I love the little video snippets of you doing things in between the layout setups. My favourite was the one where you made a disgusted face after taking a sip of water. 😆
Haha, glad you liked that one 😝 I felt silly doing it so I immediately afterwards looked at the camera and shook my head as if to say "okay yeah I'm not great at drinking water, but it's not THAT bad" 😂
HAha, that face when you drank the water. Some tips I learned. 1) temperature may make a difference. Some folks find cold water to be better, others room temp or hot. Find the temp that you prefer. 2) Making unsweetened tea counts - herbal teas especially - and is great for cozy days, or cold days 3) The vessel matters. Some folks find it easier to sip via straw, others from a glass, others from a bottle, etc. Find the right vessel for you 4) If the flavorlessness is part of the issue, consider infusing fruits (strawberries, lemon, cucumber, watermelon, etc.). Also, 0-cal electrolytes are awesome. LMNT and Ulta have great flavors, and are on the salt and sweet spectrum respectively Thanks for sharing, love your videos!
This! I much prefer cooler water and straws. Cups just feel bad. I've also seen people needed to recalibrate their taste for water after they had spent a long time drinking sugary or sweetened drinks, like sugar free soda or flavoured coffees. One tip I saw was to water down Coke to make the flavour less intense over time (like months)
I really like how you have a high bar, low bar goal for self care. You've mentioned it in other videos and it has been the most effective tip I've implemented for myself.
In one of my old bullet journals, I tracked exercise in form of a tetris game... I assigned a way of moving my body to each shape there is. To fill it in, I opted to not do the same exercise each day, because this would have looked boring to me... Just an idea, you could of course do the same with any act of self care, it doesn't need to be exercise, of course. I just loved the playful aspect of doing this... So I agree on the gamification aspect. 😊 Also on the mini-habit approach. This is what keeps me motivated.
The cut scenes in this video were the BEST! Our family has been plagued with sickness this year, when I come back to my habit tracker after a week of sickness I feel really demotivated at the big gap, so I’ve been adding some pretty paper/washi/sticker over that gap and then starting again afresh, and when you look back, it is extra pretty rather than just feeling like a big gaping failure
The only self-care layout that I have is a list of self-care ideas divided in two categories: mental and physical. In mental I have things like "reading a book, listening to calm music, playing Animal Crossing", and in physical I have things like "taking a walk, doig yoga, doing a pedicure". Your video gave me great ideas to integrate more layouts to remind me to take care of myself. Thanks 💜
Most welcome! 💜 I like the idea of having a "self-care menu" type thing at the front of the journal. I've got a small leisure based one in my current journal, but I think I might expand on it next year 🤔
Super cute curls! These are my top self care spreads too. I usually forget to give myself a reward for getting bingo. The act in itself is kinda it's own reward.
I love your videos and you’re so cute ! I have gotten so many ideas from you and I keep getting inspired from you to keep up with my bullet journal and the more I do it the more I enjoy it! Also before your videos I never understood how I could begin because I’m not very artsy! So thank you for making it seem so easy! ❤️ also I love your handwriting it’s so pretty.
I love love love love the self care bingo and have been using it every month this year. I've morphed it a bit to become more of a mix of different types of chores, fun activities, trackers and self care items in a 5 x 5 format. For example, I'll use one box for three key cleaning projects, another box for 5 new recipes, and another box for 4 soak and relax, etc. At the end of each month I'll count up how many BINGOs I earned.....I haven't set up a reward system because it's enough motivation just to see the board get filled. Thank you for introducing this concept to me.
I love how you appear more often in this video, you have such a great mimic 👌I would also watch your videos if they were not about planning although that’s my favourite topic. Just because I like your humour and character. I haven’t had a self care layout in my journal yet but I will think about which one I would like. Thank you for all the great advice 🌷
Not sure how I missed this video when it was released - very good tips in here! Thank you! (my main problem is remembering to go back to my "brain dump" which often feels like an "out of sight-out of mind" situation) My tip for drinking more water: sparkling water! It has that same fun "fizziness" of soda (Diet Dr. Pepper is my Diet Coke, if you know what I mean) - that's been really helpful in my quest to drink less Diet Dr. P.
I've been trying to get my workout routine back and I've been using a self-care bingo as a way to reward myself. I get to cross off and get a reward for completing certain activities. I started small - two workouts done and I marked off "color" so I got a little fun reward. If i get three weeks of doing workouts for 5 days that week, I get to treat myself to sushi. If I get 4 weeks, I get to buy a book (this also is keeping me from buying books this month!).
apparently I'm a wizard! lol that made me smile 🥰 I should probably try more bingo boards, they seem a lot more fun than simple tasklists but I rarely bother to set them up
For my brain downloads I like to write them anywhere on the page in any color I feel like, and then go back over it again and organize, properly color code, etc.
