I think they're gonna give you a different set of starters like Legends Arceus. But like how XY also gave you the Kanto starters, Z-A will give you the Kalos starters with new mega evolutions.

Personally I think they'll probably keep Mega's but just NOT in the main series VGC game like they did with Let's Go and now Z-A, if not just keeping it exclusive to the single player Legends games Because people may joke about them trying to bury it but that's just not true they've kept them around in the spin-offs And for that reason I think they'll do both regional variants of other starters, something that will ACTUALLY stick around while the mega's won't
First off, love these animated Roundtable sections, they're so good! Second, my hope and theory for the starters is that it'll basically be like XY. You picked the Kalos Starter at the beginning of the game, and then you pick a Mega Evolving Kanto Starter later on. I'm hoping you'll get a different starter with a new Regional Form, and then you'll pick a Kalos Starter that can Mega Evolve later on
I think there’s a strong chance that Mega Evolution will return in Gen 10. From what we saw with Legends Arceus and Scarlet & Violet, they wouldn’t introduce any new Pokemon or forms without them being playable in the main series at SOME point.
In the anime, it mentions Greninja was the only Greninja to undergo a transformation, so I’m curious if they will expand on that. I also wondered if there would be new megas.
Ok this was fun to see get a bit animated. Hey MASP, when you get a chance use their animated heads in a video meme of sticking them on the heads of those dancers from the PokèDance video from Pokémon’s TH-cam channel
I think the starters will be snivy,scorbunny and piplup because they all fit in with the France vipe like snivys last form just looks French piplups final form sounds like napoleon and scorbunny is like football/soccer and france is a popular team in the sport
Hot take: I don't want the Kalos starters to get Megas. I want them to get the Bond Phenomenon and then have their nature as foils to Mega Evolution play a role in the story's development. It'd be a little redundant to give Greninja a Mega when he has his Ash-Greninja form, even if Game Freak really is THAT committed to trying to erase the form from history.
If the kalos starters get megas, i hope they change their secondary typings, at least for chesnaught and delphox, greninja is fine already. Chesnaught should be grass steel and give it an ability to account for that fire weakness. Delphox should be fire fairy and an ability that enhances special attack or something
@stephvondames6369 That would be really cool, ghost is my favorite type so I wouldn't complain. But I think if they were to change Greninja's secondary type poison would be better as it fits the rouge/thief/assassin motif of Greninja a bit better
Bro the kalos starers aren’t getting megas lol they legit didn’t even give new forms to the shinnoh starters and now we’re expecting new megas for Pokémon that didn’t have megas in a future game l? Nah people just need to be open to them game and not make a checklist of things they say “need to be there” even tho they have legit no say in the process. It’s a big problem in all fandoms
I mean the thing is, they didn’t really say no when it comes to Z-A getting new Megas. I agree we should keep our expectations in check as I don’t expect that many new Megas evolutions. (If there are any)

I'd love Megas for the Kalos starters. Lots of starters still don't have it, so it'd go towards fixing the issue.
