Here’s what got me into Shadamy: Sonic mostly tries to run away from Amy as she pursues him. Most of her and Shadow’s moments are a lot smoother and Shadow is an alternate more edgy Sonic

I think the fandom of this ship started because everyone knew that Sonic always ran away from Amy, when she loved him but he didn't, so Amy met Shadow and they clicked or something, Lol. and everyone just thought that because Sonic didn't love Amy back that Shadow would make a better couple, I think they make a great couple. my favorite actually! it all started when Amy mistakes Shadow for sonic and now they are a couple!

From what I know, i think shadamy started because one of the writers of the Sonic Archie Comics stated that Shadow and Amy are the ancestors of silver. Because of this, people started to ship shadamy and draw silver as their child. But the creator of Shadow debunk the writer's statement that Shadow doesn't have any relationship with Silver in any way.
They mainly got it from Sonic and the Black Knight.Since Shadow is Lancelot and Silver is Galahad,people think that Shadow is Silver's father since Lancelot is Galahad's father.

Here's your anser shadow Q: How did ShadAmy come to be?
A: People started shipping ShadAmy as soon as 2001, after the ARK scene debuted in 'Sonic Adventure 2'. It held a moderate fan base, with many clubs, shrines, and fan fiction communities, up until about 'Shadow the Hedgehog' in 2005. By the time 2006 had come around the fanbase had shrunk considerably, many of the clubs and sites fell inactive, with a lot of their maintainers having grown out of the fandom and overall lack of interest due to the character's little interaction in the games. However, a small dedicated fan base still existed, as well a number of newer , younger fans remained, and in 2007 banded together to create an active Shadamy club . It started with only a handful of members who bonded over the shipping and used their talents to create new works for each other to enjoy. Today, ShadAmy has exponentially risen in popularity, with l artwork and stories still continuing to be made.

Okay, according Sonic 06, Shadow was put into permanent stasis because he was blamed for the destruction Mephiles caused, also Shadow is immortal. There was no possible way he could've met a female hedgehog, got together with her and had a child, and even if they did, he would've outlived them long before Iblis destroyed everything.
Also, does Shadow in the actual canon strike you as someone who would want to be in a romantic relationship, much less become a parent? He's only like that in fanfiction but in the actual canon, Shadow prefers to be by himself and only really interacts with Sonic and the others when it's time to save the world.
And one last thing...Silver doesn't look anything like Shadow. When Sonic got married to Sally and had children in the Archie comics, he had a son that looked just like him. If Silver really was Shadow's son, he would have at least some resemblance but he doesn't...like at all!

One lesser known reason is that in shadow the hedgehog the game, theres a route called the power of love. Where your dark for the first 2 missions, then on the 3rd mission you go hero. Amy is the hero character and shadamy shippers use that as an excuse. Even though it's not a canon route and the only canon part of shadow is the last story segment but hey whatever. I dont personally ship shadamy, I only really ship shadouge and Silvaze, but I don't judge others for doing so. Also please look up shadouge.
