I applied for the sports event internship Spring 2017 and have a phone screening on Monday and this video helps in figuring out what the whole process is like! Thank you!
Just be yourself! They are looking for people who are easy to get along with! Make sure you showcase how organized you can be. In that position, you may be handling various sporting events at the same time, and they want to make sure you can stay on top of things.
This video is wonderful Ashley! I would love to see a video on resumes and cover letters related to Disney Professional internships. Can't wait to see more!
Working for Disney is the best! Everyone here is so nice, dedicated, hard working, and fun to be around! I would recommend Disney Internships to anyone! It's amazing experience working for this Fortune 500 company!
Hi I'm 11 years old you don't know me but in about 10 years when you go on a Disney ride think of me I'm the one who designed it or fixed it or had something done to it to make it better I'm going to be an imagineer
This was really helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Sometimes just knowing that someone came through the other side is enough to quell the anxiety. And you included good tips, too!
Well, I had planned on applying to the engineering professional internships, but I didn't realize when the deadline is and I missed it, so I'm officially screwed. I'll have to hope I can apply to a regular job there once I have some experience in the field and hope for the best. :/
Tadasherz it was for the event solutions internship in Lake Buena Vista :) it went really well! I think I have a second interview. Disney takes so long to get back, though haha
Ahhhhh! That's so exciting!! Keep me updated!!! Disney does take long sometimes on their application progress. Each roles is so different too. Sometimes they move fast, sometimes they move very slowly!
Hi, Thank you so much! This is so helpful! I am really into Creative writing and story development and I have been wanting to work for Disney my entire life. I looked on the Walt Disney Animation studio's website's intern opportunities, which I find exciting! There are quite a few internships that seem to fit me, because my major is Creative Writing for Entertainment. However, when I look on the dashboard website, I can not find any of them, even after I have filtered the search. Would you know how I could find the internships I am looking for? Thank You Much, Maria :)
Hi! I love your videos, thank you for doing PI videos! You're right, there are very few videos! I wanted to ask you if you had a source for a template of how you set up your resume and cover letter, or if you went to some kind of career lab at school. Or do you have any advice for either of those? Besides key words of course. :) Thanks so much!!
I didn't really use a template. I just made sure to fill up the page with as much words as possible. But make sure you cover both information from your past jobs and academic stuff as well. They want to see that you were able to do a lot in school on top of all your work. The sections of my resume in order were: Relative Work Experience, Education, Leadership Experience, Honors/Activities, and then Additional Skills. Make sure you have multiple people proof-read your resume!
Hi!! This video is so helpful and made me more excited and kind of nervous for my interview next week for a summer internship for their consumer products division. Are there any questions you remember that I can possibly prepare for? It would be very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you SO much for posting this video! I'm up in NYC so the Disney PIs I've been applying for are definitely a lot different, but to hear your experience applying is really helpful! I tried applying for a ton of DPIs for this Summer and wasn't offered anything, but I did apply for one last week for the Fall and just today moved up to phone screening! I'm super excited and, of course, nervous, so I'm doing as much prep as I can! Could you tell me any specific questions you were asked during that interview?
GOOD LUCK BIANCA!! You'll have to tell me how it goes!! Questions vary depending on the positions you apply for. They liked to ask me how I like to stay organized, what my favorite moto is, what experiences do I have in events, Why do I want to come back to Disney, etc!
This video is awesome, Ashley! I want to do a Professional Internship after my college program so, like you suggested, I've already started researching. Just wondering, would you ever consider sharing what your resume and cover letters looked like? I would love to have a visual example. If not, that's okay :)
I'm thinking about making a Cover Letter/ Resume video with tips and tricks. I just need to find time! haha. I don't know if I'll actually share what mine looked like since it has personal information on it! :)
Oh, I would never want you to share your personal info... I just figured it could be blacked out in editing or something lol. But a video on that would be super helpful too!
