I'm not a Christian and I live in a country where Christianity is a minority religion. I absolutely love Christmas carols. They're always so hopeful and fill me with happiness.

I had tje privilege to be in this Choir. Christmas is ( or can be if you let it ) be a truly wonderful time, when people go that extra mile for friends , family, and even strangers. And thats what we Celebrated at this event. God going the extra mile. Keep on enjoying carols. And God bless.......

"Shchedryk" (from Ukrainian: Щедрий вечiр, "Bountiful Evening") is a Ukrainian shchedrivka, or New Year's carol, known in English as "The Little Swallow". It was arranged by composer and teacher Mykola Leontovych in 1916, and tells a story of a swallow flying into a household to sing of wealth that will come with the following spring. "Shchedryk" was originally sung on the night of January 13, New Year's Eve in the Julian Calendar (December 31 Old Style), which is Shchedry Vechir. Early performances of the piece were made by students at Kyiv University.[1]
"Shchedryk" was later adapted as an English Christmas carol, "Carol of the Bells", by Peter J. Wilhousky following a performance of the original song by Alexander Koshetz's Ukrainian National Chorus at Carnegie Hall on October 5, 1921. Wilhousky copyrighted and published his new lyrics (which were not based on the Ukrainian lyrics) in 1936, and the song became popular in the United States, where it became strongly associated with Christmas.

That’s a large kitchen she is in. Conductors are not needed, it’s just all a show. And before anyone says that I do know what I am talking about, I’m a musician.
Joseph Mauricio Flores with that many people and that many interpretations of the music with rits and accels you can’t do without a conductor. They’re also really important for the rehearsal process
@@fowlbird1000 I sang in a choir for a long time, and a conductor is not necessary, we never had one and we done it, each one knows exactly what to do
@@luizasantos7877 but first, someone has to teach you that, isn't it? And there are also pieces with difficult places, where conductor is very important, because it is hard not to get lost. Also the changes of tempo etc. All and all - as I sing in different choirs, acapella and with orchestra, for nearly hole life - I disasgree that conductors are not necessary. However this one conduct quite strange as for me :)

mountainmanjohns - It was a compliment because the performance was clearly excellent. As a TSO fan for the last 15 years, I was merely wanting to give some credit where it is due. That doesn't mean you guys weren't amazing. As I was replying to another comment, I was just saying that the spirituality of it is not something that can be judged easily from a You Tube video. Well done on producing an event for the city of LONDON.

Maria Morel porque el modo de hacer la introducción con la batería y la guitarra eléctrica la hace pesada al oído, Y luego pasar al piano y al Coro vocal se considera musicalmente como un choque, si sucediera al contrario se consideraría igual... es un cambio donde la música, su intención y su forma cambian drástica y dramáticamente, de un golpe... lo cual es considerado dañino a la mente del oyente...
Ese choque puede llevar a la persona de la euforia a la solemnidad de un modo muy abrupto afectando en cierto modo su mente y emociones. Impulsandolo(a) a tomar decisiones o determinaciones a raíz de cómo lo hace sentir la música que acaba de escuchar... lo cual hace manipulable a la persona y su voluntad...
Es peligroso musicalmente por el drástico cambio de interpretación; emociónalmente por el choque tan abrupto que presenta ya que la música siempre hará que uno reaccione física e internamente ya que somos seres musicales; mentalmente porque pasa de comunicar un mensaje a otro de un modo muy brusco agrediendo la forma en que la mente recibe lo transmitido por la música(la música siempre lleva y transmite un mensaje en sí misma);
y espiritualmente no me parece precisamente muy "cristiana" la introducción, una persona de mundo la asociaria fácilmente con algún grupo metal o hard rock o algo así... Y no me parece precisamente de buen testimonio, no me parece algo para "mostrar" a los que no conocen de Dios y vienen del pesado mundo lleno de desorden y demás... Yo no le mostraría esto a mis amigos inconversos porque no sabría explicarles que pasó ahí ó cómo una canción con esa intro habla de paz y salvación a la humanidad presentandose como una típica canción sin ningún atractivo diferente de lo que ya hay en el mundo... No es acorde a la Paz y el orden del mensaje que predico y en el que creo.
Espero haber sido claro y espero no haber ofendido a nadie. Me disculpo de antemano por si las dudas.
Pocos saben interpretar está canción dándole la gracia y el estilo con el que fue originalmente realizada...

