- WWE 2K24 trailer and news just dropped and holy, what a bomb. Not only did we get conformation that 40 years of WRESTLEMANIA IS BACK! But even more bombs were dropped! New features, new match types, details on new mechanics, new settings. SO MUCH NEWS and 90% of it is looking promising. In this short video I will discuss my thoughts and reactions to all the footage we just got from the WWE 2K24 trailer and all the news that was dropped on WWE.COM!

I feel like the first 30 years of Mania will still be 🔥, just the last 10 might get a little cooked because of all the talent that left

I'm not going to get my hopes up just because of a few announcements of match types and a WrestleMania showcase that could be floundered in a second by 2K. Staying cautiously optimistic is all you have to be.

Imo, there will be like 2 to 3 matches per WrestleMania, some of course will only have one. You do the math how many there Will be
Apparently, the number of signature and finisher slots have been raised from 2 per wrestler to 5. This means that if certain moves have multiple variations in terms of position or animation, we can put them on the wrestlers without having to swap them out as much. Nice small detail I just saw.
Unfortunately, we will not be getting at least one match from every Mania. The number of matches in showcase mode is confirmed to be under 30, which sucks. 2K just doesn't seem to care much about Showcase mode wrestler restrictions or not.

Now 2K needs to bring back features like Create a story, Custom Music, Create a Finisher.
They already got the referee match back so I think that could be a possibility for 2k25
They're never going to bring back Create a Finisher. It's just too goofy for their ultra realistic gameplay style. I want to be wrong though.
I doubt that Custom Music will ever come back due to possible copyright issues, but I will agree that Create-a-Finisher & Create-a-Story should come back, but a match type I believe needs to return is the 3 Stages of Hell.
I think Create A Story is the only one that would come out basically unchanged. Custom music can’t happen due to copyright stuff. And create a finisher, will definitely not come out as the same mode it was.
Definitely don't see them bringing create-a-finisher back unless it gets major tweaks. Kids were making the most broken and irreversible finishers imaginable to use them online and cheese for wins. It was SUPER toxic, lol.
I couldn’t even get into the last 2k. I really hope they fix the lag and disconnects online, ultimately that makes the buy or pass decision

Really I feel like your the first person who despise about switch gameplay to actual footage on the showcase I actually like it because it make it feel like some anime shut or someone telling the story with some good music that actually feels right for the scene

Another thing that made 2k14 iconic was creating finishers and obviously they won't bring back that feature, I'm not excited about these new 2k games anymore ,old games were too much better and realistic but 2k games lost so many arts that made a wrestling game enjoyable

Im personally excited to play as Superstar Billy Graham in the game. How it took this long to put him in the game is unknown to me. I hope we can get some other legends that haven't been featured much like Terry Funk, Bob Backlund, Mr. Wonderful, Wendi Richter, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, among others.
I think with Vince McMahon out of the picture, we'll be seeing some mended fences with legends who were at odds with the WWE.

I do not know, but it seems like 2k wanted to go all in with this game. A showcase so special, 40 years of the show that changed wrestling forever, could be an opportunity to make special deals with single wrestlers, like Edge, Jericho, Bryant, Big Show and Flair. The other companies could agree because would be a sort of advertisement. And also as a sign of gratitude not to the WWE, but to Wrestlemania.
i read a comment around time Edge went AEW that even if they could get the rights for stars signed to other companies, WWE themself might not want to include them since they could see it was "advertising another companies star"

@@DoseOfMauriceI loved 2k23 if 24 is better than that I'll be happy as hell.. I also don't mind the old wrestlers cuz my universe is usually based around the 90s/early 00s anyway..I love the fact they give us so many legends.
I just hope universe mode actually expands rivalries. We had only one on one and tag rivalries for a while when we need triple threat/four way rivalries (even stuff like a ppv specific rivalry like elimination chamber and mitb but it probably won’t be there)

Me personally I like the cutscenes. It makes me feel like I'm really in the match. Plus its cool to look back at a lot of classics.
I like it alot more to but hate how you have to do stupid specific tasks to make it go forward.it should just play regardless of doing the move. It should just play by itself

But talking about submissions I really hope that it is possible to crawl to the ropes and get a rope break like in the svr games. I know its just a little gimmick and detail but i loved it back then tbh

40 years of Wrestlemania and all we get is 21 matches very disappointment where I look at 2K 14 30 years of Wrestlemania 47 matches because this game is getting hyped up again like it always do does Universal mode sound like they didn't even touch it my Rises is my rise in Gmis probably be better this year
2k14"s showcase is the best to exist but I started on 2k14 so I'm very excited to see 40 years of WM. No showcase has touched 30 years of mania since
U should go back and play the attitude era 1 in 13 that one was amazing too. Also stone colds in 16 was really really good.. I'd say those are my favorites,.. 13, 14 and 16 when it comes to showcase.
I really look forward to playing certain bangers from the attitude and ruthless aggression era's that we didn't get a chance of playing in 2k14 like

Wrestlemania 19 - Brock vs Kurt
Wrestlemania 20 - Undertaker vs Kane (just to hear slow chemical 😂)
Wrestlemania 21 - Michaels vs Kurt & Undertaker vs Orton
Wrestlemania 22 - Angle vs Mysterio vs Orton
I would definitely love to play through some of these along with the other great ones we got in 2k14 for the respective Mania's. One other match that I am honestly looking forward to playing is Wrestlemania 31 Roman VS Brock (just to revisit the Heist of the Century).
I don't think they're going to have any Orton matches that feature the Burn in my Light version or Slow Chemical Kane.

