Somehow, some way. Jerod LEGITIMATELY fell asleep during the storybook reading and woke up when Jack started playing his guitar.
Think you got your timeline wrong there. He fell asleep in the brief silence between Tom Simmons and the Pit opening up. Jerod even says in Tom’s vlog that he heard the whole taco story and workout, so he didn’t fall asleep during the story.

Only in Colosseum can I say sentences like "An editor comes out of a treasure chest to do ASMR then turns into an old lady from some anime", "A man in a bathrobe calmly reads about dragons eating tacos while phones go off in the background", or "The bathrobe man's true self leads us in exercises while people wrap up someone sleeping on a couch" and not sound crazy

during the original stream I lost my mind when Klinket popped out of the chest to do AMSR. I couldn't stop laughing for several minutes
During the start of the segment I kept asking myself and in chat, “Has that chest always been there?” Lo and behold, it had not and it served a greater purpose.

This segment was a beautiful fever dream, and I loved every minute! I'm not sure if the joke will work more than once, though, unless you changed the activity in the background. I believe Sab brought up doing a jigsaw while people do shenanigans around it. Maybe that could be the sequel in a couple years.
I missed this segment during Colo cause took a nap myself, I legit thought there was gonna be a break during the middle of the day to make sure people had energy further into the day

Kampy was such a champ with getting unintentionally stuck on the couch and going along with the motions of the rest of the segment (like rocking out to Jack's concert).
Legends say Kampy is still attached to the couch to this day.
I find it more hilarious that Jerod legitimately didn't notice Kampy standing there when Masae woke him up.

My main thought during this is that it felt like something an indie band would do for a viral music video. One shot, crazy stuff happening, guy inexplicably sleeping through it all.

Every time I think I've seen the most unhinged segment TRG could possibly come up with, somebody tries to one up it. We got a new contender here ladies and gentlemen. Gotta say, surprisingly hilarious of a segment. Short, sweet, and too the point. I like it.
This was the most unique segment they've done. I hope to see more performance art like this in the future.

I actually fell asleep for a bit during the Overcooked Segment and woke up around the 15 minute mark. That was something to see without context
If you go and the watch the stream where Jon did a recap of coliseum it makes this segment much better due to context For example Jyggy explained that the main reason kampung was there during the couch was to keep the lamp from falling on the couch. He actually got stuck during the couch wrapping and had to stay there. I honestly recommend anyone who didn’t catch it live to watch this stream. It really helps to put the whole coliseum event into perspective

I actually slept while this part of the segment was playing when I was watching it on Jon's Twitch channel long after TRGC has ended.

Leave it Colosseum to find a way to not only break Twitch's old "No Sleeping On Stream" rule, but also monetize it and incentivize it for charity??? Truly a work of art, this segment.
IIRC, Aelita (One of Jon's mods) said that either the rule had been changed or removed (I don't remember which) so I don't think they broke Twitch TOS at all & I don't think a segment would get included if it broke TOS

I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't want to see this again next year. It was great, don't get me wrong, but it relied heavily on the elements of 'what the hell is this' and 'is this really happening', neither of which would be present if they do it again.

They could easily do this again, what are you talking about? There's countless things they could do around someone sleeping lol
@@PerfectKirby It's not just about what they do. The segment worked in large part because nobody knew what to expect from it, which would.not be true a second time (even if the specific things they do are different, the concept would be the same).
