@ 12:45 that tip on calibrating A & B mixes . I Was in a mixing session shadowing an engineer and noticed he would go from the 8” yamaha studio monitors make some adjustments then throw on some Studio headphones , and make adjustments as well. End result was very balanced mix on both monitors and headphones .
If you also have the 990 pros, how do they compare? I am using these right now and am thinking about upgrading to the 1990 Pro mk2. I am a little afraid that I am going to get them and there is no difference in sound.
I love my 1990 Pros. Incredible sound with very little burn in required. Had a 3X Grammy winner tell me that a piece I produced was rock solid top to bottom. Did the whole piece with the 1990 Pros. SuPer comfortable. Great sounding track!
I recently bought the less expensive Beyerdynamic 900 Pro X and these sound spectacularly unspectacular, which is exactly how I like it for mixing and mastering. Very, very neutral and as a result less fatiguing. Comfortable as well and build like a tank.
I own Both of the MK1 versions and the 990’s are my daily drivers when using headphones but I might have to upgrade. When I can’t use my KRK monitors, I use the 990’s almost exclusively when making beats and mixing and the 770’s when recording so there’s less bleed.
I have the original DT1990 Pro. Best headphones for mixing and mastering. And You don’t need Sonarworks… which changes the profile anyway. They’re perfect headphones straight out the box.
I was able to test the DT 1990 PRO Mark 2 today. Definitely an upgrade compared to its predecessor, especially since the treble profile is much smoother (finally). It's still a more detailed and brighter sounding headphones - but I like it!
The 1770 headphones sound about the same. However, when you push the headphones louder, they don’t distort as much. They are very clear even at loud levels. I never used the original 1990 headphones but these sound incredible!
@@BoloDaProducer i was asking about the 1990 unfortunately anyway thanks for reply. Subbed. I would like to hear more details about the sound itself more than about design features in the future. Keep up the g work!
Have you had a chance to compare the 900 Pro X vs DT1990 mk2? Loving my DT700 Pro X I just got. For opens I'm flipping through several I got for music enjoyment but could use a dedicated mix and master headphone since I can't use full monitors
Is theres something distinct visually on the 1990s mk2? I'd swear i got those two years ago. Ah nevermind i see it. The grills look like the other ones now in a straight vertical way. Also a logo on the band clips rather than text.
Ill think I just use my chance on the used market for the old version now. Can imagine alot of MK1s now go on the market and available for relatively cheap, but we will see
Yo Bolo ... dang bruh ... As soon as I think that I have good middle of the road headphones ... U wanna introduce the MK2 versions. Y'all keeping me real BROKE ... lol
Just a small tip for people. The cables are replaceable yes but make sure your backup cables aren’t from temu just saying
I like Rockville brand
Amazed how I can still learn good recording tips during a product review. Be blessed Bolo!
Happy to help!

I have the 1990 Pro.
Best set I’ve owned and I own a gang of headphones.

9:29 that’s an amazing mix bolo. The best already sounds 3 dimensional. Everything is sitting in the mix perfectly.
Thanks!
Another dope production!!!
Appreciate that!
Just saw the live chat and coming over to support. I have two pair, 1 was $150 and the other was $300 about 7 years ago. Good products.

Im deciding between these versus the focal azurys. Which sounds better?

The mark 1s had removable cables. Maybe you meant the 990s?
@ yeah ur right. I always miss that “1” in front lol
Dope beat and the mix sounds good
Thanks!

Yes!!
I’ve been Beyerdynamic all the way for years now. I have two pairs of DT-770 Pro’s, One DT-990 Pro, and one DT-1350 but they need the cable replaced.
Have you tried the NDH 30 from neuman?
Dope Dope track Bolo…..
Awesome review Bolo, thanks for that 🔥 Really enjoyed watching it, have fun with your new studio headphones!
I might get that bag… Thanks Lo!

I got the dt770 limited edition earlier this year. They’re in between both 770 and 990 🔥🔥🔥
Facts!!! I own a pair.
That beat was fucking tight. I would add a sort of "emotional deep piano chord" to it, maybe with filter loops (like shaperbox) on it !!
How you compare the MK2's with the OG ones? Do they sound better or worse in your opinion?

Love that beat Bro!

🤣🤣🤣, advertised Zzounds but used a Sweetwater link.
I own the DT-1770 Pro, those are probably the best headphones I ever owned.
Zzounds ain’t got them yet lol

Realphones 2 helped me.
BOLO will tell you anything sounds good if they paying em lol jk haha 😂 I can’t be the only one Lol
You should see all of the products I don’t promote… 🤣
Salute 👍🏾 🫡
I feel so poor with my AKG’s looking at these. 😮
So little actual info about the headphone, and when you did talk specifications you got them wrong
Would you like to share with everyone what exactly is wrong?
I love my 900 prox they are so clean sounding
Well said, we can't hear them. A headphone review is based on how much you trust the reviewer.
And we believe Bolo 😎🎧🎚
Thanks!
