In defence of lightborn It's funny to see a swf change to flashlights last second and you change to lightborn Swf will DC sometimes I didn't expect this to be the top comment lol
Yeah, they need to change Lightborn back to pre-4.1.0, where it greatly improves resistance and recovery from flashes, but it's still technically possible to blind killers (although pretty difficult)
Thank you. They should pin this comment. BTW, you missed The Twins 2:31, Skull Merchant 4:27, Pyramid Head 5:29, The Dredge 6:12, Doctor 12:35, Wesker 15:00, Cannibal 16:00, The Hag 17:30, Ghostface 18:46
“Don’t run lightborn, it’s genuinely hurting you” you clearly don’t know the amount of survivors I’ll find who will just watch me stare into the flashlight as I run at them, and not realise I have lightborn
i always thought lightborn makes you bad by not learning how to counter flashlights until i climb up the ranks and realize that it isn't just about flashlights.
If you pair it with starstruck and fake hiding from the blind and then pretending to forget to face away when near a hook you can get some incredible value out of both
Also, Franklin’s is actually good. I know many people that prefer to hold off on using toolbox to speed up 3 Gens or the mid game. Flashlights are not “easy to counter” because coordinated survivors get to decide where you have to pick them up, forcing you to be blinded or potentially lose the down trying to harassing the flashlights. Background player furthers this problem, allowing even uncoordinated survivors to dash right across the map and clutch it due to the easier blinding time window nowadays I kinda think Kyto is just trying to convince killers to let them get blinded by dissing Lightborn (which *is* a bad perk, but is useful when you don’t have franklins to counter flashlights)
@@CrazedKasaJizo I absolutely agree with you. Also, don't forget that Kyto tends to operate from a very pro-survivor perspective so a **lot** of these recommendations and rankings seem to be from that direction. Watching through the video and seeing the gross lack of some pretty obvious perk combos just further demonstrates this. I mean, the dude didn't even mention Rancor+Game Afoot. Take this list with a grain of salt if you've got more than 200 hours in.
I guess Kyto can be a bit forgetful, but Terminus isn't useless if no-one is injured when the gates are powered, the Broken effect is always applied as long as the gates are unopened.
The second you do, the rest of then will see that you have Terminus because their teammate became broken, and will go out of their way to open the exit gates to get rid of it. The perk does nothing unless you run Blood Warden with it.
@spencerwasson5877 If just one person gets broken from the perk, I call that value. Even then, when exit gates are open that's 30 seconds long enough to get a down, even without blood warden you can still get a lot of pressure with the exit gates being open, even more when it's an uncoordinated team.
@@CoriandertheIridescent Even if you do get the down, there will never be a game where NOED won't be more optimal over Terminus. While, indeed, 30 seconds isn't long enough to lose the killer and get a heal off at the exit gate, which is what Terminus was designed to prevent, getting the down on the injured guy already being chased won't be purely because of Terminus. Also, Unlike NOED, Terminus won't deter the other healthy survivors from being able to take protection hits to get him off the hook and escape anyway. Everything Terminus can do, NOED can do better. The broken status effect does nothing but compel the survivors to open the gates and escape sooner, while NOED compells our rather altruisitc survivors to take a chance at cleansing the totem, which *might* result in an additonal unearned kill. The only way I see Terminus being optimal is paired with No Way Out on an M2 killer like Nurse or Huntress. Even so, you dedicate two perk slots to the endgame and you need to invest time in making sure everyone is injured just before the last gen finishes.
Lightborn is actually pretty good. I decided to make it a permanent part of my Wesker's build for the memes, since Wesker wears glasses and shouldn't be able to get blinded with light. But I found it to be quite a good perk. The only gimmick is that you really need to pretend like you don't have it for as long as possible, from my experience, most survivors fall for it like mouses for traps. I had countless of situations where after a couple faked flashie dodges, I would look straight at the survivor's beam for multiple seconds and they would not understand what's going on, "he was scared before! he can be blinded! maybe the wrong angle? i'll get him next time". They die and should know better next time and yet they still try to blind me. If you pretend you don't have it and make it look like you're afraid of the flashies, the survivors will be very eager to go at you at every opportunity, basically giving you free hits. They will try to blind you while breaking pallets, not running away and utilizing the distance and giving you free hits. Overall, I consider it a good and fun perk, bringing one more way to mindgame the survivors. Obviously, it's dependent whether the survivors bring flashlights or not. That makes it situational. But if you see at least two flashies, it's worth picking it. And if you see four... This is where the fun begins.