Congratulations!!! i actually looked at the applications last fall as well in hopes of being more prepared for the spring too! Do you mind posting your cover letter or a brief example of one? I have no idea where to start and I think that made a big difference in my spring applications. Also have you decided what you're going to do about housing?
Hey Whitney! I don't want to post my cover letters because they're more personal. But, I'm hoping to do a resume/cover letter video sometime soon! And I'm not living with Disney Housing, but I found an apartment nearby that I stay at!
+Tadasherz awesome, thanks! I'm hoping to do disney housing but I know it's limited; can you talk about how you found your place whenever you get some time?
Yeah, absolutely! And it was really nice because my roommate Molly was already down here so she was able to do some apartment hunting before I came down!
Do I am trying to apply to a position for Disney and it says that I should be fully available to work. Does that mean that I need to be full time employee to work there?
Hey! I was wondering if you could tell me the exact name of the internship you got? I’m a sports administration major and the internship you got sounds just what I was looking for !! This would be tons of help if you can respond I would greatly appreciate it, thanks !
thank you for all the helpful information! you're right, there isn't too much info on PIs or MIs. I was also wondering what your timeline for applying and hearing back was? Like when did you get an offer? I'm concerned with how late disney notifies people (many who are graduating in may) of offers since a lot of other companies let people now pretty early!
I applied late January. I heard back two weeks later about the phone screening. After the screening interview I didn't hear back until a month later (early March) for an interview with the department that I'm currently working for. After than interview it only took 3 days for them to accept me! So I heard back mid-March. But, I know some people hear back in May and have to start in June. It all really depends on the department! Feel free to ask me any questions if you need any help applying!
Hi! I loved your video! I'm hoping to apply to PI's sometime next year, because I will be graduating in May 2018, and I am currently a Communication major with a Recreation, Parks, and Tourism minor. I'm hoping to get involved in event planning, and I have some experience through organizations and I will be participating in a sports related internship this summer, but I was curious if they look at majors when applying for PI's since my major isn't really in event management, but that is what i'm leaning towards going into. Also I did the college program in spring 2016 as a merchandise cast member!
Hey Katelyn! I was a Communication major with a minor in parks, recreation, and tourism too! And my main career focus is events. So you should be good! Communication is a vital part of any event planning career!
Oh okay, great!! This made me feel so much better!! I started reading into the preferred qualifications on the apps that are out now, and I just got nervous about applying, even though I don't need to for another year, but hearing that made me feel so much better!! Thanks so much!!
Hi, I was wondering if you have met any Canadian DPIs. I am interested in the program but I can't pass the computer screening because I don't have authorization to work in the US. I know this is required but Canadians can work other US internships by getting Visas didn't know if there is a work around. Many Thanks
So I applied to both parks for my professional interview, but I only got on screening interview. I got another email that basically said the didn't want me lol
Great video! I have a couple quick and basic questions for you: 1. Does the Disney CP let you pick your job and/or courses, or do you just apply to the school at large and go where they place you? 2. Does the Disney PI have a set length? For instance, can you do one for only a summer? 3. Do you feel like there's a high correlation between doing the CP and getting accepted for a PI, or is the CP just an awesome, fun, independent experience? Thanks!!
Hi there! 1. When you apply, you select which jobs you are interested in. There are multiple, and I highly recommend to put "highly interested" for many of them . Then, if you get an interview... that's when you should tell them your top 3 roles. As for classes, you can pick your own classes. However, they are on a first come, first served basis. So make sure you are on the site as soon as the classes open up. 2. Each PI is different. Some are for 6 months, some are for a year, and some are for a summer. When you apply, each role will tell you. 3. I LOVED doing the CP first. I learned so much from it. I honestly don't think I would be as successful in my role if I didn't do a CP. All my friends have done a CP too that got PIs. It's great to put on your resume. However, there are a lot of PIs that never did a college program. But from my personal opinion and experience, I'm going to 100% recommend a PI to anyone.
