Lingual nerve takes gva sensations like touch pain temp from anterior 2/3 rd of tongue
Taste sensations from anterior 2/3 rd of tongue are taken away via chorda tympani but these fibers which takes the taste joins lingual nerve and then continue with chorda tympani
