Honda Grom Saddlemen Seat- Worth The Upgrade? (Install/Review)

- Ever since my first ride on my new Grom, I knew that the stock seat had to be one of the first things to go. I found it to be suuuper uncomfortable and it tended to roll me forward on the bike. I originally planned to get a typical Amazon/Ebay Honda Grom seat, until I found out that Saddlemen made a gel seat for the bike! I knew right away that I had to get it!
Lots of people have Saddlemen seats on their Harleys and love them, but for a $2,800 Grom, a $300 seat is a hard pill to swallow. So today we're installing the new Saddlemen seat on my Honda Grom to find out if it's worth the price!

You should check out Corbin seats. They make them for the 1100 and you can customize the colors and material of the seat as well.

i just got class M added to my license and i was considering a Grom (this is how i found your channel) as my first bike...
but my friend says i'll look silly and outgrow it too fast 😔
I'd say don't worry about looking silly but definitely think about getting a higher displacement as a first bike. I got a 300 last year and even now after just a year the bike feels fun but obviously underpowered. The Grom will definitely bring that on pretty quick, and doesn't really teach the right riding styles/shifting of a full-size bike because you're going to be romping on the throttle pretty much 100% of the time. Of course that's all IMO do what feels right though! That's what riding is about at the end of the day
Ayy Maryland gang, let’s go!! 🤘🏻 I think the Grom could potentially be a good first bike, but personally I’d recommend a 300cc bike or bigger. That extra power gives you a lot of confidence, helps you get out of tricky situations, and allows to do much more with the bike. The Grom could make a great first bike because it’s so easy to use, BUT definitely go into knowing that you’ll need to upgrade/get a second bike in the future. I think Groms are more of a secondary/play around bike in my eyes. Plus, with the price that they’ve been going for you could easily find a bigger first bike for the same price, or even less. Hope that helps man!

tbh my first choice was the Rebel 500... but then i saw the CB300R and CB500F and i wasn't so sure what i really wanted lol

I really want this seat but I'm concerned that the step up will be like the SF stock seat and I don't want to feel like I'm locked into a pushed forward seating position. What are your thoughts? I'm about 5'10" and at full tuck I think the hump will be in the way and frustrating.

Nice looking seat. The stock seat is like a Cinder Block, my cheap solution was a MadDog ATV cover. The most irritating thing is search for Rebel Saddlemen seat and there are lots of choices, but, but, they are for the Low Rider S...

Hey, thanks for the review. I have a saddlemen on my harley. I was looking at that for my grom too. I have a 2018 grom the seat on the website says 14 to 16 groms. Yours looks like a 18 as well?
Mine’s actually a 2015. I don’t think they make a seat for the 2018 unfortunately 😔
How the passenger seat comfort?
All my Honda seats have been uncomfortable to say the least- just why can aftermarket firms make them comfy and Honda Cant??

Unfortunately I think this seat only fits the ‘14-‘16 OG Groms 😭 But double check the Saddlemen site to see if they offer one for the newer generation Groms!