@@silly_billy-e1i Buddy, I don't run it for evading flashlight saves. I run it because I find it suitable for Wesker. Because of that, when I play Wesker I see how easy it is to trick survivors into wasting their time by just pretending. If you make them believe you're scared of their flashy, they will try to blind you at every opportunity instead of utilizing the distance that for instance a pallet stun has granted them, and thus giving you easy hits. My own experience proves that survivors weirdly often just refuse to accept the Killer has LB in their loadout even though it's not difficult to spot - the beam never gets smaller despite the sound indicating the angle and such is correct. If they see you always look away, they still try and usually learn way too late. It's just fun to use that to your own advantage. What does it have to do with facing walls? I never said a thing about flashlight saves
Don’t run lightborn, it’s genuinely hurting you” listen, what is hurting me is when i pickup a survivor and get blinded by 3 people at the same time, im tired of that shit and i want them to feel the fear when their flashlights and flashbangs dont work :3
No one is feeling “fear” from lightborn, lmao. Disappointment, annoyance maybe. If you get blinded by three people at the same time then cheer up, no one on their team is doing gens. Lightborn is indeed a survivor perk.
😂😂😂Right Tho it's so annoying and I hate when it happens when you're on every one ass and down someone and then boom outta nowhere here comes back ground player comes into play boom 🤯💥 you blinded it's always to when you pressure n someone
@OneGodPlus so it wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for the fact there is legit several perks that are MEANT for flashlight saves. Plus I also just find flashlights insanely annoying. Like why do you feel the need to blind me at legit EVERY pallet just to get no distance-
@@Coffeecan1981 flashlight perks are easily countered, except for old background player (gladly it was nerfed). Players like to flashlight killers because it’s satisfying and players like to annoy each other (people have fun). More rational reason? It irritates and makes the player angry, therefore they play worse. Composed and cold hearted players have a higher winrate (plus it looks kinda badass when you are unfazed against little roaches trying to troll you)
4:12 While Yes, "Make Your Choice" is best used on High Mobility & Teleporting Killers; it also makes it Risky for Survs to Immediately Heal under the Hook because if the Killer comes back to the hook... they either Tunnel the Person off the Hook or Down the Person who saved them. Combine this with Sloppy Bucher or a Mangled Add-on and the person off Hook might Stay Injured, which could result in a Easier down later. Plus, since the Savior is insta-Downable, it forces them to play a bit more cautiously to Not give the killer an Extra hook, meaning they might Hide and/or Stay off Gens for a little bit. It really all depends on the Killer's Play style vs how Survs responses to it
Totally agree. "Make Your Choice" is not that good on most killers but you can get value out of it as @dDeckon mentioned. However, this is a perk which is basically "tailor made" for Hag mains. Just like "Save the best for last" gives you value on any killer but it's terrific on Demo. The snowball effect that MYC gives with Hag is scary as hell.
Calling Rapid Brutality Aliens best perks is straight up criminal considering it’s the only one that damages you HEAVILY and half the roster can’t use it. Ultimate weapon is one of the best tracking perks in the game requiring you to only open a locker and know where everyone is in your terror radius. The blindness isn’t useful but it’s not needed
@@Sato-jd2wq I play alot of killers that don’t gain bloodlust due to how often your power is used. The only killers that benefit from bloodlust are M1 killers. This is the only chance they really get to get downs because they lack other chase powers with few exceptions. Relying on bloodlust isn’t good and wastes time but sometimes you don’t have a choice. Bloodlust wouldn’t be needed but that’s map designs fault. Pig on Garden of Joy stands no chance
@@silly_billy-e1ithere’s certain situations where that is not possible, if you’re breaking a pallet there’s legit nothing you can do or even picking up a survivor
@@JinisBored you can use ur ears if ur blinded while breaking a pallet and face a wall/chase away survivors when ur picking up and a lot of survs are really desperate for flashlight saves so you can get a lot of pressure by chasing away nearby survivors
Have you considered making the items of 4 survivors useless? And playing them for fools by pretending you don't have it, resulting in easy hits? @@silly_billy-e1i
You won't make me change my lightborn. It has given me so many free downs thanks to its ability, i just break the pallet and they lose so much time trying to flash me until it's too late to realize you fucked up. Plus, the aura the clicky users give you it's also a plus.
