Once a week sounds like a great idea! I love the variety of your books, I definitely enjoy reading cold/wintery books this time of year! But I don't force myself if something sounds better as I am the same, I like planning but I am also a mood reader too! 😊
I would love to see a video where you annotate Anne. I know that book well, so I’ll be better able to focus on the annotating rather than the story. No preference on type or style of annotation.
Would love to see how you Annotate, what you use and what you annotate. Awesome. So 👀 forward to seeing this, especially in Anne of Green Gables. Blessings
I think that first full paragraph sentence in Anne is such a perfect intro to Rachel Lynn and Anne! What a tone to set for both their personalities! I cannot wait to read this book again and notice things like this throughout it! It will be my 2nd reread of the books. First read I was 13, 1st reread in my early 30s and now I’m reading again in my mid 40’s with my own teenage kids. I cannot wait to see how much I love it again and what I notice new!❤️
Love that you are focussing on slow and deep. I just noticed that the live show for Anne of Green Gables will be on my brother's birthday. I don't know why, but that seems fitting for some reason, lol. For one, it might mean I won't forget about it, lol. I am so looking forward to A Year Of Maud!
Im reading a Ladies Guide now. I love the gaslight elements along with the Nutcracker elements as well! It’s been a slower (but fully enjoyable) read for me but I think that is more about my own reading slump then the actual story.
A wonderful list! I will say that I highly recommend 'A Lady's Guide to Marvels and Misadventure' - it was a top read of 2024, and I think you'd love it.
"Pile of Possibilities"- I love that! May I steal that for myself?.... I feel like more books need maps. My goals are to read "Tiffany Girl" by Deeanne Gist (Disney Challenge Prompt), "The Blue Castle" by L.M. Montgomery (Literary Book Club box and fulfills the Beauty challenge from you. The book cover is stunning!), "One More River to Cross" by Jane Kirkpatrick, and "The Beautiful Pretender" by Melanie Dickerson (Katie's Fairytale challenge, and slowly working to finish series I have started)
A Lady's Guide❤ I enjoyed it and loved her mother, great side character! No set tbr for January, Anne and something for the reading challenge, should've waited to start my current book-The Spellshop, such a pretty cover!
Definitely reading ANNE OF GREEN GABLES for Year of Maud read-a-long. I probably won't finish my current reads, so those will flow into January: THE ANNOTATED CHRISTMAS CAROL (Dickens with Michael Patrick Hearn, ed), CHRISTMAS WITH ANNE AND OTHER HOLIDAY STORIES (Montgomery), & THE CHRISTMAS HEIRLOOM (Hunter, Witemeyer, Thomas & Wade). I also started listening to THE DAUGHTER OF SHERLOCK HOLMES (Goldberg). I'm hoping to get to another L. M. Montgomery book in January, too. A challenge for me, since I usually listen to audiobooks, but want to actually read more this year. I'm not a fast reader, so we'll see how it goes! 😊
For the Read Your Shelf challenge in January I’m reading Enchantee by Gita Trelease cover is so pretty and the Paris map in the book is just beautiful! “Love. Magic. Revolution.” I’m also reading from my kids bookshelf for the challenge A Wish in the Dark a Les Miserables retelling but takes place in a Thai inspired fantasy world❤️ I’ve been drooling over the cover for a while because it’s beautiful! Also I think Les Mis is one of the most beautiful musicals I’ve heard. Other then those I’ve some library books to be read. The Queens cook Tessa Afshar (I’ve loved all her historical Christian fiction💗❤️💗) The Underground Library Jennifer Ryan ( really enjoyed her Kitchen Front & Wedding Dress Circle) Salt to the Sea Rita Sepetys (was fascinated by her The Fountain of Silence & expect this book of hers to make me cry too) I find out what book we are reading for our library book club choice Thursday, currently reading The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. It’s a reread for me and I’m doing audio this time- the accent is fun) Gods Double Agent Bob Fu via audio Oh and book 31 of the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich🫣 I’m been reading them since my 17 year old was 3… and while I keep getting older this Plum girl does not and with every book I start relating more to her mom then her 😂😂 but the books make me chuckle.
Salt to the Sea is amazing, hope you love it! I'd never heard of Enchantee but just looked it up, I'm curious if it will be good, it sounds interesting!
Chantel, an incredibly good Christian Fiction fairy tale retelling is The Shadow of the Bear by Regina Doman. It is specifically Catholic, which I know you are not, but I don't think it would be anything that like, would stop you from reading it. It is a retelling of snow white and rose red as if it took place in modern new York City. Such a thrill! YA. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 😊
Love the intro and quote! I just got A Lady's Guide to Marvels and Misadventures for Christmas and I'm really looking forward it! It sounds like it's a mix of The Nutcracker and Around the World in 80 Days with a steampunk element (though I don't know the difference between steampunk and gaslight, so it might be the latter instead). It sounds like a lot of fun!
Hi Chantel I am still reading Assistant To The Villain - this is the only Kindle Book that I am reading until I finish the book. I only read one book at a time from start to finish. Enjoy your books that you will be reading Happy Reading ❤️🤗🙏☕️🔰📚📖🏘️❤️
Her books in this series have been more graphic than most Christian suspense books. The first book in the series was the creepiest book I've read in awhile, so they may not be your cup of tea.
These are my must-reads and hopefuls for January: Anne of Green Gables (duh) Beartown Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries The Storied Life of AJ Fikry A Place to Hang the Moon What if We Met in a Bookstore
For my beautiful book, I think I'm going to read Wisteria by Adalyn Grace. I love the cover of that book! Also, I'd volunteer for the Anne live show, but I'm moving next week and I don't know what the situation will be with noise with my roommates right now. If I know in time, I'll fill out the form and if you want me to join, you can just let me know. Probably won't know until the middle of January, though.