Love this video!! it's so helpful!! I'm currently a CP looking to do a PI and I was wondering what the requirements were to apply or be eligible for a PI, for example, would you have to have graduated within a certain amount of months in order to apply or does that not matter? Thanks!
I know there are some PIs that are not graduated yet but have like 1 semester left. But most PIs have graduated. I'd recommend getting a lot of experience in the area that you want prior to applying because that is what the recruiters are looking for! If you have any questions just let me know!!! & Where's your CP at??
Okay so I've been super stressed about this with the ATS. So it will go NLIC if it doesn't get through the system? All of mine (4 accounting/finance internships) are in submission, and it would be a huge breath of relief if that was the case. Awesome video by the way :)
It usually does, Just give it time for a recruiter to open your application! Sometimes it takes a little while for your application to be in submission before it goes to In Progress, unlike the CP Process. Good Luck! Let me know if you have any questions!
Wahoo! Congrats! I hope I'm not too late at responding. But the screening interview generally asks questions about your personality and how your previous experiences fit into the different roles you applied for!
Hey! Thanks so much for making this video! You def have my dream PI - I'm a huge runDisney fan and loved participating in the marathon! Just wondering, what were your work hours like for this position? The work experience I have doesn't necessarily relate to this type of job, but I'm hoping for the best! Thanks again for helping me out :)
I worked Monday-Friday, 9-5:30! But during races I would be at the race site at 2am. I was a Public Relations major and did a lot of other roles in communication and marketing. It doesn't have to exactly match up or relate to the role!
Hi! I just passed my phone screen interview for a Disney Professional Internship. I was just wondering if your position when you did the internship was part-time or full-time. Thanks!
I've got two interviews already for the same position. The person who interviewed me said there might be a possible third interview with the manager. What's the possibility of that third call being a final offer?
I have always wanted to work at Disney and I tried applying many times but it never worked out. Is there a direct email that I can send to? I don't live in the US but I am willing to relocate. You brought all excitement to me, to try and apply all over again. Thanks :)
There isn't a direct email. But applying at DisneyCareers.com is the best way. I would recommend doing a College Program first because you can make lots of connections through networking!
Hello! I have a question you might be able to answer. So I got accepted to the DCP for Spring Advantage, even though I enjoy the opportunity, I believe Disney Professional Internship would be better for my career. Do you think it's easy to make the switch? or switch it when I get down there?
Hi Lucas!! Yes, definitely! The DCP helps a lot and is a great way to network with professionals in the company. Make sure you take advantage of every career opportunity/event that the DCP gives you and it will help make the switch to a PI that much easier!! The DCP is the BEST! What role did you get!??!
Hey thanks for responding! I got Lifeguarding, I will make sure to go to every class and seminar along with events. But do you think I can switch during my first DCP to PI?
Thanks so much for making this video! I'm graduating in Dec and want to try for an professional nternship in the spring. Do you know when those apps come out? I am also a DCP alum Fall 2016.
Spring Applications open around July/August. Yet, some PIs get posted year-round. So, I would always keep my eye on when they are going to drop! It's all on DIsneyCareers.com
Hey girl! I applied for a Professional Internship on April 4th, and my status is "under review". Does that mean that I'm in submission or in progress? How long did you wait between submitting your application and getting that initial screening? Where did you do your CP? Last semester, I was on Main Street East in Merch! :)
"Under Review" means that recruiters are looking at your application right now! So that's a really good sign! There's no more "iin progress" now, it's more of NLIC/submission/Under Review/offer now. So no worries! And I waited about two weeks before my initial screening! I did my College Program at the Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom! I LOVED IT!
Every internship is different! I had my interview on a Thursday and heard back on a Monday! While others might have to wait a little while longer. Good Luck on your interview!!!
