dude i just picked up the razor on a pre black friday deal for $599. im beside myself. i can only assume somethingnew is in the close future but its a great deal for it. i love it.( coming from a strike eagle)
The older 25oz versions are being heavily discounted since the lightened version has been released. For $600 though the performance you are getting is phenomenal.
great job. good info. im rocking my PA standard SFP 1-8x ACSS on my go-to FN 16" M4/RECCE and LOVE it! Its a great scope but not quite on the level of these two. I also have the PA platinum FFP 1-8x ACSS aboard my DD5V1 .308 battlerifle and LOVE it too. It IS on the level of these two imo. Its heavy but its flat out amazing in all respects plus it has the incompareable ACSS reticle which is hands down the best BDC/ranging reticle in the industry. LPVOs are definetely the way to go.

Of course they dont really compare since the vortex is basically a combat optic and the swaro is a hunting optic. The swaro is going to be light and luxurious with brilliant glass. The vortex you could probably use as a hammer and it would only sustain damage to the finish, probably would even hold zero.
The only difference between the E and the original is the weight. The E weighs a little over 21oz, the original a little over 25oz. Other than that they're identical

@@waldobirch oh, gotcha! This is the 25.6oz model. The z6i weighs 15.5oz. the E is like 21.5ish. I've found the reduced weight on my scar 17 made it so much more wieldable. Those oz make a big difference on that high axis.
They get brighter than you need them to... There's no reason to ever max out the brightness setting on these scopes, you'll just get a worse sight picture.
I ve got a Swar Z8i 1-8x recently. I m disappointed because it has chromatic aberration control issue especially at 8x power...dude, does your Z6i has CA control problem at 6x? like image looks purple in someway?

Way too heavy.. it weighs 9oz more than the z6i and 3oz more than the razor. 24.6oz, thing is a lead brick man haha. Maybe if you bench rest at the range all day tacking paper but in classes, we run around with these things and even my 15oz z6i can be annoying during manipulations. I don't care for 1-8s in general.. I don't get any benefit for the weight increase. The Swarovski Z8i weighs 18oz though if your heart is set on 8x.. that 6oz weight loss is a world of a difference.

Your stature doesn't effect the horrible physics you create by putting a heavy optic on the highest axis of the rifle. Good glass IS very light, the z8i is 18oz haha.. which is almost a half lb lighter. That's a huge difference.

I have mine on an 18.6" barreled rifle it's not a light weight running around corners rifle. Makes a difference what you're using it for. If you're only shooting inside 100-200 yards I'd just get a red dot n call it a day. Lol.

And that entails a lot of magnum or break actions for rather absurdly long calibers like .450 Rigby), where the Vortex would be just too short to bridge the gap to mount correctly. A rather peculiar scope that goes beyond 1x to give you a unique wide angel view with absurd levels of unobstructed view. At 0.75 it kind of feels like an edgeless heads-up red-dot.

@@shootinbruin3614 I have looked trough it a few times in stores and mounted on friends rifles. But unfortunately have not tested it extensively yet, as due to covid my last two hunting seasons where devoid of much driven hunting and so the need to buy/test myself a new scope for them was non-existent. But with the limited experience I have with it, I felt that the "below 1 magnification" makes it feel like you can look through the border of the scope if you get used to it. As the inner picture covers all that would otherwise be obstructed by the scope barrel. So in a way, I preferred it to a red-dot. (But mind you, I tried it on rifles that offered very repeatable cheekweld, so I didn't test how effectively it tolerates parallax ) What can cause a slightly weird feeling though is the slightly "slowed down" motion of the picture (relative to the surrounding picture) in the scope at 0,75x when swinging the rifle. Though, at least for me, that only took a few swings to get used to. I shall write again, if I have any more testing experience.

The only difference between the E and the original is the weight. The E weighs a little over 21oz, the original a little over 25oz.

Why wouldn't you max out both brightness settings, are you afraid you'll brake it or something???
They get brighter than you need them to... There's no reason to ever max out the brightness setting on these scopes, you'll just get a worse sight picture.

3oz is nothing. I guess if your smaller framed then maybe. Well worth the performance in my opinion plus much better glass. Good glass ain't light.
