@@MisAnnThorpe Hi Ann I'm 58 years old and discovered, the cabs on Jon Peel around 1979, they blew me away while I was tucked in bed lol, yes I know it's Kirk on his own but this is really good and I feel that he should be able to carry on under the name of Voltaire, I don't think Steve has a problem, maybe I'm wrong
Another good day ! Sounds good coming out of this tin can ! Can't wait to hear Vinyl and CD ! Watch your bass bins, I'm telling ya ! Mental frequencies ! Not for the faint of heart, first time drug users !
I mean, it's HALF of the Cabs... arguably the more instrumental of the two. Also, I own a lot of the RHK/CV/Sandoz/Electronic Eye discography, so yeah, come to papa. :)

They all were. Sure, bands like CV couldn't last forever in their original line-up or in much-beloved duo form, but all three sure made CV the sum of its parts...
@@TAXImutant I know mate, I dig Wrangler, I'm just putting it out there, I can't be the only one who would love him and RHK to get together for at least one or two tracks.
I thought my music was tedious. But then I heard Cabaret Voltaire. A couple of tedious repetitive loops with a deep slowed down booming vocal track. The distorted guitar loop was almost getting interesting. This is 2020 isn't it?
dont spoil your party, but maybe it has something to do with HOW you connect the dots, that cabaret voltaire sounds interesting while your stuff is tedious and you didnt get the paper with the recall ;D
Just heard this again. Just noticed there is a filter sweep (yeowwww) which is quite strong. My initial impression still stands. A cheap, tedious, drum machine beat (but hey these drum machines have rocketed in value). So, power is big, echo is big, black is big. I am not sure where the middle 8 was. "Power"! The guitar was almost like a harmonica.
I agree with Bo. I am a big fan of CV, and no offense to Mr. Kirk handling the CV duties these days, but something about it is just not it. Repetitive beats and sounds over and over, sadly disclose this new "CV" as a one trick pony. People are acting too defensive because it says "Cabaret Voltaire". But this is not even a pale shadow of what CV were, and what their legacy continues to mean to many. People seem like desperate clinging on to a "dream come true" about Cabaret Voltaire's return but had this been released by some "no name artist" out there, I truly doubt one would even care, because this indeed sounds like tons of others nowadays looking up to the (living) legend, learning from it, discovering it... The same can be said for John Foxx's most recent LP "Howl". Equally blindly praised to bits, but under the surface, something about it is not altogether that convincing to say, I'd play it on repeat. As for "Shadow Of Fear", CV once said "Seconds Too Late", now it's sadly ages too late. Kirk established himself as a solo artist, and maybe had this been considered his new solo album, the CV DNA echoing in it would bring a bit more honesty to it. This way, it is just not that convincing. Comparing this to what Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson have been doing for years, both leaving CV beast to rest, Kirk's own (and somewhat selfish) revision of CV seems like lazy, if not entirely mediocre. Sorry.
@@spacefertilizer They played Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1983, and Stephen seemed to have the upper hand on everything. You can watch and the doc they made for those days, in TH-cam, somewhere but not in the I topic.
I remember reading, not that many years ago (5-10?), where RHK said that the Cabs should only continue with fresh meat on board.. . maybe even without him... sort of carrying the torch under that name without the originals. I thought that was a nice idea... odd he didn't do it. BUT, I'm diehard RHK fan and this all sounds great so far!! so, whatever!
Why do you people say this? I don't know factually what Stephen's involvement in the previous three Cab albums was, but they're all virtually indistinguishable from Kirk's solo records at the time and his vocals are nowhere to be found in the mix. What reason is there to believe that Stephen has a problem with Kirk doing this? Industrial fans are truly insufferable with their bullshit purism.
RIP Richard H Kirk.
The influence the Cabs and Kirks solo work etc... had on me from my early teens , immeasurable.
Love cabaret voltaire great band 👍🎶
MASTERPIECE.. OH YEAH 2022
Very happy to see this band back.
Brilliant Richard h Kirk
Still making music that’s important, fantastic track
Grande banda dos anos 80 música de vanguarda não essa treta de música alternativa. 🤣😅🖤🤞🏿

Caberet Voltaire, they are back and awsome as usual
