Forging A Knife From A Railroad Spike And High Carbon Steel

In this video I forge a knife from a railroad spike and some 1095 high carbon steel.
I cut a groove in the railroad spike and stuck the 1095 steel in the spike and then wrapped baling wire around the whole thing to hold it together while I forge-welded it shut.
I heat treated the same way I do my 1095. And tempered at 2, two hour cycles at 500 Degrees F
