I want to give you some major flowers. I’ve played for 15 years but have only leaned to play by learning songs. No theory, no correct fingering, no structured practice. For whatever reason your videos got to me and I’ve been practicing first 8 videos in this playlist like it’s my first day for almost a week. The amount of musical freedom I’ve unlocked in a few days is mind blowing. A year from now I won’t even recognize myself. Thank you
Man to really build the basic technique correctly... it’s going to take me 6 months to really get solid on these first 7 lessons! But I’m believing God to give me the grace to be good enough to play for my church by next year.
Hey Warren. I've been struggling to learn piano theory by myself , but only by watching couple of your beginner videos, it started to make sense. I know this is an old video but still helping thousands of people including me. More power to your channel! like any other comments down here, you are a very solid teacher! God bless you and thank you for sharing your skills. Appreciate you bro!
This Angel of music giver has provided such an invaluable lesson as always. Explained and demonstrated very concisely. Just so love his tutorials. I'm a grade 3 self taught classical and still going but want to branch into jazz. It's good to know that I've started practicing my major, minor chords intuitively as Warren advised but the Sus chords I didn't realise are a simple move up or down with with your third position. And watching Warren plays gives great insight and inspires also. Thank you Warren - and such a good looking guy too.
Hello Mr warren.....I have made a decision to learn piano from the scratch....so m gonna put in all my effort even if my work takes all my time....I am gonna do it..and I know I will get there someday.....I know God's gonna help me
I don't play piano yet because I don't have one. Iv spent a lot of time doing !y home work.getting a real good understanding of most things do far and I'm really excited about it all
Brandon Musalia there's no one way to work on this. It all starts with asking your self, what role is each hand "playing" at each point during your playing/practicing. Some time you want your left hand to play a more "bass" role... this means playing less notes in the left. Other times you want to do more chord with the left, so the right is free to play runs and melody. Other time you want both hands to play full chords in a more accompanying role. Other times you want to create rhythmic interest between the hands - this is the hardest one and would require a few pages of writing plus video examples to go through. Anyways, the above are just some things to think about when you play. Then try to practice each of those different ways of play separately. I'll definitely do a tutorial on this. Thanks,
Hi Warren! I'm loving your tutorials. I've noticed you don't have a specific way of holding your chords, does that mean it doesn't matter which fingers go on which note when playing a chord? For example, we can use finger 1 2 3 to play a triad, or any fingering we find comfortable?
@@pianolessonwithwarren Thank you for responding :) There is another question that came to mind this week for me when practicing upper structure chords. I would be very glad if you could help me answer it. If I am, say, in the Key of B and play an E major chord with a D# Minor chord on top, how do I call the chord built then? Is it called an Emaj 7, 9, #11? I'm particularly curious about the #11 here.
Great videos but I have to admit I feel sort of lost on this one and the last. Im still trying to learn the scales from #4 and 5 was great but trying to figure out the fingering jumping between scales is tough. Not really a complaint I guess I just need to practice
Hey there, Warren, I've been coming to your videos for a while now and am wondering: do you recommend learning in sequence from beginner videos then to intermediate, so on and so forth, looking back on them now? Sometimes I don't really understand the methods, but really don't want to be stuck in one video did too long, ya know? I play a general accompaniment for my church that works for fast songs, but I haven't figured out a general one for slow songs yet.
Tom DeRusseau you can play the chords in any inversion, no harm done. However, some inversions will sound better with different songs, so you have to always listen and be critical, don’t settle for any inversion. Use the one that sounds best to you, or the inversion that sounds closest to the original recording.
Hey Warren I have watched now a few tutorials from your chanel and Im starting to learn all this different chrods scalesbut one question keeps coming in my mind: How can you use the different chord types in scale I mean is it right that you cant just go and do a diminished chord in scale where the chord uses a note that is not in the scale? hope you get the question Im trying to ask :D BTW perfect tuts you are doing right here they are helping me alooot.
hmm okey so there are all kinds of chords like minor major dminished etc. and the problem I have or the thing I dont understand at the moment is: Can you use these chords no matter if a key that you play isnt in the scale or am I misunderstanding something that would solve my question? Maybe you get it now :/ Im sorry if my english isnt quiet perfect its not my mother language :/
Cedric Zumsteg yes these chords can be used even if it requires you to venture outside of the key. These is where the concept of passing chords comes in.

Julian McClurkin awesome 👏🏽 thanks for watching 😊👍🏾
This is a really great lesson! Very solid recommendations. Will definitely be adding some of these to my routine
Great as allways Warren but a bit complex for me. I miss rhythm exercises to combine with this kind of chords. Thank you so much. I love your work.
Excellent education in Canada. They teach pure confusion in the States
4:52 sus on the 5th (delay to I chord)

Your the best bro.
I'm at this level with inversions in every key. It might take me several months but it's a step I have to take.
Awesome. Thanks man for sharing your time and knowledge with us. Great vid.
Ruben Channel thank you 😊
Thank you sir...❤❤❤❤
Warren, you are the best teacher in youtube, I have a question about learning. I (dont speak English well) how can I learning from 0 there is a path ?
Yes there’s a path, however, I only teach in English 😊
Warren you are definitely the go to guy on piano. Love your stuff.
Brandon Musalia awe thanks man 🙏🏾😊
I am just getting into playing piano and i came across this channel.
I may have a few questions.
Brandon Musalia sure man, no problem.
Piano Lesson with Warren i am currently having a problem multitasking between my left hand and my right hand..what should i do?

Hello Do you teach the intro song in your lesson? I really would like to learn that song!
Unfortunately no, I don’t have a tutorial on that song in that style.
I learned a lot..thanks

No there are some fundamental fingerings you should learn first - especially if you’re a beginner/intermediate, then you can break off after.
Thank you bro this help me alot love u bro!!

Yes 🙌🏽

How do I get these beats

What are the fingerings for practicing broken triads ?
Hey Warren,Can we play chords in any inversion while playing a song? Will that do any harm for the song ?

Cedric Zumsteg yes you have some ways to go, but you’re asking the correct questions and you’re learning from the right guy 😊👍🏾
So if the third is at the bottom ,it is first inversion,; and if the fifth is at the bottom it's second inversion
Paul Crooks that Is correct 😊👍🏽

You still didn't teach how to move the left hand like you just did ...