Hey there, just wanted to know if the professional internships are only for people who have experience as a store/park cast member or if anyone can apply! The posting I wanted to apply for was kind of confusing about that "requirement"
Hi There! It depends. There are "Alumni Only" PIs, in which you do need to have done a Disney College Program prior to applying for that position. However, a majority of the roles you do not have to already have experience working for Disney. However, I do strongly recommend the Disney College Program because it was the best experience of my life, and I'm so thankful to have had that opportunity!
Hi! I am from Chile, thank u so much for the tips, I wanna apply for a marketing intership like as u did. A question, do u know if I need to have an advanced english to apply? i mean my english is not bad but I dont know if it is enough for the internship. I forgot to mention that I already got my bachelor degree in businnes and management here in Chile, I dont know if they need you to get this to apply, if u can help me it would be very helpfull, once again thanks so much for your help, Greetings!
Knowing English is definitely a preferred requirement, but some roles may actually like other people from different countries. Have you considered doing Disney's International Program? It's similar to the DCP, but for those who do not live in this country that can get an internship at Disney World.
I didn´t know about Disney´s international Program, I am gonna look for more information. I would like to work in the marketing area of disney world, I got experience working on that in Chile so think that could be of great help, thanks again for the tips, hope you are having a good time in your internship!
I think it went pretty well! My experience fits the position perfectly, so I mainly talked about all my past work. Now it's just the worst part, waiting to hear back!
its for a Project manager PI position under the WDI (Imagineering) department. I just never really thought i could possibly be building the things people dream about.
No, you don't have to be. I know some of the other interns I worked with had never done a CP. But I still highly recommend the Disney College Program. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I am so thankful that I chose to do a CP first and to have that experience before I did a professional internship!
I always always always recommend a cover letter even when it's not required. For all the jobs that I've had, my leaders told me my cover letter is what helped me stand out.
I made an error on my resume and now I feel so bummed out because I am afraid the error may be why I do not get the internship. What should I do? :( I am literally crying right now.
You can go back in an edit your resume. Just go to your profile. Click on resumes and edit it from there! That's what I did for one of my roles! :) Good Luck!
i let them know and they said it was fine and let the recruiters know i fixed my resume. I hope I get one of the 3 that I applied for and if not Ill try applying for summer internships :)
can you apply for a PI and a CP at the same time? i just applied for my second CP but i want to apply for a PI because i graduate in may but i dont want the applications to like cancel each other out...
YES! That's what I did. I applied for another CP and a few PIs. I actually got accepted for my PI before I got accepted for my second CP, so all I had to do was to decline my second CP offer. But if you get accepted to a CP first and then get a PI, you can totally take the PI over the CP!
I applied for a Writer Internship with Disney Institute and the day after I submitted my dashboard changed to "Under submission" do you know what that means?
It was in progress for a while. PIs move very slowly, and each position is completely different from the next in terms of how fast or slow the application/interview progress is!
Hi How can I apply for this internship..? I'm from India , persuing with MBA in finance and Marketing.. I want to ask is their any other formalities to apply intership for international students..? Please help
Heya! Awesome video! I graduate in a month and I'm hoping to intern with Disney, as I only did three years of college instead of 4 because of credits. Although, with a lack of financial aid now coming in, I'm curious what your pay was with Disney?
I applied for the sports event internship Spring 2017 and have a phone screening on Monday and this video helps in figuring out what the whole process is like! Thank you!
Ahhhh! Good Luck! Let me know how it goes!! I've extended into the Spring for my position, so I'll be with Disney Sports!
+Tadasherz made it to the next phone interview! It's on Friday! Any tips or insight? :)
Just be yourself! They are looking for people who are easy to get along with! Make sure you showcase how organized you can be. In that position, you may be handling various sporting events at the same time, and they want to make sure you can stay on top of things.
Oh, and GOOD LUCK! Keep me updated!
This video is wonderful Ashley! I would love to see a video on resumes and cover letters related to Disney Professional internships. Can't wait to see more!
Thanks so much Maddie!!! I'm thinking of filming a resume/cover letter video really soon!