To be fair, Lightborn is bad. It's kind of funny but it can actively work against you if the survivors aren't completely dumb. Once they realize they can't blind you they're just gonna sit on gens instead of wasting time going for saves. Franklins is really good though
@@Musanagi00 yeah, but it's not even an effective play style that it's countering, it's just an annoying one. A survivor hanging around to blind you is a survivor not doing a gen. Every second the objective is not actively being pushed is a good thing for the killer. Telling all the survivors "don't waste your time going for blinds, just make distance in chase and do gens" isn't very useful just because "heh heh, survivor can't use flashy"
I honestly love the Plague. She is aesthetically the best designed killer in the game, and I didn't realize until just now how strong all of her perks were. I usually just run corrupt intervention tbh.
2:02 "Remember me" is used to Delay the Exit gates either with "No Way Out" and/or in the End Game to try to get an extra kill. The 1 trade off with the perk is that the Obsession can NOT be the one to opening the Gate because they aren't affected; insure the 1 kill, and its a Long 3v1 Endgame. It's a Gimmick Insurance: No Way is better for the role, but its better used with it in a Comeback
@@KytoYTyeah man because everytime you down someone you will be near a wall to face right? Swfs definitely don't purposefully go down in the open so they can coordinate flashlight saves, and there is ALWAYS a way to counter a survivor with background player coming from out of nowhere right? Piss off.
@@KytoYT Right, cause spending half a gen to look around for a player in a 30 meter radius just to still get blinded cause he has been hiding in a locker next to you for 3 minutes waiting on that save really has something to do with skill.
Lightborn is amazing for newer players when you have a bully squad with 4 Flash lights all on coms bullying a new killer then that light imunity is amazing.
@@KytoYTthis whole comment negated itself. Counters are Easy. Perk = Immunity from all LIGHT. Not just flashlights. New killer is learning, uses this Perk, doesn't get bullied, unlocks better Perks, equips them, learns very easy Counter to flashlights, enters 4xswf with head on + flashbangs, requips lightborne, doesn't get bullied, normal lobby, unequips lightborne cause it's for just that reason. Not terrible since most arnt top 1% survivor pros...faking lightborne is great in public matches...you'll have survivors trying to blind you the entire game, and once they are alone, you Sprint full force into that flashlight and hit them.
15:36 Should've mentioned that Terminus is the best counter to Adrenaline which happens to be 2nd most used perk on survivor side. Had few matches now where Terminus blocked 3 adrenalines and turned 0-1k games into 3-4k games.
11:42 Lightborn is not "Bad", it's just "Situationally Good". Yes, Equipping it removes Altruistic Counter play on Surv side to save teammates; but in situations where the Killer downs a Surv in the middle of Nothing and has no way to pick up the Surv because of Flashlights, it creates a Lose-Lose Situation for the Killer, which feels terrible. If they Try to chase off the Flashlighter, there isn't any Guarantee that they can get an Injure or down from the Chase if the Flashlighter is far enough away or if they run to a Safe Structure; meanwhile, another Surv can come over and pick up the Down Surv{or Unbreakable} removing all pressure the Killer had. Also, the Aura reveal can be great with Tracking Survs that tried to blind you, and/or with Blastmine
That's why you play around flashlights, because in that case, survivors are gonna be altruistic and they will not work on gens, and even if you think that you are losing pressure, you are actually pressuring them, they will try to save someone, without thinking on the main objective
Totally no sense to spend a slot for a situational perk, there are many ways to counter flashlights, and also if you are against a good swf they'll comunicate that u have it and they'll just focus on gens, that is even worse than trying some flashlight saves.
Franklins is actually fantastic on certain killers bc you know damn well someone’s gonna be running back for them. Wether it’s a teammate or the person themself someone will go grab the item. Don’t full on camp the item. But I always mental note the area to go check on it and most of the time I see other survivors or themselves running back for their flashlights or medkits. I love this perk.
@@xx_parispride_xx356 Franklins is honestly underrated. Most of the time when you hit them they had no clue they even lost their items then there they go retracing their steps to see where it might be thus slowing the game. Also with those items on you’re likely to lose pressure on them since they can heal or flashlight save and taking away their items makes them having to find each other to heal themselves or no more flashlight saves thus slowing the game and increasing your chances to win 👍
@@olvinWTF exactly. Perfectly explained. The entire reason the perk is so good is because it wastes time on dumb survivors and you could possibly be getting rid of a game winning toolbox.
