    That's a really good result with the converter, I'm surprised how well the autofocus worked....

      Yeah mostly pretty good but to be honest I think you get as good results just by cropping

    Thanks for posting I have the same set up and have not tried it with the 1.4

    Thanks for showcasing that tripod + tilt head monstrosity. It was all I needed to see to keep me happy with my handholdable Canon R7+100-500.

      Haha yeah it does get in the way sometimes but it is pretty hard to get stable video footage without a tripod unfortunately

    Great shots! I love how you always walk away with multiple amazing images, gives you great variety to choose from :) when I go out personally i'm usually aiming for just 1 good photo, in which I rarely ever get more than 1 good shot anyway per session.
    I already own the 1.4x converter / 200-600mm w/ A7R IV, people say they have good results wide open at f9, but from my own tests I found the image quality gets so much sharper and higher quality at f11 regardless of the ISO increasing. I only use at f9 if I accidentally have left the converter on when conditions darken. But I now rely on the converter for certain scenarios, classic example is some of the bird hides in Gluepot S.A. the water source is really far away and the birds are small in the frame (camera says 17m) and without the converter you can tell I have cropped the image heaps, but with the converter it now looks like I was actually close to the bird and didn't crop much...

      I keep meaning to get to gluepot I see some pretty awesome photos from there

      @@FranciscusScheelings at least the converter will be handy at Gluepot ;) it depends what you are going for, multiple birds in the frame you don't need converter, but to frame up individual birds the converter is a huge advantage.
      Gluepot is great though, check the website before you go because they can close after floods, but for a remote area it's really safe and inviting, there is always a ranger on site, they make sure its 2WD accessible etc. Bird hides are really good for all sorts of parrots and honeyeaters. But many other birds like Robins, Wrens, quail-thrush etc. don't seem to come to the water so it's worth driving around looking for birds.

      @@KurtisPape good advice. The major thing that’s been stopping me was all the Melbourne lockdowns but hopefully later this year I’ll be able to get there!

      @@FranciscusScheelings 1 day I gotta get to Vic myself for the flame robin, pink robin etc. Here near Adelaide we did have a Rose Robin (female) show up but is just considered a rare winter migrant so sightings are very short lived and they show up in random locations.

    Thanks for the great video! I have been thinking about getting a similar setup to get a little more reach for my kit

      If you’re finding yourself coming up short I’d definitely consider it on the A1, not so much on something like the A7RIV though

    Hello and great day to Ya Franciscus,
    Do you think The Fuji X-T2 & X-Pro2, plus the X-H1 are all good enough for just starting out doing some semi professional work in many different areas of Photography? I love that 3rd sensor @ 24.3 megapixels... Plus I want all my Fuji Camera bodies made in JAPAN!!! Thanks for your time and energies, Great work as always...

      Hi mate, I have never used any Fuji camera gear so I can’t really comment on what it is like unfortunately

    Does anyone know the species that is displayed at 2:18? Such a wonderful little fellar. Great video btw! I've been looking into a 1.4 myself, this video gives food for thought

    I am pretty impressed with the video i can get out of my digiscoping set up Swarovski atx 115mm objective birdingscope paired via an adapter with my Sony A6300 aps-c camera and Samyang 35mm f2.8. Max focal length up to a stunning 3675mm…have a look😀👍

    I was wondering if you think the teleconverter would be a good combo on the A9

    • @FranciscusScheelings
      @FranciscusScheelings  ปีที่แล้ว

      it does work with the A9 but I have noticed slightly more image degradation with that combo.

    Great video - I liked the 1.4x tc with the 200-600 and the A7Riv very much so am unsurprised that the 1.4x tc works well with the A1. Have you tried it with the 2.0x tc yet?

    • @FranciscusScheelings
      @FranciscusScheelings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No haven’t tried the 2x as I don’t have one. Good that you like 1.4x with the A7RIV, I didn’t have great success with that combo.

    nice vid. 1 Ha huge reservesof esolution, so unless repro is going to be at a mega scale. think worth experimenting - switching tp APS-C format, to get 1.5X. also the CIZ feature - max apeture maintained, no TC IQ quality loss IBIS will have less work to do.
    what a beautiful country Oz is, really enjoyed my few visits to Mebourne(for work), nice to see your countryside.

    Thanks for doing this. Would have perhaps been useful to A/B some of the same shots without a TC but cropped, or using the APS-C mode in the A1? Also, difficult for us watching to get a real clue about the IQ in 1080p, but useful nonetheless, M

    Fine for video. Not good enough for stills. Any cheap Sony body with crop 4k would be better than A1 with tc.