Yes please do a video on resumes and cover letters cause that would help a lot of people including me!! Love your videos girl!
I definitely will! Thanks so much for watching my videos!!
+Tadasherz no problem girl they're great!!
Thank you so much for making this video! I just got an internship and these tips helped me!!! Hope to apply to Disney next year :)
This was super helpful! I'm doing the DCP in the Spring and hope to do a professional internship afterwards.
Awesome!!!! What role did you get with the DCP?! It is such a great experience and I'm so glad I did it before a PI!
I got QSFB! Not too excited about it, but I'll take what I can get for Disney haha.
This was so helpful! Hopefully I can remember my PERNER from my CP before I apply next month!
Good Luck! Let me know if you have any questions!
Just found this, it was so helpful! There aren't many PI information videos out there. So thank you!
Thanks so much! Good Luck applying!! :)
I watched your video a while back before applying and ended up getting 2 different PI's, thanks for sharing your experience!
Loved this video! I've heard so many great things about Disney internships!
Working for Disney is the best! Everyone here is so nice, dedicated, hard working, and fun to be around! I would recommend Disney Internships to anyone! It's amazing experience working for this Fortune 500 company!
Ill see ya at the Wine and Dine Expo! Congrats, excited to watch your journey!

OMG THIS WAS SO HELPFUL!!! Thank you SO much for making this! 💖
No Problem! If you have any questions about the process I'd love to answer them!
This is so helpful! Thank you :) I have my phone screening on Tuesday. What are some specific questions that they ask so I can prepare?
Sorry, I might have responded too late! But, How did your phone screen go!! What role was it for?!?!
Tadasherz it was for the event solutions internship in Lake Buena Vista :) it went really well! I think I have a second interview. Disney takes so long to get back, though haha

Please please more videos on cover letters and tailoring your resume to Disney!!! I'm hoping to apply for a PI or MI in events or resort management!
I'm planning on doing a Cover Letter video! I just have to find time to do a sit down video! :)
Oh thank you so much!!! I'm currently studying hospitality management want to come back for a PI so I feel like you could give me some great insight!
Still in college but want to work with disney anime and im really scared

For the cover letter did you put the address of Disney on it? Or did you just have the dear disney recruiter?
I put the address of the Casting Building on there at the very top, then I wrote "Dear Disney Recruiter."
Okay so I've been super stressed about this with the ATS. So it will go NLIC if it doesn't get through the system? All of mine (4 accounting/finance internships) are in submission, and it would be a huge breath of relief if that was the case. Awesome video by the way :)

Hi, this vid isn't super recent, but I have a screening for a PI this Friday! I'm wondering what sort of questions I should expect for this. Thanks :)
Wahoo! Congrats! I hope I'm not too late at responding. But the screening interview generally asks questions about your personality and how your previous experiences fit into the different roles you applied for!
Thank you for this!! Quick question, are professional internships strictly in Flordia? Or do they offer them in California as well?
No! There are PIs in Florida, California, New York, North Carolina, etc!! They're literally all over!
Hi! Do you know if internationals can apply for professional internships? Thanks!
Hi! I was wonder what type of work experience you had before applying to your PIs other than the College Program?
After my college program and before my PI, I had worked with an NHL Hockey team, A Convention Center, The Senior Games, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Hello I'm from india, can i also apply for this program?
Hi! I just passed my phone screen interview for a Disney Professional Internship. I was just wondering if your position when you did the internship was part-time or full-time. Thanks!
Ahhhh so exciting! It was Full-Time! And Best of luck to you! Let me know if you have any questions about the process!
I've got two interviews already for the same position. The person who interviewed me said there might be a possible third interview with the manager. What's the possibility of that third call being a final offer?
moonrkr so...update?
During your DCP you can apply for PIs after they open up in January! If you get accepted you can totally switch!
I LOVED IT!
I have my phone screen interview on sunday my job starts in June do you think they will take super long to get back if its only two months away?