Sorry, but Lightborn stays in. It's my meme/comfort/accessibility perk that saves me from migraines until we get an option to turn the blind effect dark, but we're not counting on that any time soon. Also the best tool to counter bully squads and their love for torches and flashbangs. Nothing like pretendign you're just good at avoiding blinds most of the match only to eventually march right into their beam of light to whack them over the head. The aura reading is a nice bonus. I may also add that I main Wesker and Albert without his sunglasses isn't happening in this house. I rather do Lightborn only matches for funsies. Always delightful when you clear the room and your survivors have to accept that they were defeated by a pair of sunglasses that has a middle-aged dude attached to it. But that aside, a nice list. A little surprised to not hear Starstruck mentioned in combination with Awakened Awareness.
Franklins is so good. Only survivor mains will tell you it’s not, because it literally counters any item they have. No more flashlight saves, no more blinds on pallets, no more fast heals. Pair it with sloppy and nurses and it’s god tier, trust me.
it doesn’t counter any item they have automatically, you have to hit them. which introduces a bit of difficulty because you’ve been chasing survivor 1 for three minutes and you down them. yes, survivor 1 has no item, but that doesn’t stop survivor 2 from flashy saving them. and while you’re gone, survivor one goes and picks up his event medkit with 1 charge left and a syringe and heals himself. while this was going on, survivors 3&4 just finished 2 gens using maxed out toolboxes that you never knocked out of their hands.
@@BoomBamBopPOW Your argument only accounts for bad killers. If your decent, you’ll be hitting survivors regularly, thus no items in play. And if they do decide to go back for them, they are ether A. Wasting time or B. Coming back towards you, since they got hit there last. I use Franklin’s on ghostface and trust me, Survivors die going for their items and or very quickly give up on them after one or two attempts. It’s a legit and effective counter.
@@GhostelFaceMan my point was that to use it, you have to be an M1 killer who build better pressure by not spreading damage, but focusing on one survivor at a time. any names come to mind fitting that criteria ?
@@michellerahe4853 They only care and start doing something when they start thinking that their "monopoly" is endangered. So when some new game comes out that might take players away. They don't really care about community.
Came back from a years break, and im incredibly disappointed at how unchanged a lot of these perks are. Really annoying how nearly every gen regression perk has just become mediocre at best
You also forgot to mention that Ruin deactivates if you kill a survivor, so if someone quits by killing themselves on hook you lose Ruin. They absolutely destroyed Ruin.
In defense of lightborn: It is a huuuuuge counter to those survivors who have flashlights or flashbangs, prevents you from being blinded mid chase or while grabbing a survivor, and lets you mind game survivors if you pretend to avoid the flashlights. It's something of a safety net, sure, but a safety net is always useful no matter how skilled you are. Those matches where you can't do anything because survivors are a hive mind and amazing at stunning and blinding? Boom, their strategy loses at least 50% effectiveness if not more.
Aliens perks being “mediocre” is a quote that definitely didn’t age well, dude ultimate weapon is busted good it’s oh here’s everyone and also they get blindness for 30s. And rapid brutality is great for chase on basic atk killers.
OMG, I never knew that Make Your Choice’s scale was two hooks back to back! I always love the little and clever things that devs add to their games! 4:12
I have an Insanely overpowered niche way of using Coulrophobia. If you use Wesker with Coulrophobia, Distressing, Sloppy, and Unnerving Presence, and bring a Midwich offering, survivors cannot get out of your terror radius without being on the literal opposite side of the map. As Wesker, your moving all over the map so they can never be out of your terror radius for long. The only real counter to be able to heal against build that I've found has been Autodidact which is extremely underrated and not many people use it. 🧀
I think Pig is a bit too low since Surveillance is one of the best and reliable info perks, it works with most killers from all gen to 3 gen, even without perks like Jolt or Ruin. Works great with killers that can ignore walls, stealth killers and Knight. Got Knight few days ago and it works great with Nowhere To Hide, you kick gen you find out if anyone is hiding nearby, then you leave the place and you always know if someone is back on that gen. As a bonus you get very good sound info on 2 floor maps. Maybe im noob, but i use Surveillance very often
Franklins is a good perk since alot of survs want their items back and the flashlights getting depleted is really good because it let's you not have to worry about the flashlights towards the end of the game and youre at lower risk when you need to pickup in the middle of the open
He says he’s a killer main, but I call bullshit on that. He also claims that franklins demise is bad and that slugging is cringe. Sounds like something a survivor main who loves their flashlight would say.
