I've had a go at fixing my show audio after Salute, the lavalier mic makes a massive difference. Obviously, if there's any audio tech who want to offer CC, it is very welcome! Especially if you don't mind skyping with me to show me how to fix it. I'm getting better but I'd love some professional tuition. Hope you enjoy the vid folks!
Awesome stuff, sound was good except for the short interview with Sally. Do you happen to know who makes these little rocket ships from the board at 40:40?
Did a bit of digging for you, they put up an article in Wargames Journal 9 with some rules for the UFO game. Minis are mix, some from a company called "Product Enterprise" and the rest from a set of 1:144 gashapon/trading figures that Konami put out in Japan. I dunno how importing them works for you lot in the UK, but there's a list of the minis over at ufoseries.com/models
Hi Mel. Great film of a great show. Thanks for the mention and footage of our (Doncaster Gamers) 28mm U-Boat board 18 mins 42 secs in. Also for the lovely comments regarding the table. So glad you liked it. Always good to be appreciated by the experts :) Look forward to seeing you again next year.
There are amazingly talented people in this world. It seems that they are drawn to the ability to just let it out with the games. The 3rd naval engagement, all the early style wars with the Romans, Knights, Barbarians, to the modern Infantry, Tanks, Aircraft, all so amazing. I know I've said amazing so many times but it is to me just true.
You're right, it was a cracking show. I was there at the end of the video running a demo of Gangs of Rome. Just showed my wife, to prove I was there :D
The 28mm "WW2" table with the huge load of buildings looks to be "A Very British Civil War"; hence the thugs rallying around the BUF banner in the town square. That board with the U-Boat pulled up at the dock That submarine warfare game is such a smart idea. The huge gunfight table is astonishing. I really like the factory by the rail tracks and the inclusion of the steam traction engine too. Mr Men Racing!
Great vid again chap. Show looked pretty cool, you should make the trip down south to battle group south wargames show. Its a small show but set in the tank museum, always packed out.
I especially like this for the darklands table, can finally compare the model sizes since they dont have those on their website. I think there should always be a models height from base to the highest point on the body. the sizes of those are not at all what I imagined them to be for the most part. tho I also like what they have done for the game table for darklands, never imagined it would have some dungeon elements.
Hi Mel this was a great video. Who made the UFO demo game. that took me back as well. Also Warlord games make blood red skies. Wings of glory are the other lot. Nice to see them using unreleased models showing the commitment to expand the game. Wildcats, Dauntless and Devastators vs Xeros, Vals and Kates. Bombing a carrier makes for a great game. Maybe you could do a video about making a carrier deck and bridge for the terrain.
It was the South London Warlords (y'know, the Salute guys), they've apparently been refining the ruleset since the late 90s. Check Wargames Journal #9, that's where I found the info.
Hey Mel great video, but can i remind you that ANZAC doesnt only include Australia. New Zealand is the othet half to that force and continues to be even today. Otherwise it would just be called the AAC. Dont worrie, alot of Aussies forget that fact to.
If you run out of ideas for videos I bet everyone would love a "How to play Bolt Action" turorial. I know I would. I've watched a few of those on TH-cam but they suck. I know you would do a better one.

TheTerrainTutor, the sound was LEAGUES better than Salute! Well done mate!
Awesome stuff, sound was good except for the short interview with Sally. Do you happen to know who makes these little rocket ships from the board at 40:40?
Thanks mate!
The interview was a bit iffy, still got to work out the best way of doing them. No idea on the ships mate, soz

I like how there are always grumpy old men in the pictures.
This you tube channel is great because I used it to make a board game.
Every table has a grumpy old man

It was a cracking table mate, kudos!

A really stunning improvement over Salute video. Congrats! Great to see so many different boards, techniques and people enjoying themselves.
Yep, big invest in audio after salute mate

Mr Men Racing!
Many good times mate
Thanks for the detailed look, really enjoyed.
You guys seem to be WAY more into terrain over there than over here! Beautiful convention Buddy!!!!!
It's a big part of the hobby over here mate, it's an origins thing
Great video Mel! Audio is great! Can't wait for the summer - will be making terrain in the sun for months!
Thanks bud!
Speaking of the audio Mel, nice to know the 2 of us have Walter (Wendy) Carlos' "Well-Tempered Synthesizer" album from the early 70's.
Just started making my first table for bolt-action. Thank you so much for all your videos :D
So sad its not a very big game here in Sweden ;(
one of my friends recently bought a bunch of bolt action germans to use as Death corp of Krieg in 40k games.
Would love to see your take on small scale terrain, Mel, I know it would be amazing!
yeah, I want to do some small scale stuff mate
Realy enjoyed the views.
Tempted for next year
Thanks , I was running a game , (28 mins in ) and did not see all the games. Great coverage
Thank you , Mel .
Cracken show coverage Mel, I wish we had shows like that near me, closest to me is over an hour away
Rick B. aka Plastic butcher
Loved those extra small space marines @37:08.

As someone who runs a Lord of the Rings channel with terrain making on it, that Lord of the Rings table was lovely.
Great show and video. However there's something about the hex boards I don't care for
Quirky question: Who makes the U-boat at 19:00? Mel, thanks for sharing and commenting on the the show. Wish I was there.
No idea, soz bud

From (doncaster gamers)
vH Ozzy I’m the one with 40+ soviet tanks currently now up in the loft that would swamp that very nice table (and get blown up)
Russian MARK??
I guess I narrowed it down a bit too much to make it a difficult guess. Very nice table you had going on there.
its very nice i cant take any credit i believe Mark and Neil built it
Great vid Mel. Did you or Corb manage to bust that dam?
Nah Tams...he was busy at the Salon. *Gigglesnort*
No, I got soooo close and then double 6's shot out my cockpit and my pilot died :-(
Better luck next year.
=)
