm.

Age regression/little space is a seriously misunderstood thing, for most age regression is used as a coping mechanism for severe stress and (most of the time) trauma. They aren't "little" 24/7 they have their adult lives and then in their spare time they will be little. Daddies are usually just caregivers who make sure the little is safe and okay whilst regressed as they literally go into the mindset of a child.
Lots of therapists actually support this coping mechanism :)

It’s also a way of separating a stressful reality with a calming one; some people with mental health issues or troubling lives find it helpful regressing as a way to just relax.

It's not healthy and it's not good. I understand that other survivors of childhood trauma sometimes like to do this and it feels good but it's not a good way to conquer your life. Very very few therapists whatever endorse this outside of the office.