@@Dr.Gaming98killer main here (although i play survivor sometimes too), slugging sucks, its a boring play style on killer and horrid to go against on survivor, youre allowed to do it, theres nothing stopping you, but it is annoying and by definition boring
@@lemonosis yes but there are times where it’s kind of required. Once I was going up against a team of three TTVs as Nemesis, and they were a sabo-squad who all had boil over and breakdown. I wasn’t able to get hooks for the longest time that match, and had to slug. I got all of the TTVs, but the non-TTV got away. I bled one of them out, sacrificed one, and mori’d another. And of course, at the end of the match, they start berating me for being a “lame-ahh killer” and calling me boring for slugging, just like you are now. I had no other option but to slug if I wanted to win. Sometimes it’s a necessity. Accept it.
@@Dr.Gaming98 im fully aware that slugging is necessary in some scenarios, sabo squads that cry about being slugged are losers since they literally brought a loadout where the only counter play is slugging, however in this video he brings up slugging in relation to the perk knockout, usually if youre bringing a slugging perk then you intend to slug wether or not they are a sabo squad. Also I did not call you boring for slugging, i called the play style itself boring (on both sides) as that is objectively true. when i load up dbd on survivor, im doing so because i plan on playing the game, lying on the ground and doing nothing is objectively boring and not what i wanted to do when i loaded up the game. When i load up dbd on killer, i plan on playing the game, not being forced to sit and camp on a corpse because the survivors bought all sabo toolboxes and i have no other option. Its boring on both sides, its a flawed mechanic in the game, sometimes it is necessary but that doesnt mean its fun
Legion actually no longer benefits from vault speed increases from perks like bamboozle while in frenzy. I believe the window block still works in frenzy, but if you’re just trying to chain hits it’s not going to be too useful
in all fairness they vault pretty fast in Frenzy already, so it would likely be a bit too hard to balance them if windows & pallets became hit traps for survivors
I understand that lightborn might feel like a wasted perk slot to some but considering most of my matches at this point consist of me downing somebody and 1 or 2 of their friends are following and hiding nearby for the flashlight save and my options are getting shafted by the save or spend even more time chasing them off and faking the pick up...i think ill stick with LB so i can just pick and carry on with the match lol
furtiv chase can be useful in certain builds, for example in a myers build: If you use furtiv chase with monitor and abuse and dead rabbit, you have no terrorradius at 4 tokens. And if you pair that with vaniy mirror and devour + undying, you have a scratched mirrir thombstone myers. And if you want to meake it extra scary, bring a mapoffering for a indoormap, its just so great, you could say its a lore accurate myers build. Give it a try, you wont regret it

1) Territorial Imperative can be very good on basement builds on killers like Pyramid, Hag, Trapper, Artist, Dredge or Huntress herself. 2) Lullaby can be good on build with merciless storm or such things. 3) Zanshin tactics can be very good if you know common tiles well and how to deal with them properly, also can be good to setup traps, and for "triangle" setup with no safe places around. 4) Rapid brutality can be good on killers like Clown who cannot use bloodlust, because with their abilities it constantly reset. 5) Ultimate weapon just one of the best perk for searching survs and only Calm Spirit can counter that. So Xenomorph definitely cant be placed #22. 6) Freddy's Blood Warden and Remember me both are excellent perks for endgame builds. You can even get guaranteed Blood warden by opening gates himself and hook dying state survivor on nearest hook with Freddys addon, the Knight addon etc. and even without that normal people usually just cant leave unlucky teammate who heal them whole game etc so Blood Warden setup guaranteed in almost every endgame situation because altruistic nature.
hello, i just wanted to let the people know about that perk got nerfed 11:12 you will lose now your tokens if the obsession gets injured in anyway. that means you can't use any power like the demogorgon's power or the huntres's axes. like i told you will lose your two stacks if the obsession gets injured in anyway. at the 18:52 that perk got changed, if you hook your obsession you will get 5% haste and your teroradious will be hiden, the both are just for 18 seconds.
forgot to mention that mad grit also removes the cooldown for missed m1's while carrying which is rlly the only reason ppl use that perk like when paired with agitation/starstruck/awakened awareness. def buffs the perk/legions spot a little more imo
28:37 "Coulrophobia" is a Perk that's good when other Factors are in play. Such as with Doctor's Madness Tier 2; or Unnerving Presence, or even in Indoor maps. By itself, it's Easy to play around; however, if you{Surv} can't get out of range or if the Killer goes in & out of range for the perk, it can be very annoying to deal with. Also, the Perk affects Survs trying to pick up other Survs off the Ground; which in a Slugging situation, could result in 2 Downs instead of a save.
