Did that collet from ebay have the left hand threads already spun into them?

do you have AC supply 240V?

      Correct 240V and 50 Hz

How much runout do you have on the ER20 chuck?? No one ever post that information on these conversions.

Yes you are right because I never ran the dial indicator on it. Visually it looks good but I have not fitted that spindle to a CNC machine yet. I believe that motor really needs some engineering work on the bearings to be any practical use.
The motor itself is quite powerful and could be improved with an axial thrust bearing on the top of the motor and perhaps a radial thrust bearing near the collet.

@@postiemania Thank for the quick response I just received a similar 500 Watt motor today with an ER11 collet. I checked the runout and I was amazed. Sorry I am i the States so all my dimension are in inches. Run out on the collet spindle taper was maybe .0001 of an inch. Yes that is one ten thousandths of a inch. Actually it was better than that but a .0001 indicator was the finest i had. I then installed a .125 cutter in the collet and check the run out of the tool. It was maybe .0003 of an inch !! I can live with. I think this motor with small cutter will be fine and run for a long time. I think a .250 dia cutter would be pushing the limits of the motor bearings for any kind of life. Perhaps it would be better to build your own spindle with good bearing and a ER-16 collet setup and use a poly vee belt from the motor to drive the spindle.

Where'd you get the Collet that you attached to it?

What components would I use for 120volts? Im in the US.
    Thank you!

A bridge rectifier rated at 400 volts and 25 amps and the capacitor should be rated at 400 vdc

Thank you! So I would need the same capacitor as you are using?
Have a link to the capacitor? Would I need a inductor?