I’d love to see more stuff like the legendary trilogy of the TLC matches between Hardy’s, E&C, and the Dudley’s from Attitude Era! Adding some of the WCW/ECW invasion stuff again would be cool too since this was a KEY part of WWE history.
2K24 has the potential to be straight up legendary. While yes, it will suck to see certain legends not be included due to contracts, I’m hoping 40 years can still be fun. Also the fact that Special Referee, Casket matches, and Gauntlet matches are coming back, HELL YEAH! Also the fact that the Ambulance match is making its console debut after being a DS exclusive for so long, I swear this is gonna be so fun😁.

This could be the greatest wrestling game of all time imo I think the last ten will be mid but 37-39 will be great i think. Casket match, SGR is back, AMBULANCE Match, Gauntlet match, myrise might be the best it’s ever been. Backstage brawl got even better. Im hyped!

They’ve been giving most of the fans just about everything they have asked for and will only keep going. Game has all the tools to be ELITE. Now they just gotta put it in motion. This game can be an all-time great in the WWE game conversation if expectations are exceeded.

Graphics and the short ramp look exact the same. They need to upgrade the lighting at least for next gen. Look at the wm25 footage it looks nothing liek real wm25 and they should let us adjust height and zoom for camera. All sports game have this its not niche at all
I think the camera they'll utilize will be the NBA 2K camera system. Just that. But it's a good addition.
Once you play 23, theres no point of playing 22 but you can go back to 19 for a good experience

This game won't be as cracked out as 2K14, but I'm still hopeful that this will be the best 2K game since 2K14.
I would love if they could work out some type of deal with AEW to get Ric Flair, Big Show and Jericho in the game, but they won't even attempt to do such a thing.
2k19 had the showcase in game cutsecenes and a great career mode with better match flow gameplay when yukes were the developors. What is 2k games excuse? These guys are just lazy and the casuals eat it up.
If the core gameplay isn't goated i don't care about anything they add.
Having to grapple before doing every move including an irish whip is a huge step back for the series. Until the fix that i really don't care

Expect 2K24 to be the new Here Comes The Pain. 2k just signed a new contract with the WWE last year. Not sure for how many years but WWE is expecting big things from this company

Maybe this year finally we will see a good WWE 2K game. Don't get me wrong, 2K23 was good but it wasn't epic.
2k is really good with marketing a lot of this stuff sounds good on paper but hopefully they execute everything well

WM 40 is gonna be a custom arena just like how WM 30 was in 2k14.
Probably the release version for the Showcase, but I think the fact that they're waiting until after release for the official arena is a good sign that some effort might be put into it.

40 years of WrestleMania. Some matches that have been asking for YEARS.. Ad Nauseam. I feel like this could be the one game, the ONE Game that I can call the 🐐 post-2K14 (Yes I loved 2K23, but I felt like there was one piece missing from the puzzle).

As a person who only plays against the computer or AI special guest referee is the dumbest mode there is like you said it's fun for a bunch of friends screwing with each other and content creators and that's it I would be fine to do it in my Rise if it was part of the story but no where else

40 years of WM will only have 21 matches in total, it has been confirmed by the devs.
I really thought I was the only one who felt this way about showcase. 2k showcase was done so perfectly in 2k15 and hell even 2k16’s austin showcase. The way they have been doing showcase lately these past few years I’m really just not a fan of, and it kinda seems lazy. Incorporating real life footage instead of giving us cutscenese

It's gonna be 2k14 but with a downgrade and less cool moments and alot of Roman when we get to 30
I would love a wwe competitive mode similar to fight night champion, where you can win matches until eventually you become number one contender for the title, and whoever is champion has to log on to defend their titles or else they vacate it. Also the rankings for players can be based on title wins, how long they was held and how good is your general win loss record. I'm not expecting it to be perfect but it coulr be refreshing for wwe and fans who want to really feel like a champion fighting players across your country and such

I wish we could’ve got the I Quit & Inferno match types as well, but I’m happy we at least got four “new” match types to make the game feel fresh again. Bc 2K22 & 2K23 we’re cool but after a while they felt boring bc of how limited the game is. I especially with very lackluster rosters.

Super finishers… one of them is a trifecta of Cross Rhodes, as confirmed by Bryan Williams.
The main selling point of the game is three stages of hell.
Some points about 2K24 I wanna make clear:
1) The 40 Years of WrestleMania Showcase Mode, while potentially great, admittedly, won't be a fully complete mode without all of the big names that left.
2) I personally DON'T MIND the Slingshot stuff too much.
3) Special referee matches are gonna be crazy, along with the new additions of Casket Matches and also an AMBULANCE MATCH. Glad to see those matches make their 2K debut.
4) MyRise should be good as always but we haven't heard anything major yet when it comes to that one. MyGM is alright and I just avoid MyFaction whenever possible.
5) The interchangeable camera angles during matches is an AWESOME feature, and I wonder why it took so long for 2K to integrate it into the game.
6) Additional players in backstage brawls, up to 4 at a time, will make for some crazy and chaotic yet also fun scenarios.
All in all, this new era of 2K games that started with 2K22 is mainly on a course of steady progression since then, so I'm definitely pre-ordering before Mania. (In case Cody loses)