I actually run lightborn on my doctor build Sure it takes up a slot but you'd be surprised how fricking powerful and reliable it has been A perk which basically nullifies a entire mechanic of the game that most survivors would usually try to abuse I can't tell you how satisfying it is to staredown a survivor foolishly trying to blind me instead of running before introducing them to their consequence
@kazoopenguin7389 it's a possibility But also run that perk that increases your terror radius and you've automatically made the area of effect ability better Who needs stealth when I actively steal the ability to stealth from the survivors grasp?
Every single time I take off lightborn, I'm unable to get a single hook stage and I get teabagged. Yet every time I use it, I can get at least 1 hook stage. Ergo, Lightborn is a good perk for me. I will be convinced by none of this Lightborn bigotry.
I'm gonna argue for lightborn here, cause I use it if it's against a SWF cause trust me, they are not smart enough to communicate it. I've had bully squads try and use flashlights for a solid 4 minutes only for them to realize it failed. Stop hating on lightborn.
i’m sure the perk will be nerfed when it gets added but ultimate weapon is one of (if not THE) best info perks in the game. if it stays the same as it was in ptb its genuinely one of the best perks in general imo so i think that should bring xeno up a bit higher
Mad grit also makes it so missed attacks have no cooldown. It is good for if survivors try to stop you from hooking, because baited swings mean nothing.
Lightborn is good when you haven’t quite gotten good at avoiding flashlights and flash bangs it has no downside and if you think you might be going against a bully squad run it it’s not as bad as Kyto said
I was shocked to see Legion so high up, I’ve been told that his perks are bad for “good” players lmao, I still run Mad Grit to bully bully squads though lmao
Honestly I like lightborne for accessibility reasons. My eyes are extra sensitive to bright light (even on not super sunny days I usually need sunglasses) and there's no way to change how being flashlighted works. I'd genuinely rather my screen just turn off during a blind than deal with the actual eye pain I get from being spam flashlighted for an entire match.
I agree with this, although my eyes aren't that sensitive bright lights in games started to hurt my eyes slowly over time (probably from excessive flashbangs in cod/battlefield) so using lightborn helps with it on my end. It's also fun to see at least 2 people with flashlights and putting it on to deny saves. Finally, I got fed up with the flashlights so I P1ed my billy and now we're here. (I literally dropped everything I was leveling up just to do that out of spite) As a sidenote when I play survivor, I usually run a brown medkit or toolbox (or even a broken key for fun) because I dislike flashlights that much.
@@zombie2982 I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed that I need to dedicate an entire perk slot just for something that I feel should be an accessibility thing. @@0MidnighttheDragon0 I feel you there, although I'm not a new player I know it's daunting at times. Besides the point, I made a point to a friend the other day about nerfing flashlights. How it should take longer to blind a killer if they don't have visible eyes like Pyramid Head or Demogorgon. After a bit of debate we swapped topics but that's what I think with my 2¢. Thoughts? Also if you're interested in it I could give you tips for killer if you have discord or something like that. :)
@@zombie2982 the old ranked system? I don't know much about that Also, I'm not sure if I plan to continue playing the game honestly. Been chipping at it here and there casually for the past year or so..but about a month back I randomly lost basically all of my killers/survivors that weren't base game (and I didn't know) Apparently behavior randomly changed their policy so I can't use the dlcs of people I steam share with (which I didn't even know I was doing? I don't think I'm even sharing with anyone who played dbd), so I just lost all of those characters. Aaand the main killers I had invested in/played (pig/doctor) are now gone. Supposedly the progress is still there I just gotta get the killers back. But with how it shards are handed out like WW2 rations... I at least kept the perks from when I prestieged but the characters themselves (and therefore my experience on them, add ons, and offerings ) are locked away And I only got compensated...400k blood points. For losing the progress of multiple full prestieges and a ton of characters to 15 for 4 perk slots and this isn't even touching survivors I lost. And the compensation wasn't even for that. It was for 'the time it took to get back to me ' Still up for chatting more over discord but idk if I plan to keep the game. The exchange left a bad taste in my mouth
Well, imo Rapid Brutality and Ultimate Weapon are both extremely decent, because in my experience, if i am starting to gain bloodlust - that means i am already overextending the chase, and at this moment it's already better to just leave and spook the survivors off the generator. So for me it's better to get the value right in chase than have the bloodlust which serves me as a marker that the chase is already overextended

Now that Furtive Chase has been buffed to give you undetectable AND haste, it's one of my favorite perks to run on Clown. I use his yellow bottles and the Furtive Chase haste to rocket around the map and surprise people on gens. I pair this perk with Thrilling Tremors, another one of Ghost Face's perks, so that I know what gens are being worked on, which helps me rocket towards them and catch survivors off guard. I'm All Ears is also an amazing perk for Deathslinger (coming from a Deathslinger main) since it allows you line up shots before you get line of sight on the survivor you're chasing, making it much harder for Survivors to play around corners. Ghost Face has some of my favorite perks, especially due to Furtive Chase being buffed.

