While it is still usable for DPS boost against ubers, the uptime on spectres is not good. Sacrificing Clarity for extra gem slot isn't worth it as you may run out of mana at random (yeah, I died to uber shaper slam once when I couldn't use flame dash). Clarity + Precision with crit multi Watcher's Eye is better overall. That said, my current setup with malevolence and vaal blight provides good burst DPS windows. If not doing ubers, none of these optimizations matter as the DoT cap has been reached even with Replica Badge and no custom configs.