Hola, osea que tu piensas que la musica trae mensages subliminales?, pues yo casualmente estaba buscando musica navideñas, y sin querer llegue a esta cancion, pero para nada se le nota que sea una cancion religiosa, y ya que tocaste el tema de la musica como afecta la mente, que tipi de musica tu recomendarias para el estres, y la depression?
Maria Morel jejejjejej no pues no me refería a mensajes subliminales. me refería a que una canción tranquila va a comunicar tranquilidad, una alegre comunicara alegría, una metálica traerá recuerdos a la mente haciendo sentir nostalgia... a eso me refería con el mensaje de la música
Respecto a lo otro... Pues sería util escuchar música que te alegre para casi de estrés y depresión, así hago yo cuando vengo de un día largo. Lo que me relaja es escuchar las canciones que más me gustan de modo que deje de pensar en aquello que me estresa o deprime. Aunque ya no sufro de depresión.
El detalle de eso es que el efecto durará Lo que dure la canción, entonces una solución momentánea... la solución definitiva para ello es Dios y Su Palabra. nada mas trae paz y tranquilidad al alma cansada y con problemas. Esa solución si Dura para toda la vida.
A Veces el estrés también se soluciona tomando buenas decisiones que traen paz y mejoran las cosas. aunque al final siempre será uno mismo quien se indispone por las circunstancias o se deja afectar por ellas... así como la amargura viene del corazón de uno mismo, del mismo modo uno es quien escoje estresarse...

The use of fire, dark red lights, black attire.
Choirs usually wear black as it was said, so as not to bring attention to themselves.
To me with what this song talks about, I'm sure it felt like a hellish time for Mary and Joseph, with having to flee.
Jesus never came into the world in a pleasant environment.
Red resembles blood, and there is baptism by fire. Fire is a source of light as well.
I mean some churches light candles so are we gonna say this is cult like?
I said on another string too, that I believe churches should encorporate elements of performance for certain things.
There can be worship in performance, because worship is in the heart, as long as it's going to His glory. As long as you are not bringing the attention to yourself.
People who make comments about bringing worldly elements and secular songs that don't use the word God in them into church, I don't get. We can't put God in a box. A present is meant to be opened and shared.

JUST because someone played a Ukrainian Christmas carol from 1914 with a distorted guitar and metal style drums doesn't give immediate rights to TSO. Their version is good, but is still a cover of the aforementioned song above.

Every one of us are from church. nobody is there for money, all the singers, actors, dancers and stage hands, all are there to put on an event to invite London to. to tell the Nativity story and present the Gospel. it's us as Church, just making an event possible to worship Jesus, and tell others. and we love to .

Choir felt a little out of it. Pronunciation was weird and they we singing with a very wide mouth. The orchestra sounded great though!

You are right. I was in the chior. This isnt our best shot! But understand that we are just church goers not all musicians. We all do this as part of this massive celebration. This song is particularly hard as we cant hear the music well, and we cant hear each other. We just concentrate on Emma the conductor. Since this we have definitely improved!! But its not about us. Its just part of a story that points to Jesus. ..... look for the 2018 or 19 one. Its in perfect time! ... God bless. J

Natashia Chandra If colours of a room and what people wear is what makes you think defines God's character then that is unfortunate. Remembering His death on the cross is just as important as remembering His resurrection. Jesus was put into a manger. A manger that would usually be used a place to put the firstborn lamb to be sacrified in jewish tradition. Anyways, i personally think judging how a song is performed on a carol night is exactly why there is division in so many churches. If you took away the instruments, it would just sound like what you hear in choral hymns that were sung back in the previous few centuries. I don't think they were demonic. God tells us not to worry about the clothes we wear. Black is one of the traditional colour to wear for choirs.

Beautiful music, voices and the conductor 👍.My view I would love to see with more bright lightings.So dark and it's so black... can't express more but I love bright light when sung bright songs. Not only in this video, but mostly gospel worship or concerts has started to used more of other secular concert lightings like. Clear and bright is beautiful. Understood as it stands on its own Dorothy. ( im in this choir let me put in context) this song is within a story where acting, video and dance are all used. Each is chosen and presented in a way that hightens its effect. This song is when Herod is chasing or searching for the boy. Hence the red and flames at the start. So in this instance, the story is at a sinister moment too. I hope this helps. As for today's methods. I think that is very much a personal choice thing too. But hey, lets just say to GOD be the Glory! ... love