Drinking water doesn't actually mean water, specifically. It really means fluids. You can count everything you drink plus water heavy foods like fruit and celery. I drink lots of sparkling water plus herbal iced tea and water with lemon or lime powder.
Your water-drinking face had me howling with laughter! Is the tap water where you live super gross or something? I used to live in a place where there was sulfur in the water, and I thought I hated water. Then I moved and realized nope, I just hate sulfur!
The sips tracking is actually a good method. When only a sip is in the mouth it is more organic to mix in saliva before swallowing thus getting the start of digestion acid levels in appropriate balance within the stomach.
Hi! I love your video and the little snip its of you :) Made a note of the bingo as I really like the idea, but unsure how it works? Do you complete the three and then just do something nice for yourself on top? The only thing I can think of is shout BINGO :D Thank you!
I normally just use is as a nice visual arrangement of the things I want to do to take care of myself for the timeframe in question (usually a month for me) Some people set it up so that once they complete a row/column/diagonal/the full board, they get a reward for having done the thing. Mostly I don't use rewards myself because the things I'm populating the board with are rewards in themselves 😊 But if your self care tasks were things that are more "I don't wanna do it, but it's good for me" things, then a reward makes for a nice incentive 👌
What is the name of the small but loopy script font you use for headers? The semi-cursive font? I know in a video you mentioned there was a website we could type the words we want to type and see how the letters would connect - could I please have the name/link of that website?
The style I've used here is just my regular cursive, but you can find similar styles by searching "monoline cursive" online! 💜 Most font websites will let you type in words to trial them, but think one is kinda similar to my regular cursive: www.1001fonts.com/sacramento-font.html just a little more loopy on the Ts
I love all the journalling, Tracking, self - care, routines. It would be nice to see where, plan b/c is there. Life happens from illness, washing machine breaks, even a child, family member or friend needs you, that will completely blow out the water. 'Best laid plans of mice and men'. 🤔
I always find rewards hard to pick so I often don't include them myself, but I'm thinking I possibly should, especially for those less-fun-but-good-for-me items 😝
@@JashiiCorrin Yea I often have that problem as well. I want to reward myself but I don't know what to reward myself with. That sounds very confusing. Shouldn't I know what I want? 🤦🏽♀️ But that's the whole point of doing the challenge itself because I don't treat myself enough. Such a conundrum
I guess it depends on what you think of as a reward. I keep a list of things I want but don't need. Usually they are small things like an inexpensive but pretty pen or ink, new stickers that kind of thing. Occasionally I will get a favorite food that I don't eat often. For free stuff I might do something like start a new project I have everything for, listen to a podcast episode I'm really looking forward to or spend extra time with my pets.
I don't like the flavor of water, even with a filter, what I do is to add a little bit of a refresher (usually the one flavored with green tea and green apple) in 3:1 ratio ( 3 parts water and 1 part of refresher)
Good system 👌 I have some flavoured water drops that aren't too bad. Only issue I've found with them is that they make me feel more thirsty, so I drink more of them, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but then I don't get the "I actually feel hydrated" feeling 😂
@@JashiiCorrin I know I'm dehydrated when I start looking for cookies, it's like the signals get crossed. I also add ice cubes for an extra feeling of hydration.
I think I need to set the low-bar for gym time at just “GO to the gym”, meaning physically schlep myself TO the building regardless of whether I then exercise or not - I know I won’t leave without at least getting on the treadmill or bike for five minutes, because otherwise I’ve “wasted” the time and effort to get there in the first place. But “go to the gym and run five minutes” just….feels like Too Much. Demand Avoidance is just wild to have to trick yourself out of lol. Ugh 🤦🏻♀️.
Love your small "intermissions", very cute and fun 🥰🥹 Oooh I'm going to try out something like the midmonth chechk in I think! That might be helpful for me! I know about the other types of layouts, but didn't think of them as self-care! Very nice perspective!
Thanks, glad you liked them! 💜 I think that it was a good opportunity to highlight that seeming less "glamorous" layouts can totally be for self-care 👌

perfect timing! was just thinking of next year’s spreads :) i also use the term mind spill instead of brain dump!
Always good to have alternatives 😄 I find that a name change up can even just make a layout that was feeling a little stale fresh again 👌

Hi. Your channel is most helpful. Where do I find the free Trigger list? I don’t see it.
It's the link in the description titled "free resource library". All of the free printables are in there.
