I have tasted both. I'd say Amritsar is better when it comes to North Indian dals, subzis and kulchas. Chaat is better in Karol Bagh. Puri/Bhature Chhole are equally good in my opinion.

Went to Delhi in 2008 for a conference and stayed at Swati. I can say that I still remember the taste of Shudh hotel where I had my daily breakfast and lunch and also I had gol gappas. Marvelous!. By the way my grandfather had studied at Tibbia college almost 100 yrs back. Felt nostagic about the place even after two generations

Once I went to travel in Delhi with our family members. At that time I was a boy under the age of fourteen. Then I visited the popular place named Corol Bag. There we purchased a lot of garments for our family members. The blog remembers my boy hood days of the capital of India and the man who was a main person of the journey is my father. He is no more today and I was emotional to watch the video as well.
I use to live in Karol bagh 50 years ago it brings back the memories Roshan the kulfi Chat at Rupak store and lots of other things Cakes at Gurdwara road and lots of shopping in gaffar market

Hi Bali, regarding Roopak Stores, I remember as a 10 year old kid(in late 70s) this used to be a regular stop for us whenever we came to Karol Bagh which was quite often. The Roopak stores are very closely related to MDH people-perhaps real brothers. Those days, they used to have a big water cooler (electric dispenser) installed outside their store. It used to dispense jal jeera. Never had such yummy jal-jeera all my life. A glass of jal-jeera would cost us 25 paise so we were allowed only one glass each by our mom. Good old days... :-)
oh! so nice to have this comment... 0.25p for jaljeera... plus like you mention you have never had a jal jeera better than that.... i don't know why but as we grow up we reduce our intake of Jal-jeera types street food drinks but when we are kids we have that often.. It's such a beautiful name but when u write it in short form, the name changes. It won't have the same meaning and writing it like this is a Disrespect to the name itself and our Prophet Muhammad ( Sallal laho alaihai wa aalayhe wasalam ) ..... (Maaz Allah)
The changed / short form of the name , won't have same blessings that belong to the full form of name.
Why you write it in short cut ? Why not the full form ?

U can find samosa for RS.5 in New Delhi from many places even near Govindpuri metro station there are 100s of snacks shops where you can find samosa for RS.5

Went to Delhi in 2008 for a conference and stayed at Swati. I can say that I still remember the taste of Shudh hotel where I had my daily breakfast and lunch and also I had gol gappas. Marvelous!. By the way my grandfather had studied at Tibbia college almost 100 yrs back. Felt nostagic about the place even after two generations

I have fond memories of having Roshan di Kulfi and Chole Bhature with my younger brother, mom, and dad.
Once I went to travel in Delhi with our family members. At that time I was a boy under the age of fourteen. Then I visited the popular place named Corol Bag. There we purchased a lot of garments for our family members. The blog remembers my boy hood days of the capital of India and the man who was a main person of the journey is my father. He is no more today and I was emotional to watch the video as well.

I use to live in Karol bagh 50 years ago it brings back the memories Roshan the kulfi Chat at Rupak store and lots of other things Cakes at Gurdwara road and lots of shopping in gaffar market

It was nice to see your video it made me remind me my childhood we used to visit Roshan di kulfi when ever we went for shopping at Karol Bagh and not only kulfi we had many other things also there and now will try other places also specially Sindhi corner

Hi Bali, regarding Roopak Stores, I remember as a 10 year old kid(in late 70s) this used to be a regular stop for us whenever we came to Karol Bagh which was quite often.
The Roopak stores are very closely related to MDH people-perhaps real brothers.
Those days, they used to have a big water cooler (electric dispenser) installed outside their store. It used to dispense jal jeera. Never had such yummy jal-jeera all my life. A glass of jal-jeera would cost us 25 paise so we were allowed only one glass each by our mom.
Good old days... :-)
oh! so nice to have this comment... 0.25p for jaljeera... plus like you mention you have never had a jal jeera better than that.... i don't know why but as we grow up we reduce our intake of Jal-jeera types street food drinks but when we are kids we have that often..