Hi! I have my phone screen today for Expo Operations! Any tips?
Ahhh I think I'm a little late! How do you think it went?
I think it went pretty well! My experience fits the position perfectly, so I mainly talked about all my past work. Now it's just the worst part, waiting to hear back!
Great video, keep up the good work.
Thanks so much Brian!
Do you have any connections to Pixar Animation Studios?
I don't here in Florida, but I know a few people who work in that area over in California!
I want to have a tour of PIXAR. How should I go about it? Can you help me out?
So it is good I got an email back... im a bit nervous about my phone interview...
What position is it for? And don't be! The phone interview really isn't that bad! Just be yourself and remember to really think through your answers!
its for a Project manager PI position under the WDI (Imagineering) department. I just never really thought i could possibly be building the things people dream about.
That's so awesome! I'm sure you'll do amazing! Keep me updated with how everything goes!!!
does a graduate from a community college count as a recent graduate for a PI?
Yes it counts!!
Do you have to be involved with the DCP to get one of these internships? I just graduated from UCF and am interested in a PI :)
No, you don't have to be. I know some of the other interns I worked with had never done a CP. But I still highly recommend the Disney College Program. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I am so thankful that I chose to do a CP first and to have that experience before I did a professional internship!
Do you recommend writing a cover letter for the professional internship even if it's not required?
I always always always recommend a cover letter even when it's not required. For all the jobs that I've had, my leaders told me my cover letter is what helped me stand out.
Tadasherz how did you address the cover letter?
I'm thinking about doing the apprenticeship program is that a good route to go ?
Disney has amazing programs and internships! I started out on the Disney College Program before doing a professional Internship!
Do we have to be a junior or senior to apply to the program?
You have to at least me a Junior. But most PIs are in their Senior Year or have graduated.
Tadasherz thanks! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm just a sophomore :/
can you apply for a PI and a CP at the same time? i just applied for my second CP but i want to apply for a PI because i graduate in may but i dont want the applications to like cancel each other out...
YES! That's what I did. I applied for another CP and a few PIs. I actually got accepted for my PI before I got accepted for my second CP, so all I had to do was to decline my second CP offer. But if you get accepted to a CP first and then get a PI, you can totally take the PI over the CP!
awesome thank you so much! i sent in my applications for two PIs today so we'll see what happens!
Ahhhhhh! Sending you all the pixie dust during this application period!! :)
I applied for a Writer Internship with Disney Institute and the day after I submitted my dashboard changed to "Under submission" do you know what that means?
It means that your application is under review, so that's good news! I know when I applied, mine said "Under Submission" for a while until it moved.
Hi lady!
How long was your app "in progress for"?
It was in progress for a while. PIs move very slowly, and each position is completely different from the next in terms of how fast or slow the application/interview progress is!
Hi
How can I apply for this internship..?
I'm from India , persuing with MBA in finance and Marketing..
I want to ask is their any other formalities to apply intership for international students..?
Please help
do you need a college degree to apply for the professional internships?
You have to at least be in college. You don't have to be graduated, but I know most PIs have just graduated when they get it.
SO HELP. MUCH ADVICE!!!!!
Yo go kiki.
love your videos btw :)
Heya! Awesome video! I graduate in a month and I'm hoping to intern with Disney, as I only did three years of college instead of 4 because of credits. Although, with a lack of financial aid now coming in, I'm curious what your pay was with Disney?
I live in India, would I be able to apply for Disney?
You can! Just apply at DisneyCareers.com
im planning on applying for the animal program internship.
Ahhh, that's so exciting!!! Keep me updated on your progress!
i decided that im going to apply this spring and summer instead. I waited because i wanted to return to college.
I have an interview next week yeeee
What are some of the general questions that are asked in the interviews?
Nice 👍
Too adorable! (:
Thanks!! :)
In submission 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
YAYAYAY! Good Luck! Let me know if you have any questions!! :)
Thank you! I found your video very helpful :)
