That connector is for the onboard intercom to the helmets and passenger and can be a CB if you want one. But it is helpful for talking with a passenger.
Beau i'm so sorry i didn't respond to your question. The truth is i don't remember what company I got it from. I remember that it was $550 without speakers. So it wasn't the cheapy amazon one but not the $1300 color matched one either. I was very happy with it. I also was careful with it and didn't slam the lid shut. It felt solid to me and performed flawlessly.