Please keep posting on TH-cam, as this is where we got to know you. Once a week is just fine with me.
I have no plans to leave! 😊
Your intro was lovely. Nice choices for your tbr. 😊
Thanks! 😊

Love Anne of Green Gables!
Chantel, your video intros are so lovely!
Aww, thanks Alma!
I really liked how you added the close-ups of those books! You have some great possibilities for the month.

You are so right about the first sentence fitting Rachel and Anne, what a great catch!
I thought Lady Susan was brilliant. Such an amazingly awful protagonist. 😂 Thanks for joining in with Epistolary January. Loved the intro.
Just finished it yesterday, I never had more fun hating a character! 🤪
You are my favorite place to go on booktube, but completely understand and love the slow/deep words of the year!
Love your words for 2025 and that you'll be slowing down in January. We all need to rest and reset sometimes.
I'm excited for my words for the year, they are just what is needed!
Happy new year 🥳

Your videos are so peaceful and relaxing. I love them.
Austen's "Lady Susan" is a HOOT! ~you will ❤ it. They also did a movie on it and it is equally great. 😍
Yay, great to hear!
Thanks for introducing Moriah Chavis, Amy Lynn Green, Cathy McCrumb.
I'll upload my January 2025 TBR soon. God bless you! ✝
A wonderful list! I will say that I highly recommend 'A Lady's Guide to Marvels and Misadventure' - it was a top read of 2024, and I think you'd love it.

Pile of Possibilities is not my own creation, quite a few people use it! I really need to pick a fairytale retelling!
I just finished ready Lady Susan by Jane Austen. Delightful. Thank you for the recommendation!!! I devoured it between plays of the football game.
Eek! I'm currently halfway through Nicholas Nickleby and am LOVING it! I hope you enjoy it as well.
Ooh, that's high praise!
I got it. It's on 28 January 2025 at 6pm (Canada), which translates to 7am on 29 January 2025 in HK. I'll see if I can manage the time.
A Lady's Guide❤ I enjoyed it and loved her mother, great side character! No set tbr for January, Anne and something for the reading challenge, should've waited to start my current book-The Spellshop, such a pretty cover!
Oh yay, I feel like the mother's in books are usually terrible so it's nice to hear that there's actually a good one!
Definitely reading ANNE OF GREEN GABLES for Year of Maud read-a-long. Oh and book 31 of the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich🫣 I’m been reading them since my 17 year old was 3… and while I keep getting older this Plum girl does not and with every book I start relating more to her mom then her 😂😂 but the books make me chuckle.

Such a good pile! 🥰 My for sure reads for Jan are Pearl In the Sand for Revive Book Club and The Frozen River, because I want to. 🤭
I have been waiting for a copy of The Frozen River from the library for a long time!
I love your intro! So many great books on your TBR!
Thanks! 😊
Truth Cursed sounded amazing to me too! I can't wait to read it.
Wahoo, hope we both love it!
@ChantelReadsAllDay me too. 🙂
Looking forward to Anne....I got Heart of the Sea when you mentioned it before and so I will be reading it. I am loving my fantasy right now
I hope we both enjoy Heart of the Sea!
@ChantelReadsAllDay I do too! I started it because I wanted to get a feel for it. So far so good!

That book sounds very interesting, I hope you are enjoying it!
@ - I really am - there is a second book that goes along with this one too - it’s a Sequel.
I gifted the Jessica Patch series to my mother in law and she already is reading book 3! She did say that she is enjoying book 3 the best so far.
Wow, she is cruising through them, seems like a great gift! 😊
@@ChantelReadsAllDay Yes, she is a fast reader!
The bulk of The Lines Between Us takes place in January.
I knew there was a reason I had it shelved for January but couldn't remember, thanks, Ashlea!
The Garden Girls: sounds good. Love mysteries and detective stories. Hope it is not too graphic or bloody.
Her books in this series have been more graphic than most Christian suspense books. The first book in the series was the creepiest book I've read in awhile, so they may not be your cup of tea.
I really enjoyed Lady's Guide!
Yay, glad to hear it!
Ladies guide is one of my top books of 2024.
Wahoo, I hope I enjoy it!
I enjoyed A Lady's Guide!
