Description by Lin: Raichoe was the last song written by the Nagoya mixture band eq. (where Aiemu was a vocalist), when they were facing their disbandment back in 2003. This explains certain motifs, especially the line, "I’ll show you, for those guys who devoted their lives to what they loved, this is how it ends." The relationship between UVERworld and eq. can be said to be a friendly rivalry, stretching back to their indie days in the early 2000s. The two bands first met in Shiga’s B-FLAT livehouse. They became rivals on stage, but had celebratory meals together after shows. In the heyday of the melodic-hardcore era, they formed a Shiga-Nagoya alliance to hold an event called the “Neo-dora Event”. After eq. disbanded, UVERworld did not forget them. The name “eq.” is mentioned in the lyrics of Mixed-Up, and in 2015, Aiemu also appeared in UVERworld’s music video of “Boku no kotoba de wa nai, Kore wa bokutachi no kotoba”. Around the year 2020, TAKUYA∞ spoke to Aiemu about collaborating on eq.’s songs. Aiemu agreed, and worked with UVERworld during one of their regular music-writing camps. Together, they made the 2021 versions of Raichoe and SOUL, as released by UVERworld. In 2021, after the impact of the COVID pandemic, eq. returned to the music scene as Tokugawa eq. (徳川eq.), with a mix of former and new members. Their own revised versions of Raichoe and SOUL were also released on their second mini-album, “Mogura To Concrete” (Mole and Concrete).
