Totally agree! I struggle with a lot of white musks as I think the warmth is what I enjoy in a musk. I love fruity musks perfumes and some of those are white musks but generally white musk goes a bit harsh and shampooey on me, rather than the bar-soap feel of golden musks. FYI, I have realised since making this video, that all Lattafa’s have a chemical in (a fixant apparently!) that smells like harsh burnt wood / tar to me and that’s why these two didn’t smell the way I expected them to - I just can’t wear Lattafa!
I find Rouat Al musk is just a clean laundry scent. I wear it around the house for cleaning days. I can only take 1 spray of it though it’s way potent.

Since making this video I’ve worked out that Lattafa use a musk that smells like burnt wood and rubber to me (same one that floral street and Zara and tons of modern perfume houses use nowadays!) and that’s probably why I thought these both smelt the same and were super woody. you and I probably perceive these completely differently thanks to that particular musk!

At Narcisso Rodriges I absolutely hate all the perfumes that they release. Now I am in a search for a dupe for Kayali musk 12. Have you met any dupes or alternatives for Kayali’s musk?
I've worked out that most Lataffa Perfumes have an aroma chemical in that I'm hyper sensitive to and perceive as a burning rubber / bitter wood smell, so that's why I smell some perfumes so differently to other people! JHAG use ambroxan and that smells sharp and screechy to me. Whatever the synthetic musc is in NR, that just smells like chlorine to me (this is why my channel is called fusspot, lol!) I'm not keen on Kayali Musk (the Kayali Patchouli really bothers me!) so I can't help with that one really. I've got a video on warm golden musks and one on white musks in case you're interested, but my newest musk is Sarah Jessica Parker's A Lovely Summer - it smells like a classic warm and spicy musk (very similar to the old version of Coty Wild Musk) :)
I can't get that in the UK unfortunately! Asos seem to be the only place that stocks the brand and they only have a all selection of scents. Happily Inow have RochasTocade and the solid pot of Lush Rose Jam, both of which have a hint of Turkish Delight about them 🥰
I share the same sentiments w regard to narciso r perfumes ahhahaha i hate them too and like u too i keep smelling them to see if its just a bad bottle but they just dont work
I’ve learnt that I really don’t get on with aroma chemicals and in Lattafa’s (all of them!) there is a fixant that smells like burnt wood to me, so that’s what it is in these two that I didn’t like and why they smelt so similar. in NR it’s definitely the musk because I tried the recent one in the new bottle shape that has a different musk (all of me was it called?!) and it didn’t smell like a swimming pool on me like the Musc line all do. Other reviewers complained about NR changing the musk for that scent but I was glad to test one that didn’t smell like chlorine 🤣

@@skinscentsforfusspots ugh like, citrusy bug spray. There were some hints of alcohol. I could smell the underlying clean scents and think it had potential but it just smelled off every time I tried to use it.
@@frecklebackstop9491 since buying these I have discovered that Lattafa as a house just doesn’t work for me - they use a musk that I find screechy and a synthetic wood note that smells like tar to me, so none of their perfumes smell right to me! Like you said, I can smell a hint of what other people smell but to my nose something is just not right with them!

I like how you describe musks as cold vs warm. My take is white musk is cold & crisp and yellow musks are warm & cozy.

I don’t think it is a dupe specifically for NR Pure Musc but it certainly is a very clean and crisp white musk.

If you like Lattafa perfumes then I think it could be a nice musk for bed but it's not cosy, it's very crisp. Depends on your specific tastes ;)