Plus, you can pair it w/ perks like Coulrophobia, Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain, Septic Touch, Sloppy Butcher, Thanatophobia, Forced Penance, etc to get more value from it.
6:27 Darkness Revealed might be one of the best aura perks for killers imo. I like how you can use it whenever you want (on a 30s CD), unlike the other aura perks which require specific circumstances.
I must admit when I first started playing killers, I always used Lightborn if opponents had flashlights, like for me when I was learning it was just easier. I hardly use it anymore now, as I have perk combos that I prefer using. It’s a good perk to use if you’re still learning killer, but after so long I recommend trying not to use it as much because you’ll become too reliant on it to the point where you always need it for flashlights etc.
6:20 what's funny is that dredge is not one of those killers. As Dredge, I like leaving pallets up so that survivors are forced to commit to the movement instead of being able to instantly turn around, and with the remnant that becomes an anti-loop that can only be avoided when I miss

“Don’t run lightborn, it’s genuinely hurting you” you clearly don’t know the amount of survivors I’ll find who will just watch me stare into the flashlight as I run at them, and not realise I have lightborn
Yeah I lost all respect for kyto because of this.
Does it make you immune to flashlight? Because that explains a game i had today...
@@adamklevvall6180 makes you immune to all blinding. Flashlights, firecrackers, flashbangs, trapped generators, all of it.
i always thought lightborn makes you bad by not learning how to counter flashlights until i climb up the ranks and realize that it isn't just about flashlights.
If you pair it with starstruck and fake hiding from the blind and then pretending to forget to face away when near a hook you can get some incredible value out of both
In defense of franklins, many survivors hate to see their purple beam or medkit go, so its a semi slowdown perk if they try to look for it
Ngl franklins on trapper is kinda cheesy, cuz they just place traps in your item 💀
Background player furthers this problem, allowing even uncoordinated survivors to dash right across the map and clutch it due to the easier blinding time window nowadays
I kinda think Kyto is just trying to convince killers to let them get blinded by dissing Lightborn (which *is* a bad perk, but is useful when you don’t have franklins to counter flashlights)
@@CrazedKasaJizo I absolutely agree with you. Also, don't forget that Kyto tends to operate from a very pro-survivor perspective so a **lot** of these recommendations and rankings seem to be from that direction.

@@blackgames3983 yes he does, blood warden is a pretty bad perk, yes its sattisfying when you pull it off, doesnt make it good though?
He just hates the perk survivors often do
I guess Kyto can be a bit forgetful, but Terminus isn't useless if no-one is injured when the gates are powered, the Broken effect is always applied as long as the gates are unopened.

"Lightborn is a bad perk! Take it off!"
"No."
Yes
When you see 4 flashies it's time to switch to build 3: lightborn, infectious fright, and Forced hesitation

@@silly_billy-e1i we just said we use it for funny reasons, why you gotta put it like that
@@silly_billy-e1i Buddy, I don't run it for evading flashlight saves.

If they Try to chase off the Flashlighter, there isn't any Guarantee that they can get an Injure or down from the Chase if the Flashlighter is far enough away or if they run to a Safe Structure; meanwhile, another Surv can come over and pick up the Down Surv{or Unbreakable} removing all pressure the Killer had. it doesn’t counter any item they have automatically, you have to hit them. which introduces a bit of difficulty because you’ve been chasing survivor 1 for three minutes and you down them. yes, survivor 1 has no item, but that doesn’t stop survivor 2 from flashy saving them. and while you’re gone, survivor one goes and picks up his event medkit with 1 charge left and a syringe and heals himself. while this was going on, survivors 3&4 just finished 2 gens using maxed out toolboxes that you never knocked out of their hands.

