Initially a Cadillac song, the Channels did an excellent rendition as well as Earl Lewis hitting unbelievably high notes ! Even Jimmy Gallagher, lead singer of the Passions, took a stab at it !
Actually the song was originally done by the Mills Brothers in 1948. The Cadillacs' version and many subsequent covers were a simplification of the original pre-doowop arrangement.

Given the lyrics, it would make more sense for them to sing the women's equivalent of Gloria: "Lover Boy" recorded by The Gailtones. More interesting, too.
doo wop is a sound of it's own . and the group did a fantastic job one of my favorite groups PLEASE DO MORE
