Not a Vietnam Vet...
But I am a Vet, and this was..IS one seriously wonky Vietnam era flick.
Multiple scenes were flip flopped.
You would Never have to tell the gunner to start firing once they started. Or Need to tell the squad to get out. Dude steps on a mine, and Both feet are attached and only a broken leg...NOBODY stopped to address his wound...that would Never happen.

Five minutes 24 seconds in and already think it's implausible.

I am a retired US Army Captain and damn sure never wore a uniform like that, plus what's with the two Captain's bars, one is supposed to be the branch of service like infantry. That's what I wore when I got hit and medivaced on my second tour.

The CLEANEST, "no wear" uniforms I ever saw in any RVN movie!
Set aside I was there, in 1969/70 ON THE HO CHI MINH TRAIL, (Tay Ninh to be exact). NONE of the uniforms were authentic, nor the BIG white US ARMY paint jobs on the jeeps!
all in all I could not keep UP with the Defects in Movie Production!

Who shot the hero at the end? Messed up movie. But the surroundings looked very Vietnamish. I've seen worse movies but it wouldn't have taken much at all to beef this movie up to make it great. I should have written the script and directed it. Lol

More than one officer was fragged for doing something stupid like abandoning any of his men in ther field.
The military advisor is full of it probably never did a day in the army in his life !!! The combat uniforms ain't right !! And having a captain like that he'd get only one worning and after that kaboom !!
