Great review. I really enjoyed the detail about the driving experience. I like to know what it's like to drive a vehicle when I watch a review. This one is spot on. So many reviewers get bogged down in the details about the infotainment system but not here. Keep up the reviews!

FYI the rear seats DO recline using the levers near the outer bottom of the outboard seats. They fold down using the buttons on top of the seats.

I like that standard on the Onyx is the star tex vinyl seating, blind spot/rear traffic alert with very noticeable markers on the inside of the mirrors, not IN the outside portion of the mirror itself, power tailgate, power drivers seat, roof rails with those built-in crossbars, wireless phone connectivity, adequate power in a non-turbo engine, and the best AWD you can buy. Just wish Subaru provided a longer warranty, even a 4 yr/60K miles would be more reassuring with all those electronics on board.

Just traded in our 2020 crosstrek due to my wife wanting a new warranty... Went with the onyx... So far we're thrilled and the dogs have more room... Power wise compared to the premium it's with the upgrade compared to the 2022 outback... Power isn't there and there's no options for drive so yeah, I can see why people are complaining about the 2022 compared to the 2023 with more options for your get up and go...

I just picked up this same model/color today and love it. FYI to anyone considering one, I’d try to grab a 2023 as the sales guy I dealt with said the 24’s should start rolling out in June and advised there’s a $2K price increase on Outback’s.

Saw comments regarding the climate controls being ahhh. Honestly everything is voice activated, so as long as the kids aren't screaming I can do anything with my voice like turn in the heated seats, change temp/fan speed etc. Startex isn't vinyl, it's urethane which is UV resistant and should hold up better.

I test drove an Onyx XT last week. Loved it. I am a bit concerned how reliable the driver is on the touchscreen. If that quits, does the car still run? There are no manual buttons to adjust climate control. It’s all on the touchscreen.

My lease is ending next year on my 2020 Subaru Forester Touring. I am having a difficult time trying to decide whether to trade or keep. I will be at 60,000 miles next year. And I am not sure if I want to keep it at that many miles. I am considering the 2023 Outback onyx Xt and the wilderness. I have noticed with my chrome on my forester so hard to keep clean. I am also seeing what Subaru of America will release the 2024 forester.

At 12:49 he touches the mechanism that allows the back seat to recline a little, just before later saying it does not recline. It is a common mistake I see on video reviews of both the 2023 and 2024 Subaru Outback Onyx. They do in fact recline a little...certainly not a full recline. Maybe 15 degrees. I do not understand reviewers missing that so often. I have the 2024 Subaru Outback Onyx...like it so far. The latch for folding the seat down is at the top of the seat.

It seems that they would since they’re in bed with Toyota.

Subaru really needs to enter into the 21st century and actually do what they say about loving the environment.
