Thamks for this video. I transitioned to a sys ad role and here it's like 1 female out of 20 ratio. I'm glad there's a girl trch sharing knowledge on YT. New sub here!
You're very welcome! Wow that's a nice transition! Good for you! Yes I agree with the ratio. I'm also the only female in our IT team. Hopefully more women will still pursue tech
Good tutorial east charmer . Every step explained clearly voice and good quality video. Thanks . I could refresh my knowledge of domain connection. Thanks again . Good work!
Beautiful contents, wish to see videos on Windows Server migration from 2012 to 2016/2019/2022 with details steps and procedure for the same, also wish to see videos on Windows Server troubleshooting, Active directory troubleshooting challenging and difficult scenario based videos.
Good tutorial. Please install VMWARE TOOLS to allow VMS to display their desktops in higher resolutions. The video captures are to small and centred due to low resolution of VMS.
I lol'd after the pause when you got the password wrong. Anyway, thanks for the informative material, its helping me gain knowledge to present in my upcoming Jr SysAdmin interview. Any resources you think I should follow leading up to this? Let me know if you have anything useful to share. Thank you ECharmer!
Oh lol, You're welcome! I'm glad it helped you! hhmm I don't know any other resources out there but you can look into the following concepts and try to make a homelab: AD Certificate Services, AD Federation Services, Replication and Sites, Deploying Windows Updates
Cool thanks! Ran into one hiccup with my setup (Windows server on hyper-v, physical client) : got an error when trying to join the client to the domain; solved by setting the DNS address on the client to the IP of the Windows Server.
I followed the steps for this, and my administrator account also blocked access to the Control Panel. When I checked your video, there was no easter.local inside the control restrict policy, while mine had both user and bishal.local inside the policy restriction. Where did I go wrong?
I followed your video series verbatim but when I try to join the machine to the domain it gives me an error message that the domain can not be contacted. What can we do to troubleshoot the lab? It pings and shows the IP address perfectly but it keeps showing the servername as unknown
@@EastCharmer yes mam. everything is the same but no matter what I do it still wont accept it. I'm redoing your course for the 3rd time and its still not accepting it.
Please help, I followed your instructions to install windows server VM but for some reason It won't open settings app to set the DNS. The settings app opens and closes immediately when I click it.
Thank you for the help so far, but I am running into an issue when I attempt to edit the "Restrict Control Panel" option on the server side. I keep receiving "Failed to open the GPO. You might not have the appropriate rights." Do you know how I can fix this? None of the the other created GPOs have this issue.
For some reason I can't join my client to the domain, I am also not getting any response when I ping the server on my client machine. I made sure to use the servers IP address for the clients DNS server IP.
Great video, but I can't get the client to join the domain. I have the adapter in NAT for both machines like you do, but when I type the domain name, it says that it wasn't found. I followed the instructions from your video. Any help?
Hi, for the homelabs, I don't really recommend using Win 11 at the moment because it requires atleast 64GB to install and that's a lot for a VM. For now, I recommend Win 10 coz it only requires 20GB

Hello you have created Disable USB access policy.. suppose i need to allow some users to access pendrive then how we can give permission to access usb ... please let ne know
ok so you can create a security group to add users who needs access to USB devices. then edit the GPO for DIsable USB access. go to Delegation tab, add the SG (allow USB) and set permissions to deny. then create a new GPO to allow USB devices and link the new GPO

Cool thanks! Ran into one hiccup with my setup (Windows server on hyper-v, physical client) : got an error when trying to join the client to the domain; solved by setting the DNS address on the client to the IP of the Windows Server.
Yes!! That's why you set up the DNS of the server to point to itself so you can use the windows server as the dns server for the client. Goodjob!!!
I followed the steps for this, and my administrator account also blocked access to the Control Panel. When I checked your video, there was no easter.local inside the control restrict policy, while mine had both user and bishal.local inside the policy restriction. Where did I go wrong?
You have to move the policy to the OU where you apply it and remove from under your domain name