I believe the window block still works in frenzy, but if you’re just trying to chain hits it’s not going to be too useful
in all fairness they vault pretty fast in Frenzy already, so it would likely be a bit too hard to balance them if windows & pallets became hit traps for survivors

especially if u pretend u dont have it, they waste so much time trying to get them
It's the perfect fuck you perk to bully squads

furtiv chase can be useful in certain builds, for example in a myers build: If you use furtiv chase with monitor and abuse and dead rabbit, you have no terrorradius at 4 tokens. And if you pair that with vaniy mirror and devour + undying, you have a scratched mirrir thombstone myers. And if you want to meake it extra scary, bring a mapoffering for a indoormap, its just so great, you could say its a lore accurate myers build. Give it a try, you wont regret it
Monitor and furtive work against each other don’t they?
in chase, yes, but since you dan instadwon wit hdevour, it doesnt matter adn becasue you can ambush without a terrorradius and aura reading, there isnt really any negative effect@@incendium447
@@incendium447I believe they work together, actually
🧀 I guessed Cenobite right before he was picked for #1! Great video Kyto! Now I know who to level up first because of this!
It's actually part of a funny TR build for Wesker
I actually run lightborn on my doctor build
Sure it takes up a slot but you'd be surprised how fricking powerful and reliable it has been
A perk which basically nullifies a entire mechanic of the game that most survivors would usually try to abuse
I can't tell you how satisfying it is to staredown a survivor foolishly trying to blind me instead of running before introducing them to their consequence
Kyto is just mad he can't blind you ;)
@kazoopenguin7389 it's a possibility

i’m sure the perk will be nerfed when it gets added but ultimate weapon is one of (if not THE) best info perks in the game. if it stays the same as it was in ptb its genuinely one of the best perks in general imo so i think that should bring xeno up a bit higher

Mad grit also makes it so missed attacks have no cooldown. It is good for if survivors try to stop you from hooking, because baited swings mean nothing.

(I literally dropped everything I was leveling up just to do that out of spite)
As a sidenote when I play survivor, I usually run a brown medkit or toolbox (or even a broken key for fun) because I dislike flashlights that much.
@@zombie2982 I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed that I need to dedicate an entire perk slot just for something that I feel should be an accessibility thing. I've actively gotten tilted and just given up on matches purely because the game put me, a new player, against like 3 p30+es and a p100 that are flashlight bullying me while I can do literally nothing
@@0MidnighttheDragon0 I feel you there, although I'm not a new player I know it's daunting at times. Usually when I go into a match I average a hook at best and if I'm playing Nemesis I weirdly pop off getting 4ks. This is partially the reason I hope Behavior brings back the old rank system where you know what the survivors/killer is. I still don't know why they removed it and replaced it with hidden mmr.
I don't know much about that
Also, I'm not sure if I plan to continue playing the game honestly. Been chipping at it here and there casually for the past year or so..but about a month back I randomly lost basically all of my killers/survivors that weren't base game (and I didn't know)
Apparently behavior randomly changed their policy so I can't use the dlcs of people I steam share with (which I didn't even know I was doing? I don't think I'm even sharing with anyone who played dbd), so I just lost all of those characters. Aaand the main killers I had invested in/played (pig/doctor) are now gone.
Supposedly the progress is still there I just gotta get the killers back. But with how it shards are handed out like WW2 rations...
I at least kept the perks from when I prestieged but the characters themselves (and therefore my experience on them, add ons, and offerings ) are locked away
And I only got compensated...400k blood points. For losing the progress of multiple full prestieges and a ton of characters to 15 for 4 perk slots and this isn't even touching survivors I lost. And the compensation wasn't even for that. It was for 'the time it took to get back to me '
Still up for chatting more over discord but idk if I plan to keep the game.
So for me it's better to get the value right in chase than have the bloodlust which serves me as a marker that the chase is already overextended
hangmans trick is good for knowing when survivors are in the basement because basement hooks are always scourge hooks if you have the said scourge hook equipped
Insanely useful knowledge once again. Love you kyto ❤️ 🧀
“Lightborn is making you a worse player”
Me who’s at iridescent rank 1 killer every season so far, constantly getting 4-kill games, and uses lightborn: “interesting”
Edit: you lost all credibility the second you said slugging is cringe. Slugging is a necessity sometimes, mainly with sabo-squads. Hoarder is actually really good on Pig. On certain maps it'll actually space out the boxes even more
Now that Furtive Chase has been buffed to give you undetectable AND haste, it's one of my favorite perks to run on Clown.
